Solid Performing DUPLEX Printer/Scanner/Copier

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Solid Build Quality, Easy to use, Fast High Quality Printing, Good Everyday Color and Copies (not photo quality), Ink cartridges are a little fussy – but OK.
UNBOXING
This has to be one of the easier HP’s I’ve unboxed. They have really streamlined packaging and accessories. There are “carrying handles” on the bag surrounding the printer, just life it out the box by the handles and it comes out of the box easily.
SETUP
The setup is also easier than the dozens of other printers I’ve set up in recent years. Just pull the tape off a few parts, there is a QR code on the printer for a video (it does not install anything) of step by step setup. After the ink is installed, it does a self-alignment test, then you are all set. Next you go to you PC and install the drivers. AMAZINGLY HP even lets you do the setup without forcing you sign up for an HP Account (just press skip/guest). THANKS HP.
TIP: I had one issue installing the INK. If I had to guess it was because I did not lift up the top portion of the scanner before installing the ink (as shown in the video). I just shoved the ink though the little windows that is presented when you flip open the panel. Somehow, I borked the printer, and had to get a replacement. The INK cartridges don’t always have a solid click when you insert them, so one can’t always tell when it is inserted correctly.
PERFORMANCE AND TESTING
Printing was fast, even on Highest Quality Modes. Scanning and copying was fast enough, even on the highest quality settings and photo modes. The black and white Text documents are very crisp and the colors are certainly good enough for everyday color printing. It is not a photo printer, so don’t expect picture perfect colors, but they are certainly usable images even for casual photos like brochures. You can see on the photos with the review, the colors are good, but not photo quality. Scanning / copying a photo in "Best Quality" mode introduces some softness. Still plenty usable.
Duplex (2 sided) printing AND Duplex scanning was quick simple to use.
SUMMARY
I’m looking forward to putting this through its paces in my new office setup as we return to the office in a few weeks.
In short, I do recommend this printer (The NON E Version) to give your home or office workgroup good quality, printing, scanning and copying. It is the “PRO” version, so it is rated for higher duty cycles, (that we will never come close to reaching in a small office).

WOW - Best Robot Vac I have owned!
That is a big statement, I know. I have owned 6 Robot Vacs from big and small brands over the past 5 years. None! have ever done as good of job as this Shark - Stratos. With all my other brands, I had to pre-clean the floor, get up large items like leaves, sweep out edges and corners. In the end (with other models) I only ended up with floors that are "Just OK" if you don't look too hard.
The Shark - Stratos is at least as good as I would do on my own, and in some cases better, because I tend not to get under the furniture as well as it does.
For my first test, I left the floors completely dirty, no pre-cleaning. I am hard pressed to find any missed spots or corners.
SETUP:
After the initial discovery it asked to do a quick vacuum run to find my rugs and map them so they don't get mopped. That also picked up about 80% of the debris.
RUNNING:
I asked it do a full vacuum and mop. That picked up 98% of the debris, and a nice finishing mop. From setup to finish (after full charge) it took about 3 hours to complete 600SQFT with a mix of hardwood and carpeting. I would guess about 1/2 that would be normal on an ongoing basis.
The operation was relatively quiet. I did not measure it, but it did not set the dogs off going crazy like other robot vacs had done. The biggest "noise" was the spinning of the edge brush.

The base is large about 2X the size of my prior 2022 shark model. The overall package is about 40lbs. This is some serious cleaning power.
What will get this used more than my other models it that it will also refill the mopping solution automatically and empty it. In the past, it was just too much of a hassle to bother with the mopping features. That is no longer an issue.
RECOMMENDATION
Really, this is the best I've ever used. So I guess you could say I would recommend it.
We are mostly hardwood (distressed with lots of bumps and ridges) with large and small rugs throughout.

Great Utility to Keep PC (and other) Optimized

Norton Utilities Ultimate is a great tool that easy to use, even for novice computer users. Just download the software, setup an account and enter your activation key. The software will guide your though cleaning up your PC from unwanted / unneeded junk files, and help to optimize the performance. You really don't need to know anything about computers to run this utility, it does all the work for you. Then the software runs in the background making suggestions on how to keep your device running efficiently. Many users don't realize all the programs that fire up and run in the background zapping your computing power and making your system sluggish. Norton will identify them and turn them off for you automatically. So far I've only used Norton Utilities Ultimate for my Windows PC, but I look forward to trying them out on my Android devices as well. I wish I had something like this last year when I filled up my phone with "missing" photos but I could not find them to delete them. (I've since upgraded my phone). This would have made the process so much easier.
RECOMMENDATION
Especially for novice users I highly recommend Norton Utilities Ultimate. It does a good job at a fair introductory price.

I nice little (small) power strip for when you need a few extra outlets. The power strip is at home in most environments (home / office) it is a nice neural white color and very low profile. The 90 degree plug also works well behind a sofa or other furniture you might have against the wall. In my case I have a very small home office with a sofa-bed against the wall. Traditional plugs stick out too far, and when I block the outlet then I don't have anywhere to plug in other needed devices like chargers. This solved that problem perfectly. Now I can have my sofa flush against the wall without risking breaking the cord or outlet. There are 6 well spaced outlets so you can also fit "most" bulky power supplies if needed. As near as I can tell there is no surge protection. There are no USB or other charger ports. The cord is nice and thick, so it should not be an issue plugging in higher power devices like printers into the power strip.
RECOMMENDATION
Overall I recommend the power strip, it is a good value, looks nice, and I like the angled plug.

A great little charger with a wonderfully long cable. I took this on a business trip last week thinking I might use it once in a while. In reality, on this trip, I used it all the time. It worked great and was very quick charging. I found myself needing to use my phone's USB port as a tethered ethernet hot spot. I was able to keep the phone charged at all times via this wireless charger. A real life saver for working on the go. Now it will be a permanent part of my travel kit. I also carry a work and personal phone, both are QI Charger compatible. This allowed me to top off each phone quickly.

Though it does not have all the bells and whistles of some other models, it is also much more affordable. There is no need to spend 10x more for a few more features. I do miss a screen, so that I could use it without a phone, but that is OK at this price point for a name brand dashcam.

The MFC-J1365DW is a fine addition to any home office. The print quality (especially the black) is very strong. The color printing is very good overall maybe not exactly photo ready but plenty good enough. The ability to print on both sides is a strong advantage at this price point as is the included WiFi. Scanning with an optical resolution of 1200x1200 is also nice. I did find the color scanning / copying a little soft and faded. I assume with some adjustments to settings it can be corrected (I used “best” default settings for everything). For everyday use in a home office or homework, for example, it is more than acceptable.
SETUP
My advice is to skip the mobile setup and use the front panel to attach it to your home WiFi. It can be a little tedious using the tiny screen to enter your WiFi password, but it will save you frustration later. Like most printers that try to force you to use the phone for setup it was not easy or intuitive and I eventually gave up trying to have my phone find the printer. Throughout the setup process (both on the app and the pc [setup.brother.com], you are bombarded with commercials and coupon codes for other Brother Promotions. The app and website allow you manage all of your Brother devices from sewing machines to printers and more.

At the time of this review ink prices were not available. However, I am a little concerned about how quickly this has gobbled up ink. I printed 2 color pages and 6 black and white pages. The box / specs state that it includes enough ink for 1200 black and white and 500 color pages. My status window for the printer says that I only have enough color ink remaining for about 250 color pages and about 700 black and white pages. This is close to 50% below the estimated available capacity. There was a message in setup something about filling the internal ink reservoirs from the cartridges and it only needed to be done one time. So maybe 50% of the ink is used filling the reservoirs. Still, I worry that “out of the box” I won’t get the stated output. In some parts of the setup instructions, it calls these “starter cartridges” which usually implies less than full ink cartridges. Only time will tell on the ink consumption.

I needed a new 2 prong power cord for my "travel" laptop as my puppy (at the time) chewed through the original cord. When I was looking for cords, I also needed one that was not polarized for when I travel to certain countries (like JAPAN) where the polarized plugs might not fit. Polarized plugs have one prong bigger than the other so that it can only be plugged in one way to an outlet. There are some safety reasons for polarized plugs, but in practice since the other end (that goes to the power brick) can be inserted either way, you don't have that assurance anyway.
The replacement cord is cool because it is braided which makes it easier to bend in tight spaces and very flexible. Even though it is 8 ft in length it does not take up much room in a suit case. I will probably pick up another cord so that when I'm traveling I need one less adapter.
RECOMMENDATION
In short I recommend this plug they have both Polarized and Non-Polarized versions for you to choose from and it is a good value overall.

I like that Roomba has some affordable units like this. It gives the option to have several of them in different rooms and levels without it hitting so hard in the pocketbook. This Roomba requires the new Roomba Home App instead of the now labeled "Classic" app. Though not the end of the world it now means I have to use two different apps to control my two Roombas. I like that the app actually shows the pattern used to clean.

Overall the 105 combo does a pretty good job at vacuuming and mopping. I find it best suited for smaller spaces, due to the limited dust bin capacity and liquid capacity. In a large all carpeted room I had to chase down the unit several times and empty the bin before the job was complete. If you can afford it, I would absolutely consider an upgrade to the self emptying model. The mopping is fine, but it is not a deep scrub, just skimming the surfaces with a damp pad.
RECOMMENDATION
As long as you keep your expectations in check (good overall basic cleaning). The Roomba 105 is a great value.

I really like the TUF family of ASUS gaming laptops. For my needs (gaming and graphics), they strike the perfect balance between power, performance and affordability. With 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 165hz full HD(+) screen this system really rocks. At first, I was worried about the performance of a 5060 graphics card (just buying into hype of more is better), but the performance is spot on for where it needs to be, especially with DLSS and Ray Tracing. (see pics for specs and benchmarks) Due to a faster CPU and the upgraded graphics, it blows the doors off my older but same tier TUF gaming laptop with a 3060 GPU. (CPU Benchmark > 35K)
For gaming, I like the RGB backlit keyboard, and the colored gaming keys. The keys are very responsive.
Overall, so far, all the titles I’ve thrown at it work perfectly.

The tiniest complaint I have is WiFi 6e instead of WiFi 7 but I can fix that with a very inexpensive upgrade if it becomes necessary. I do wish it had 2.5Gb or even 10Gb Ethernet for a little more future proofing, but again, this in minor and can be easily fixed with a USB dongle.
I wish the keys had a little texture to them. They perform great, but they are very glossy and easy to have your fingers slip off the keys when typing. I assume most gamers (like me) will use their own keyboard. The touchpad is extremely sensitive (good) but slippery.
The speed of the drive is VERY GOOD for a default laptop drive almost 7K Read and 6K write speeds. This thing “ROCKS” at this price point.
SETUP
The set up if straight forward. Once that is done, everything is ready to go. There is not any additional bloatware. Just attach your favorite accessories (gaming mouse, keyboard, etc) and you are good to go. I do suggest running windows update (several times) and then installing the latest graphics drivers before really kicking the tires. The Windows Setup may also install a critical BIOS update.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
Really, I can’t find any faults (and usually I can find something to complain about). The laptop easily handled all games, graphics, and productivity software. This is probably the easiest and most straight forward laptop or PC build I’ve experienced in recent memory. (5-10 systems per year) The screens and graphics perform well and look great.
The laptop is not maxed on specs compared to an ultimate and vastly more expensive gaming laptop, but it really hits that sweet spot of performance and value.
The fans are powerful and do a great job of keeping everything cool The shape of the case keeps the laptop slightly elevated for cooling. Sitting on the lap for normal usage was not too bad. But I did not have all the setting maxed for high performance gaming either.
I did have to go into the Windows-Personal Appearance-Lighting to turn off windows control of the keyboard lights and return control to ASUS apps to get the lights working again on the keyboard (after one of the Windows updates took it away).
I like that there are dedicated volume and mic buttons not combined with other keys.

RECOMMENDATION
For home, work, play or school, nobody is going to be disappointed with the performance and value of the ASUS - TUF GAMING F16. I definitely would have no problem to recommend it for 90% of the users I know.

looking at the packaging, it mentions nothing about supporting Dolby atmos. I went to the store and put it back on the shelf. This product isn't on the logitech site, where is best buy getting this information?
My understanding is that the ATMOS APP (DOLBY ACCESS) from the MS APP Store will support any type/brand of headphone / speaker, since it is all simulated anyway. I don't know why the box and literature don't mention it. I suspect a licensing agreement issue. Meanwhile with or without the logo, it is my understanding you can use the app with any combination so speakers or head phones as long as you "Subscribe" to the app.

How do I enable Dolby Atmos for the 535 headset? I see nothing in GHub, and Windows only has Windows Sonic for Headphones. Is this a program I need to purchase and download through the Microsoft Store? Thank you.
I am by no means an expert on all things Dolby so I can only tell you my experience.
Yes you have to install the "free" Adobe Access App from the windows app store. Then you have to "Subscribe" for the right to unlocking ATMOS capability on the APP. (This is a Dolby thing so don't blame Logitech). When I did this a few months ago, the first year was free, then each year was something like $10-$15. Some of the headset makers are including a free coupon for an extra year. One nice thing is that the app works across multiple platforms with the same subscriptions (at least PC and XBOX is what I have).

I purchased these headphones but GHub does not find them. I've tried reinstalling, rebooting, updating, restarting, no luck. This product is not listed on the Logitech website which gives me concern as to support. Anyone have any suggestions?
I don't have an exact answer as of today 12/18 I download Ghub (for the first time) and it found them right away. In my case the Dongle is plugged in, Windows 10, and the default speaker is the G535 headset.

We have been unable to get any of the local network channels. We have scanned this every way possible and have rotated the antenna in all directions. What are we doing wrong?We are missing all the big ones, NBC, CBS, FOX and PBS.
if you did not do so already then look at a site like antenna web to get the general direction on where to aim the main antenna. then you can fine tune from there. many phone have compass apps to you help you find where 125 degrees is located (as an example)
disconnect everything and carefully re-attach. little cable goes between motor and dish. long cable goes between motor and controller box. make sure it is plugged into back of controller on the outermost port that says antenna
make sure controller box is plugged in and turned on you should see a red light on the back of the dish if it is all connected properly.
connect the antenna out (either the build in cable or the spare port) to your receiver / tv and scan for channels.
if that does now work, the contact mfg.
good luck

How many TVs will this antenna support?
Buy default you can connect 2 sets (there are 2 ports) , but with a good quality splitter / amplifier you can hook up as many as you want.
