Works perfectly well! Because it's thunderbolt and hdmi (non locking connections) it is possible to wiggle out if a laptop or imac are moved on the desk. This is true of all thundebolt and hdmi connections tho.

Best cheap phone mount!

I've had 2 of these for almost 5 years now, the 2nd replaced the 1st. A small plastic part broke on the first, but has not been a problem on the replacement yet. It holds better than suction cup mounted ones. The only downside is that it doesn't fit my wife's car (nissan altima) or her old car (hyundai elantra) because the shape of the vent is different. It works great in my 2006 Taurus.

Does this work with iPhone 6? looking for an HDMI cable to watch TV from phone.

No, the iphone uses a "Lightning" connector, this is a "Thunderbolt" connector. Confusing, I know.
