Hitchcock does romantic comedy

This movie is a little different for Hitchcock. It plays more like a romantic comedy at times with a bit of mystery thrown in. The cinematography, acting, and writing are all excellent. Also, the picture quality of this transfer is amazing! There is a lot of fine detail in the image and the colors are brilliant.

Fun Jackie Chan feature

This is one the better quality releases of Jackie Chan films on Blu-ray. The audio and video are good, although not outstanding. At least the picture is not cropped and the audio is presented in a lossless 5.1 channel mix.
The disappointments here are the lack of the original Chinese soundtrack and the fact that this is the U.S. cut of the film, which runs about 15 minutes shorter. Even with these issues, I would still recommend this if you can get it for a good price.

The best of Hitchcock on Blu-ray!

Overall, these are excellent transfers, although some shine more than others. For example, The Birds doesn't look so great during a few sequences, but I think that's mostly due to the special effects than the transfer itself. In any case, this is the best these films have ever looked or sounded on home video.
As for the films themselves, the five that are included in this set are really the cream of the crop from the larger, more expensive Masterpiece Collection. You can't go wrong!
Currently, three of the five films in this set have not yet been released individually on Blu-ray in North America. Only North by Northwest and Psycho have individual releases. That makes this set all the more attractive.

Don't be fooled by the G rating, this movie isn't just for little kids. More than likely, you will have tears in your eyes by the end. I certainly did. Another amazing find in the $7.99 bin!

Surprisingly good

This is a really good movie. It has pretty much everything you could want: action, adventure, comedy, and a touch of romance. I would put this up there with some of Pixar's best. To top it off, the Blu-ray features perfect video, an amazing soundtrack, and a good amount of extras. 5 stars all the way.

Excellent Christmas movie

This has become one of my favorite Christmas movies and I was very excited for it to be released on Blu-ray. Overall, the picture and sound are both very clear. Although the only extra is a trailer, I'm still happy just to have the film in HD.
It should also be noted that there was a mastering error in the first pressing of the disc which caused a video glitch just before the 30 minute mark where a 2 second clip of a different scene is inserted. This only affects the video. It's not really a big deal as there's no dialogue during this scene, but it's something to be aware of. Warner Bros. has corrected the error and is sending out replacement discs. They sent one out to me immediately after contacting them.

One of the best versions of A Christmas Carol

I've seen several versions of A Christmas Carol and this is one of the best. The acting is very good and the story stays pretty close to the book with only a few small differences. I found the audio and video quality to be excellent. The only disappointment is the lack of extras. I was very happy to find this in the $7.99 bin!

This movie is based on a true story, but is very different from the actual events. That, however, does not stop it from being great. It's an all-time classic with great performances all around and excellent camera work. David Lean was a master story teller and it shows here. This remastered version looks and sounds amazing. I was very excited to find this on sale at a great price!

A decent entry in the Jack Ryan series

This movie isn't bad, but it's not quite as good as the other movies in the series. That said, it's still an entertaining film. The picture quality is lacking the fine detail of newer releases, but it's certainly passable. The audio is pretty good, however.
