Save yourself the $$ and buy Uncharted 2 instead!

Let me first say I actually played Uncharted 2 before playing this one, and Uncharted 2 is a GREAT game, and you should buy it! However Uncharted, Drakes Fortune is simply awful. The story in itself is pretty good, but the actual game play content is the worst. It's basically shorting wave after wave of regular humans that take 9000 shots to die. You don't know who they are, or where they come from, but they keep coming and after shooting 10000000 bullets the game ends. There's no strategy what so ever, and it's simply not fun to play, save yourself the $$ and go buy Uncharted 2.
What's great about it: The Story
What's not so great: Everything else!

If you looking for cheap surge protector here it is, and it does just what you payed for, which is mostly more outlets with some protection. That's why I bought it, however I also have a heavy duty multi protection battery powered surge as well, and if your protecting your costly equipment (TV, DVD, Blue Ray, Game System, Computer, and Computer again) then you'll want to spend the money to get a really good protector, it will pay itself back in energy bill savings. This is fine for extra outlets only in my opinion.
What's great about it: It's cheap!
What's not so great: The expensive battery powered surge protectors are the way to go
I would recommend this to a friend!

outputs a good amount of volume, and decent sound. You loose a lot of mid-mid-high's. Overall I would recommend this for a home setup.
What's great about it: For the price the sound output is good
What's not so great: the mid-levels
I would recommend this to a friend!

what is a good laptop for a college student to get?

I am going into my first year of pharmacy school
Hi Jenn, It really more depends on what you'll be using it for (and your budget of course). If your only going to use it for simply task like, web browsing, email, productivity software use (MS Office), and things of that nature then you'll be fine with a basic laptop (look at Dell there are plenty between $400.00-600.00) You'll want at least 2GB RAM, built-in wifi, an Intel dual core preferred, and if you going to save a lot of data (media content and software take up the most space on a hard drive, word doc's and tings like that take up almost nothing) look at a 250gb hard drive or higher. If you are going to be doing any type of media work (video editing, photo editing, audio, etc.) and/or gaming then you'll need to look at a laptop with a good (dedicated) graphics card at somewhere around 256MB, this will up the price of your laptop by a good amount. Also if your fine with a 13" screen then you can get a great laptop for a great price, however if you are looking for 15" or more then this will raise the price for a good spec'd laptop or lower the specs for a cheaper laptop. Also if your doing any photo or video editing, or watching videos you should look into a high-res screen (1280x720 or higher is good) for that if not then anything above 1024x800 will be fine for you. Also keep in mind most people want additional software with there computer, that will add more to the price, you'll probably at least want MS office, and ant-virus (for PC). If you want good battery life in a PC look at the higher cell batteries, Mac's now come standard with a built in 7-8 hour battery. Lastly, if you can afford a Mac I'd go that route as it's the best in my opinion.

On a budget and wanting to buy a laptop

I am a single mother with limited income. I have been searching for a laptop via the web and asking the opinions of my friends and family. I am interested in a laptop that my son and I can use. Will be used 75% o the time for school (elementary and college online), internet, travel, and playing games.
Hi, buying a laptop is a tough task sometimes but there are some simple thing's to consider. You didn't really put what your range was so it's a little hard to answer your question but here's some advise: First it's really good to evaluate what your using the laptop for, where, and how often you will use it. If your only using it for simple things (browsing the web, email, productivity software [MS Office]) then a simple laptop is all you need. I will say when you get into things like games, then (unless there really simply graphic games) your going to need to look at a more mid-high to high end laptop to get a good graphics card (dedicated graphics card at somewhere around 256MB) because games will not play well if at all really on a basic laptop which usually has a not so great graphics card. You can get a good laptop from Dell for between $400.00-600.00 that will more than likely do everything you need (but remember for gaming look at the ones with a good graphics card). You should also get at least 2GB of RAM, and if possible look at an Intel dual core processor, but not completely necessary. You'll also want to look at screen size, If your happy with a 13" screen than the chances of you getting a good laptop for cheap go up A LOT. but if you want 15" or more than expect a harder find. Also keep in mind where you'll be using it, if it won't be plugged into the charger a lot then look into getting a high cell battery or it won't last long unplugged. You'll also have to look into the additional cost of software, Most people at least want MS Office on there computer which is at least $150.00 or so more to the price, and anti-virus (for a PC). Lastly, as an IT professional-I'll say if you can afford it..Get a Mac you'll be MUCH more happy and it will save you $$$ in the long run! Good Luck

I have a 780 HD Samsung LCD TV will blueray help my picture any better

Hi, I think you mean 720P HDTV, There are three types of HDTV's, 720P, 1080P, and 1080i they all refer to the screen resolution of the TV and the letter stands for progressive (P) and integrated (i) scan-which is basically how the images are displayed on your TV. If your TV is indeed 720P please keep in mind it will almost never look as good as a 1080p TV and will never look as good when playing a bluray disc as 1080p TV. Also remember to purchase a good HDMI cable for true HD viewing from you bluray player-TV. All that being said there are Many ways to calibrate an HDTV and a lot of settings are personal preference. Samsung usually does a pretty good job right out of the box, but this website: http://www.cnet.com/1990-7874_1-5108543-1.html

will give you some good insight.
And this website:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/148462/how_to_calibrate_your_hdtv.html

Will give you some good calibration notes.

I need a project in a bright room. Lots of windows. What am I looking for?

You will need a projector with high lumens ideally at least 2500 or more. Lumens simply put is the amount of light the projector will output. If it's a lot of daylight then 5000 lumens will be fine, if it's artificial light then anything about 2500 will probably work. You may have to adjust the contrast a little on the settings and get the best video output signal (HDMI or DVI) you can get so the picture quality is great too. Lastly, if you can afford it, a directional screen/fabric will be the best option because it will deflect light other than from what's hitting it straight on, however these can get pretty pricey.
