First the software security wont allow it to be installed unless the cd is in a dirve on the system you are installing it on!! it says PC, Netbook, or Laptop right on the box!! I tried to install it on a netbook and from a flashdrive since my netbook does not have a optical drive and I get a error "NETBOOK DETECTED CONTACT SUPPORT" what is this? so I searched the Net about the error and found you must have the cd in a drive to install the software but for some reason netbooks are not allowed? this was a big deal breaker I will never buy one of there products again!!! why would they put it right on the box that it works on a Netbook? also if you loose the cd they will charge you $10.00 for a new one you can't use there updates unless a original disk is in a drive when you upgrade the software, I installed it on a desktop just to see how it works but I wanted it for traveling and draging my gaming system around is not a option, and buying a external usb drive for the netbook just to install Hauppauge software is not a reasonable expectation.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a update to the review about the box

The box on Bestbuy's site does not say Netbook but the one I received from the store does Hauppauge must have revised the box since this image was posted! I can add a plus to the review the tuner attached to my desktop using the provide antenna was able to pick up 2 digital broadcast channels that my old tuner could not even with a full size digital roof top antenna and a high power amp, I was very surprised that this little antenna was able to tune into these stations!! so on the positive side the tuner is capable of picking up weak signals! not even my 2 HD tv's can pick them up! so I may keep it I just have to find a way to install it on my Netbook at least they did something right the hardware is great but the software stinks for the lack of better words! also you can just install the driver and use it in Media Center, one more negative I just found the remote is not very useful it doesn't work right, I sat there pressing buttons and got the volume to change twice in 10 minuets never got it to change channels, I have to check to see if the battery is good, I might have received a bad Battery?
