I need advice on what camera to buy her

My wife is a very fine artist I would like to buy a digital camera for her she does most of her paintingon location. She says she needs a digital camera with a zoom lens plus one that would take portraits and the best quality pictures for her work ,she speaks of a Digital SLR with at least
a 12.o pixel ? what do you recommend I buy her. I have a limited budget of between $ 750.00
and a $1000.00 dollars and I need some professional advice.

Thank you
Wm Bertsche
.
Right now the Nikon - 12.3-Megapixel D90 Digital SLR Camera - Black its on sale for 1007.99 dollars. That is a great deal. This camera is great for amateur photographers who wants great quality in their pictures. Also the Kit lens it has goes from wide open shots all the way to long shots. Its also decent for macro photography. Meaning that she will be able to take pictures of small things. Also the sensor the camera has its evry good and will create great sharp pictures of her artwork. She can also take very good portraits with it. Its simply a great choice to start creating art and taking pictures of art.

Most versatile camera?

I'm looking for a new camera. The camera I have is adequate under normal circumstances, but fails in 3 areas:
- taking pictures in poor light/indoors without flash
- taking pictures quickly (as in from a moving bus)
- stable images when taking pictures while moving
Since (on vacation) pictures are often taken in poor light (a castle at night) or moving (a tour bus) I need a camera that can do these things well. Suggestions?
Thats really a hard question to answer because it depends on how much money are you willing to spend. Unfortunely point-and-shoot cameras wont help you to produce the quality or the things you asking for. Any DSLR Camera will help you solve in someway this things, the down side its that you require some type of experience and practice in photography and it can get very expensive.

-taking pictures on low light with no flash requires a lens with big aperture and those babies cost a ton.
-for taking pictures quickly again you need a fast lens and money its big factor in here too.
-lenses with image stabilazers helps you solve this problem. there are some decent lences at a fair price.

take a note that this is for a DSLR camera only. Point and shoot camera will not produce a decent image on this things you are asking for. I recommend the canon rebel XS to see if you are going to start in the world of photography. Its not to expensive as the rest of the DSLR cameras and will help you get decent pictures in the quality you are looking for.

the difference between 55-250mm and 75-300mm lens

looking at the Cannon EOS digital rebel XS 10.1MP slr camera w/extra 75-300mm lens or w/extra 55-250 lens for sport action pic.
I believe that the 55-250mm lens its alot better for fast moving objects than the 75-300mm. You gonna have a hard time focusing at 300mm.

cannon t1i v. t2i

i am buying a DSLR for the first time. I was going to get the cannon t1i, but i was wondering if the t2i is a better use of my money?.
Also should i buy a package deal, and if yes which one?
The T1i its a great camera to start with. It took me 6 months to figure that i wanted to get into more advance photography, so i sold my old rebel and bought the 7d. If you are not very sure about photography stay with the cheapest. They all gonna teach you about what the world of photography its all about. Then if you really like what you see you will end up like me and buying another camera. well i think thats everyones story. GL
