I’m glad I stuck with it, but the stand alone almost made me put it away back in the box. In the end, I had to modify the stand for now, and I will eventually replace the stand, but like I said, I’m glad I stuck with the LITRA LX PREMIUM DUAL overall.
THE GOOD
Once you are controlling the LITRA BEAM LX PREMIUM DUAL from the G-Sync software everything is fantastic.
- Turns on the light automatically when a selected webcam is activated
- Turns off the light automatically when the webcam is de-activated
- Infinite adjustment of white temperature (warm to bright white) and brightness
- RGB Color Selections for the rear lights
- Rear Colors can be synced to monitor colors, etc.

Now I can better control the lighting when streaming without fussing with a handful of task lights I have clipped to my desk. I think I will like it long term.
THE STAND
Someone needs to be taken to the woodshed for this stand. When you screw in the lamp to the stand there is not enough tension to hold the lamp in place, it was always loose and spinning. No matter how hard you screw it in, it is always loose. By loose I mean a strong breeze (or the weight of the wires) will tilt the lamp. Fortunately, I had just purchased some washers for my camera tripod mount which solved the problem by effectively shorting the length of the screw, it gave the light bar something to grab onto (the washer).
Wire Management is horrible. It just does not hold any of the wires out of sight and the clips provided are too weak and that same strong breeze will separate the wires from the clips. Here I used Velcro cable straps along the shaft to better hide / control the wires.
The base of the stand is too wide (deep) to fit cleanly behind any of my monitors. If I left it as it was, the height of the monitor (32 inch monitor) partially blocks the light, causing shadows because it was so far back on my desk, even when extended to full height. So, I had to half balance the light stand on the back of my monitor stand with 2 CD Cases under it to prop it up, then loosely lean it forward with more Velcro straps. The base is fine, but what the thing really needs is another axis of articulation, so you can lean the light forward, not just tilt it up and down. Even a joint at the base would be perfect so it can lean forward.
THE MANUAL CONTROLS
The controls need to be backlit, when you are being blinded by the front light, you can’t even see the controls exist, let alone any marking. This only matters if you want to use the light manually, but once you have the software running then it does not matter as much.

THE INSTRUCTIONS
Don’t really exist other than some vague pictures on the inside lid. I still could not tell you want the hieroglyphics mean and which button does what. Again, once I was controlling it from the software it was all good.

SUMMARY
The light and software controls are nice. I would recommend you plan on tossing out the stand, and get a cheap, but decent multipoint articulating webcam stand and mount it to that instead. This assumes you plan to use it in the traditional horizontal orientation above your monitor. Instead of side lighting.
Although it is overall OK, I can’t really recommend it at this price point with this stand.

Our first test of the Shark StainStiker was amazing. We have a window seat with a custom cover built in, that can’t easily be removed. For the past 1.5 years our dogs (puppies) have decided this is their day bed. So rain / mud / snow or shine this is where they hang out to chill and nap. It was looking a little dingy. We did not know how dirty it really was until we cleaned it with the Shark StainStriker.
It looks like new after a deep cleaning with the StainStiker.
The StainStriker was well packaged and easy to assemble. The quick start guide was actually useful and complete enough that we did not need anything else. Just follow the quick start guide to put water and fluids in their proper places, and you are good to go. The bench we cleaned is roughly 6x3 feet. We used about ½ the water+cleaner tank and about ¼ of the OKY boost fluid. So by inference, I think you should be able to deep clean about 80-100 SQ FT with the included starter bottles. By deep clean I mean thoroughly soaking and retreating several areas.
Next we plan to tackle the “DOG JEEP” used to transport the dogs to/from muddy parks.
After using it, you definitely want to clean the hose and wastewater bin. Cleanup was pretty easy, just remove the cap on the tool attached and fill the hose with water then rinse it out. To clean the wastewater bin, just remove the cover and rinse it really well.

First, and foremost, the sound is amazing with CD’s from this high end all-in-one receiver. I can recommend it, just for the sound quality. My CD’s have never sounded better. It is ideally targeted to replicate the feeling (experience) of a minimalistic setup with 2 speakers (or 2.1 with a subwoofer).
If you want the vibe of old school cool with fantastic sound, look no further. It will make you want to get your CD’s out of the basement.

If this is how you plan to listen to the SA-C600, then read no further, and run out and buy it!
MODERN FEATURES AND USER EXPERIENCE (UX)
Trying to use any modern features / streaming / DLNA / etc from the remote is not a great experience. For example, I have about 500 CD’s and Albums stored on my media server. With the remote, you have to scroll through them all one at a time alphabetically. If you want to listed to Album #499, then that means 499 key presses on the remote.
Your best bet is to use the app on a phone to fling media at the receiver. But the mobile app is very basic and not very user friendly.

Ultimately, connecting it to a voice assistant is the only sane way to stream media to device. However, it only supports google and not Alexa (which is what I use). For me to get full use from the receiver, then I needed to connect an Alexa Device to receiver. At that point, then, none of the native streaming features of the receiver are even used. Overall, this was the better solution for me. (Alexa connected).
SOME MISSING THINGS FOR ME
I was surprised that the following features are missing / not supported. I don’t take points off as they were not advertised as being included. I only mention them in case they are important to you. These would have made it much more overall useful to me.

I hoped to use the SA-C600 to replace my 25 year old receiver in my rec room, or at least supplement it by driving CD’s and Vinyl though the SA-C600 to my old (but powerful) receiver. But without lineout/pre-amp out, I can’t properly connect it to my old system. With it being only a 2.1 channel system, I can’t drive my existing 7.1 speaker setup.
I also can’t easily make it the entertainment center of my media setup, since I can’t connect HDMI HD Audio from the TV as the main input. (My TV/Monitor does not have Optical Out).
It may sound like I don’t like it, and I assure you that is not the case. As a stand alone unit it is fantastic.
RECOMMENDATION
For physical media, the SA-C600 is a fantastic , great sounding, high end luxury player / receiver. It is best suited for small to medium rooms with simple 2.1 speaker setup. It is stylish and minimalistic. Pair the SA-C600 with some high end bookshelf speakers and subwoofer and you won’t be disappointed. The Streaming options seem bolted on, and dated. In the end you are best just pairing your phone and streaming from your phone to use these apps, and there is nothing wrong with that setup.

Some context for this review. I other have OTA (Over The Air) DVR’s (Digital Video Recorders) from the top 2 DVR sellers and have been using DVR’s since around 2002.
QUICK IMPRESSIONS
This is an attractive DVR in a small package. It includes 2 HD ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) 1.0 (up to 1080i resolution) tuners, a physical ethernet connection as well as Wi-Fi connectivity. What really makes it a great value it that it includes 14 days of guide data at no extra charge, has built in storage (128GB) and also includes free OTT (Over The Top) streaming channels that can also be recorded without using a Tuner.
For many consumers this can give the top DVR a run for their money. Certainly, it packs a lot of value compared to other offerings in the marketplace. It also addresses one my main objections to using TABLO devices in the past, and that is to get rid of fees for guide data or advanced features.
WHO IS THIS GOOD FOR
• Casual OTA viewers, who want to time shift their viewing
• When your Antenna is in a different location (room) from your other TVs. This allows you to put the antenna where it gets the most channels and then stream to the other TV’s instead of running a wire to every TV (assuming you have good Wi-Fi coverage).
• Users where their TV or Monitor does not include a Tuner.
• Viewers who want free OTT channels (which don’t require an antenna, such as Bloomberg, ION, CourtTV and other “generic” channels)
• Casual OTA viewers, who want to time shift their viewing
• When your Antenna is in a different location (room) from your other TVs. This allows you to put the antenna where it gets the most channels and then stream to the other TV’s instead of running a wire to every TV (assuming you have good Wi-Fi coverage).
• Users where their TV or Monitor does not include a Tuner.

WHAT IT IS NOT (no points off, just sharing information)
• It is not 4K / ATSC 3.0 / NextGenTV compatible, so it has a limited life as currently ATSC 1.0 is set to be phased out in Mid 2027 (though it has been extended in the past, and will probably be extended again). But ATSC 3.0 tuners are much more expensive 2X or 3X or more and there is virtually no native 4K content to watch on ATSC 3.0 in most areas.
• It does not connect directly to your TV, you must access it through a streaming “stick” like ROKU / AMAZON / APPLE or on your mobile phone. It does not have an app on Samsung TV’s.
• It does not work with 3rd party recording software like PLEX.
• It does not have DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) support which makes channels show up as folders to many generic devices.
• There currently is no way to watch content offline (eg download a TV show to your phone to watch later).
• It does not have commercial skip, but you can fast forward manually.

These items are not critical for most users, they are nice to have features and easily given up for not paying extra fees, and a relatively low initial cost.
SETUP
For the most part Setup is straight forward. Attach an Antenna, Load the App on your phone, and follow the prompts.
SOME MINOR ISSUES (chalking it up to new release)
Some features are only available on the Mobile App, while some are only available on the streaming stick app. I assume over time this will all get harmonized.
• External Drives – If you want to add and external hard drive, as of the time of this review, the Roku app does not give you an option for Formatting the Drive, which is required before you use it. I had to switch to the Mobile App to format the drive, then everything worked well. I was able to use an old SSD laptop drive in a cheap external enclosure and it worked perfectly.
• Searching the guide - The mobile app does not allow you to search the guide, you need the streaming stick App to search for your favorite show. If you are watching on the phone you have to scroll around the guide to find something to watch.
• USE THE BLUE CHANNEL ON ROKU NOT THE WHITE ONE. The Blue TABLO is for the 4th Gen DVR’s.

RECOMMENDATION
If you want an easy to use and probably the most affordable consumer DVR solution, then the TABLO 4th Gen OTA DVR is a great fit. If you want / need some of the more advanced features that are not included at this time, then you probably need to spend 2X-6X more depending upon what solution you go with and what features you need.
For what is included in the price, you get a lot of value. Just don’t expect it to do everything that more expensive DVR’s can do.

GREAT VALUE SCANNER – VERY GOOD (NOT PERFECT) SCAN

GREAT VALUE SCANNER – VERY GOOD (NOT PERFECT) SCANS
The Epson Perfection V39 II, is an interesting scanner. It has been a long time since I reviewed a stand along image scanner. It weighs close to nothing, has a kickstand for upright use. It does not even have a power supply as it is completely powered by the USB 2.0 port / cord. It does a very good job overall. My main interest is photo scanning.
For quick scans (default settings), it is very fast and works really well. I have found the Epson Scanning Software to be amongst the best, most flexible to use over the years, especially in advanced mode.
Although it reports a 4800 dpi native resolution scanner, you should know you can’t scan a full page at 4800 as the resulting file is simply too large. For full page scans you need to drop the resolution to 2400 dpi (which is still huge).
The Kickstand feature seems neat, but the frustration of trying to get a piece of paper to stay upright on the glass while trying to close the lid makes it a mostly useless feature / orientation for frequent use.
PORTS AND SUCH.
I find the inclusion of a USB 2.0 Type A to Type Mini connector an odd choice in 2023. Everything should be USB-C and USB 3.0. I assume they used USB 2.0 to save some money and probably the processor inside the scanner would not support USB 3.0 speeds anyway. Still from an overall connectivity standpoint USB-C is so much easier and widespread. I did not take away any points for this, but one would think a USB 3.0 port would give more power and speed to a scanner, as well as ease of use.
PHOTO SCANNING
I tried both TIFF and JPEG at 2400 DPI and the dithering on the shadows is pretty different from the original. It is hard to show in the pictures, but I tried. It is more pronounced when you print out the Scanned Photo, than on the screen. I get there are a ton of variables in play, monitor settings, scanner settings, and printer settings. I get the feeling the scanner is over compressing the images to make up for having to push the images over USB 2.0 speeds.

The V39 II seems well suited for occasional home use (IE making quick copies and scans). I think it is pretty far away from professional or semi professional. So if you just need a small scanner for occasional use. This is a good choice.

The Acer KA272 EBI is definitely the best “bang” for the buck. The IPS panel has a nice wide viewing angle and good overall picture quality. The 27 inch screen provides a good size for gaming and office applications. A 100hz refresh rate is well above other monitors in this range. I had no problems driving the monitor at 100hz and synced 100fps.
I have no issue recommending this monitor for a good budget gaming experience. My rating is a reflection of price to performance. There is no point comparing this monitor to one costing 10-20X more as that is not the target market.

SOME ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
This is the best monitor I’ve seen at this price point. Depending upon your point of view, for a small additional investment (about 20% more) you can acquire the next level up ACER monitor that includes Display Port and a higher refresh rate. Because there is not a display port and the HDMI is 2.0 (instead of 2.1) Modern NVIDIA cards won’t recognize the monitor as GSYNC compatible. Again, it is not advertised as GSYNC compatible and basic Vertical Synchronization will still work. No points off, just something you might want to know about.
SUMMARY
This would make a great office monitor, everyday monitor, or budget gaming monitor.

The LG XBOOM is very well suited for large rooms and big parties, where the ability to project a huge sound field is most important, along with thumping bass. The lights are nice if you are into that sort of thing, and if not, easy to turn off, even without the app.
I have tested / reviewed many speakers. For very good, room filling sound, the LG XBOOM ranks #1. For overall sound reproduction clarity at all levels and volumes this falls a touch short. I am not at all saying the LG is bad in anyway (it is very good). It is very close to the top of my list. It is only that if near perfect sound reproduction is more important to you than shaking the walls, there are potentially other options you might want to explore.
I spent several hours switching audio between my top Bluetooth speakers and the LG with a variety of music styles. Other than “club music”, the LG always came up just a hair short of the others on my list for overall clarity. This weakness is in the upper midrange. The audio (vocals mostly) is just not exactly as crisp. Again, we are talking like “A-” sound instead of “A” sound.

SUMMARY
Overall, I like the LG XBOOM, and it will likely find a home with me for larger outdoor parties. It is a great choice for a well rounded portable speaker.

Despite some shortcomings, I like the ASUS ZENBOOK 14.5. It has a luxury looks and feel, and some robust components like the OLED Touch - Screen and fast CPU. It is lightweight and quiet / cool running. It has thunderbolt 4 ports for fast connectivity and charging. It has a secret numeric keypad hiding under the trackpad (illuminated). This all makes for a versatile all-around laptop that is great to use for every day tasks, and some light gaming up to 40FPS @ 1080p.
I say quirky because, for example, it has a top-of-the-line 120hz OLED monitor suitable for gaming, and a very good performing 13th Generation CPU. And while the CPU has an integrated GPU, suitable for lite gaming, it won’t handle a heavy load without a dedicated GPU. The ZENBOOK has a middle of the road performing NVME solid state storage at only 512GB with relatively slow write speeds. This means it is not well suited for content creators. Fortunately, the drive can be upgraded (if you are brave enough) to something with more performance as it supports PCIe NVME M2 Drives Gen 4x4.
The biggest letdown for me, is the hardwired, non-upgradable or expandable single memory slot with 8GB RAM. In my experience 8GB is the minimum suggested for most video intensive applications. Additionally, because the GPU shares the main memory, the laptop will continue to swap out to disk (virtual memory), which is where a drive with slow write speeds gets in the way. I did not crack the case open to triple check the RAM, but the ASUS specs clearly say 8GB RAM max. And other sources all say 8GB RAM. The case is held on with microscopic Torq screws. I don’t think they want you to open the case.
This ZENBOOK could be ideal for the person who just needs a windows laptop to do everyday tasks like email, browse the web, watch some videos, run office applications, and so on. Maybe it is also good for a student who is not a gamer. However, other than the OLED screen, for such users there are more affordable options out there.
I’m going to try to set this up for my wife to use with her crafting applications. She usually has tons of windows and tabs open, and is sometimes running medium graphic intensive applications. I think the 8GB of RAM will become an issue before too long (today she has 32GB in a much older system). The upcoming release of Windows 12, is rumored to require a MINIMUM of 8GB of RAM. Past history tells us that running anything at the MINIMUM is not a good idea for a pleasant user experience. I had just assumed that the memory could be upgraded, and I would drop another 8GB in there for dual channel 16GB of DDR RAM.
SUMMARY
This quirky equipped laptop is great for what it is. However, it will ever only be what it is today, with virtually no upgrade path. Being stuck at 8GB RAM is OK for today, but expect a limited shelf life as more applications require 16GB or more or RAM to run effectively.
I give the ZENBOOK an also confusingly high rating for the overall quality of the monitor and CPU (what it is today). Just be warned about the 8GB limits.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You can’t beat the plug and play simplicity of the SN850P. The performance is top notch for this class of drive (Gen 4x4). For a PlayStation or PC, you can’t go wrong with this drive.
The already built in(on?) Heatsink, make installation a snap. My previous drive took some experimenting to get the aftermarket heatsink to fit properly. Whereas the SN850P was good to go out of the box.
I ran benchmarks using my PC first, as I don’t know how to run similar benchmarks on the PS5. Using CystalDiskMark the drive tested at 6960 MB/s read and 6367 MB/s write. This is a little less than advertised in the specs for the drive, but still very good overall.
SUMMARY
This is an easy to recommend drive for maximum performance and compatibility with your PS5. It is not the best value overall when looking at price per GB, but it is probably the easiest to install and get up and running. If you just want to get something that you know will work out of the box, then I can recommend the SN850P for your PS5.

The Rexing Charger, arrived just in time for my camping trip and long car drive. I need to charge our Chromebook (so my son could watch movies), charge my wife’s phone, and run my GPS for navigation.
All my devices worked great for a long drive, without any issues. All of our devices stayed charged and running properly.
The Rexing Charger feels heavy and well made. I expect to get long use from it. It also includes a long charger cable, which is a nice bonus.
There are indicator lights that show you what mode is working (Red = Laptop, Blue = Ipad, Green = Phones). This helps you determine if your devices are charging at optimal loads.
The charger even has an 18th month warranty. That’s amazing for something like a charger.
SUMMARY
If you are looking for a high-power output car charger, with multiple ports at a good value, then the Rexing BBY120WCHR is worth checking out.

Do I need a separate antenna for each TV in the house?
Generally, yes, or you need someway to amplify and split the signals to other TV's (which means running cable). So you have to do the math to see what makes the most sense for you. If you do decide to run cable, then don't cheap out on cable or amplifier. I would suggest you purchase from a reputable online retailers vs the local hardware store. Good Amplifiers / splitters will set up back $50 or more. Stay away from the $10 splitters. In theory this unit is already amplified, but I doubt it has enough power for very long runs.

Does this have a heatsink? And if not does Best Buy sell that version? I hear this thing kicks up the thermals a bit.
This version does not have a heatsink, I bought a 3rd party one for my setup.

Has anyone tried to clone this from an internal SATA 3 SSD with the Samsung software and had any boot issues????
In the past I've had nothing but issues cloning drives with the samsung tools. Fortunately one of my other drives came with ACRONIS which worked perfectly.

Do the read and write speeds depend on my current internet speed?
There is no relationship between internet speed and drive speed. The drive speed (and other factors) is how fast the drive can get information to the main CPU. The internet speed is moving data between systems externally (such as a website)

There is a little round disk that you plug into the wall, and the it magnetically attached to the vacuum. I think it is call induction charging (like on some cell phones). This way you don't have to fuss aligning a power adapter. I would assume it is also more child / youth friendly since there are no exposed ends with live power.
