Tinny sound, inferior mic

Just bought it and I'm going to return tomorrow. On way home I tested it out by calling a friend and had him listen to me with and without the headset plugged in. He said there was no comparing. Without was much, much better. With the headset plugged in in sound quality as "okay".
Earbuds are tinny and lacking midrange. That is something I could have lived with if the mic was good. Being a consultant, though, who spends a lot of time on the phone, I can't have my paying clients struggling to hear what I'm saying so I'm probably going to pony up for the $130 to get the Bose which I hear are amazing.
What's great about it: Not sure anything is actually GREAT about it. Tangle free wire I guess.
What's not so great: Mic is inferior. Friends said I sound my voice sounds as if at about half strength.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
