Should have done this years ago. Ported my old phone no. over with no problems, only took about a week. Had AT&T land line with DSL, kept that until my old phone no. ported, then went with a stand alone cable modem and dropped AT&T (with pleasure). If you disconnect your outside "customer access" phone/DSL lines coming into your house (easy), then you can plug the output from the Ooma to one of your phone jacks in your house, and then all the phone jacks in your house are connected to the Ooma. Sound quality is the same as my land line was, and if someone leaves you a message on the Ooma device, the power LED on your remote wireless phone cradle will blink indicating there is a message on the Ooma (pretty cool).
