Roland Emmerich's drama set during the American Revolution, The Patriot gets the Superbit treatment on this two-disc set from Columbia/TriStar. As with all Superbit releases, the film is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1. English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, and Thai subtitles are accessible. Because Superbit technology uses up all of the memory on a disc in order to maximize the sound and picture quality of the film, the supplemental materials have been included on a second disc. These extras include three featurettes, deleted scenes, photo galleries, filmographies, and trailers. Whatever one thinks of the film, this is a great DVD.

Pretty good

Mel Gibson is a great actor and this movie is good, and you put the two together and get a pretty good movie. If you like action movies this is a movie for you.

While nobody believed that a parody of Scream (itself a parody) could ever work, Keenan Ivory Wayans, along with brothers Shawn and Marlon turned the concept into mega-bucks at the box office. The DVD version, while somewhat skimpy, is sure to please the film's legion of adolescent fans, while winning some new ones in the process. The picture is a solid 2.35:1 widescreen anamorphic transfer that has excellent depth and clarity. The sound is also done well, presented in Dolby Digital 5.0 with good use of surround in certain sequences. Extras are where the disc falls short. There are six deleted scenes, which are well worth watching, as well as a theatrical trailer. Those without a DVD-ROM drive, however, miss out on an interactive guide to the film, the script, a quiz, and character profiles. These are all interesting extras, and should be available to everyone. Scary Movie is a funny movie and is given decent treatment on DVD; but the lack of extras is a sore point.

Based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley, 300 takes over the screen like an invading horde. With all the gushing blood of a horror movie and the scope of a classic epic, the second film from Zack Snyder (who helmed the 2004 remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD) is an impressive visual spectacle. Director Zack Snyder Star Gerard Butler, Tom Wisdom, Andrew Pleavin, Vincent Regan, Lena Headey, David Wenham, Special Features Widescreen Audio Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround - English, French, Spanish Subtitles - English, French, Spanish Additional Material Audio Commentary - Zack Snyder - Director; Kurt - Writer; Larry Fong - Director of Photography Trailer Runtime 116 minutes Year of 2007.

Ridley Scott did produce this movie and he is the same person who did Sin City and both of those movies (300 and Sin City) are great movies and the special effects in both of those movies are very good and 300 is just worst seeing for t6he special effects.

The Fairy tale for adults, it was great and the costumes are very good, the fact that it was in Spanish (and that i am not 100% fluent in Spanish) i had to turn on the sub-titles, but this movie was so good i forgot that i was reading for 2 hours.

Good

Crash is a good movie and i thought that this movie showed people what other race do to each other and in the long run it will bit them in the back and haunt them for a long period of time. The fact that it did win best picture is not just because of the performance of the actors but because of what the movie showed hot people treat each other.

Good But not Great

Hot Fuzz was a great movie, but i saw Saun Of The Dead first what i thought they did a much better performance in. Another thing that what was good about Hot Fuzz they took stuff from Saun Of The Dead and did it in Hot Fuzz. I recommend this movie, but watch Saun Of the Dead first.

This movie was not the best of comic book movies, they could have improved. (if you like these types of movies watch Batman Begins)

This movie is a great Docudrama type of movie, and the reason i do not give it 5 stars is because i thought it got slightly boring in some parts of the movie what they could have shortened.

One of the most acclaimed thrillers of the 1990s has been given yet another release on DVD. This edition of The Silence of the Lambs has been given a pan-and-scan transfer to disc in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1 (a letterboxed widescreen version is also available). The original English-language soundtrack has been remixed for playback in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a dubbed French-language track appears in Dolby Digital Surround, and another track dubbed in Spanish is in Dolby Digital Mono. Subtitles in English, French, and Spanish are also included. As a bonus, this release also features the film's original theatrical trailer, as well as previews for other MGM Home Entertainment releases.
