I purchased the same exact system 10 years ago. It was the best back then, It is the best now. You can read all of the reviews on the sound quality for yourself, I just wanted to make you all aware of TWO MAJOR DISADVANTAGES of TODAYS UNITS, even though the packaging is the same. 1. THERE IS NO ON/OFF Switch. 10 years ago on the same system, KLIPSCH PROMEDIA 2.1 THX there was an on off switch on the back of the system at the lower part of the sub, these days, there is none. Also, turning the volume all the way down does not turn off the system. I would rather pay 10 dollars, 20 dollars, or more, whatever it costs to have the stupid on off switch so I don't have to reach behind things to unplug this bad boy. 2. Much more of a minor detail, but still an issue. 10 years ago the same system had a fuse in the back. It was a clever little "safety device" more for ensuring the durability of the device than personal safety. When the system was overloaded, it would simply popped out. Allz ya had to do was push it back in and twist, and you were working again. That came in handy on my last unit, when throwing party for over 50 people, the circuit board to a more than 1000 watt amp became over worked, and literally liquefied. I put these bad boys in relief of that amp and those speakers in a clutch. Of course I had not bothered to check the levels of the ipod, nor the system itself and everything had been turned up. Upon plugging it in, unit turned off. Immediately I realized what had happened, and I put the fuse back in. It probably saved the device, the first time. Why did I have to buy it now, 10 years latter, well it was college back then, and nothing survived.
What's great about it: Anything with a headphone jack can be transformed into a THX theater
