No Sound

I liked my first one of these so much I bought a second as a backup. As a backup I've used it very little. Last week this backup radio just stopped working - fully charged, good signal but NO SOUND.
In reading some other reviews I see this is a common problem. I think Best Buy should agree to replace any radio like this that has no sound. There is clearly a design flaw. Too many people with the same problem to be anything else.
What's great about it: HD Quality when it first worked
What's not so great: No Sound
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My computer does not recognize this device to charge, is there a portable charger that would work with this HD radio?

Try your cell phone charger, It might fit... and might not. Mne does fit but the radio quite working!

My HD radio just stopped working and now doesn't seem to be taking a charge. What could be the problem?

The radio is defective. Many have the no sound problem. Best Buy should replace them.

Can't hear anything.

I can see that my radio is on and receiving music but I cannot hear it with my Bose headphones. Do you need special headphones to hear it? If not, what is wrong.

It is not on mute and the sound is turned up to 12 or so.

Is there something wrong or am I missing something?
This is a defect in the radio that many have experienced, including me. It is not your headphones.

This is a systemic problem with this radio that many have, including me. Best Buy should replace them, but if it is out our warranty, they probably will not. There is a design flaw with the radio.

How to switch radio mode from FM to HD

My portable HD radio is stuck in FM radio mode and I can't get it to tune to an HD station. How do I change the mode from FM to HD? Using the ALL SEEK or HD SEEK feature is still not landing it on HD stations, only FM.
It should find any HD stations in your area automatically. HD signals are weaker the regular FM. You may be tool far from a FM/HD transmitter... or you may have a bad product.

Does this also have AM reception?

Only HD FM and FM seem to be specified. Can it also receieve AM band channels?
No AM. HD quality is great... when the radio works.

Re: No sound

Please explain mute function
You mute this radio by pushing in on the volume control. When muted, a slash mark is seen going across the symbol of a speaker.

Does this unit pick up RDS?

Yes, and if you have some good headphones, this little radio sounds great! I have two and I use them both. You need a computer to change the battery unless your cell phone charger fits.
