I will say I have never played the game. I knew nothing about it. However, I found the movie super enjoyable. The 3D had some stellar scenes. It was really a visual stunner in both 3D & 4K. The steelbook is also very nice, but would have been better with a gloss or spot gloss finish.

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Surprisingly I enjoyed it more than Lego Movie (which I loved). It's incredibly funny, you almost have to watch it twice to catch all the one liners. The 3D is worth the buy - on par with Lego Movie. I think it will be enjoyable for kids & adults alike.

I LOVED this movie! One of my favorites of the year! They told the Kong story in a new unique way. It was a visual stunner in both 3D & 4K, but I enjoyed the 3D the most. It was definitely made with 3D in mind. Amazing soundtrack to boot! It was a huge hit within my whole family.

Loved It!! GREAT 3D!

Very underrated! This might be my favorite Star Trek movie! I have never been a fan of the original tv shows and movies, but these last 3 movies have been fantastic! (Maybe I should re-visit the originals.) The cast is super and loved the addition of Jaylah. Just fun and entertaining.
The 3D is about on par with Into the Darkness. I wish they would have pushed for stronger 3D this time, but it was still great and added to the film. The scenes at Yorktown were particularly strong. I definitely recommend buying the 3D combo pack!
I just wish the 3D had come in Steelbook! I hate to choose! This time I double dipped.

I don't get the hate for this movie! I loved it! It's just a lot of FUN that all members of the family can enjoy together. I think they did a great job of making it the new Ghostbusters and giving nods to the original. Funny, great special effects, and great cameos by the OG's.
I buy all 3D releases, and this is definitely one of my favorites of the year. There is a good mix of depth and occasional popouts at the appropriate times. Although, I think the popouts were a little better in theater.
The steelbook is also fantastic. Great artwork and gloss finish.
I will say I hated paying the high price for this one. Best Buy keeps raising the prices, and this one was not even on sale during release week. If I didn't love the movie so much, I wouldn't have bought it. Plus, they only had these in stores.

FUN and Nostalgic!

One of the most underrated films of the year! My entire family thoroughly enjoyed it. It's pretty creative and brings back a ton of memories. Anybody from that era will totally appreciate it. Who doesn't want to see all these games brought to life... in 3D!?! Don't hesitate to pick up the 3D combo pack, it adds to the experience! It's definitely worth paying extra! Bring on the sequel!

My family thoroughly enjoyed this film! It is well suited for all age groups. The steelbook is one of the best Best Buy has released thus far! Saves collectors from importing. Nice gloss and mild embossing! However, the best version of the film is the 3D... so it's such a shame that the steelbook didn't include the 3D disc. I hope that changes in future steelbook exclusives. So, if you want the best version of the film - - pick up the 3D. If you want the best packaging - - pick up the steelbook. I picked up both...

My family thoroughly enjoyed this film! It is well suited for all age groups. The BEST part is definitely the 3D! I buy a lot of 3D movies, and this is one of the best of 2014! I would call it medium to strong 3D at times. It greatly improves the action sequences. If you have the capabilities, do not hesitate to pick up the 3d over the 2D. I just wish the steelbook came with the 3D! (I ended up picking up both.)

Ignore any negative reviews. I really enjoyed this film by itself, but in 3D it's even better! There are quite a few "wow" scenes that were made to be viewed in 3D. It's not the best I've ever seen or what I expected, but it's definitely worth a pick up for the right price ($20 or less). And you don't need to be a fan of the genre to enjoy it...

GREAT Movie/GREAT 3D/GREAT Metalpak!

This is a must see movie of 2014! Fantastic movie with a great story and special effects! This is also one of the better 3D movies of the year. If you liked Rise of the Planet of the Apes and the originals... then don't hesitate to pick this up. It may be the best of the series.
If you are picking this up at Best Buy -- then definitely go with the metalpak over the amaray. The metalpak's are a lot nicer now, and this may be the best yet. Though try to pick it up in store, as Best Buy ships these in a manner that makes them very likely to come damaged.
