It's a surge protection device and as such, I wouldn't know if all of the features work unless and until I get a surge then I would see if it indeed protected the attached devices. All I can say for sure is that Dynex has a pretty good reputation, so I will have to trust that it will do the job.

This is my first smart TV, so I really don't really have any experience to compare this TV with others. However, I researched the internet and compared the picture to other TVs in the store. In my opinion, this TV is the best value out there. I've seen other "non-smart" TVs with the same picture resolution for about the same price.
Set up was pretty much a no-brainer. It detected and connected to my wireless easily, although I later connected via wired Ethernet.
I'm definitely not a TV "purest," and the picture and sound are definitely more than adequate for my family. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a value-priced smart TV.
