He finds some competition by one Erica Sharpe, who has come up with an army of evil toys. Soon the two factions are at war with each other during the Christmas season.

Two great series

Two great series, one bad movie. This should have been a masterpiece , but it wasnt made by the creator of both series. The movie would get a 2 but I gave it a 3 out of respect to the series.

Ron Howard's kidnapping thriller Ransom comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. The film has neither looked nor sounded better on home video. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and a French soundtrack has also been included. The extensive supplemental materials include a detailed commentary by Howard. He discusses many elements of the production and is full of praise for his cast. Those who like insider gossip will greatly enjoy the story of what happened the day Mel Gibson was nominated for an Oscar for directing Braveheart. Numerous deleted scenes have been included, and two behind-the-scenes featurettes allow the actors to talk about the process of making the film. This disc was released simultaneously with a number of Ron Howard films that have all been outfitted with quality extras.

This movie was too predicatable. Good actors in this movie, but the movie was just sub par. You know from the beginning what is going to happen. Pass on this one folks.

The old saying about being careful what you wish for has never resonated as much as in this chilling tale of a grieving father who summons up vengeance in the flesh to kill a group of careless teens who caused the accidental death of his son. Presented in standard 1.33:1 full-screen pan-and-scan only, and featuring a closed-captioned English Dolby Digital Surround soundtrack with optional Spanish and French subtitles, this release features little more than an original theatrical trailer in the way of extra features.

I really enjoyed this movie. Lance Henriksen is great in it and plays a superb character. Lots of creepy atmosphere in this movie. Good effects with Pumpkinhead.

Only buy this movie if you can get it cheap. Very bad movie, but it does look good on Blu Ray. Avoidable

Thanks to his innovative use of stop-action animation and his imagination, Ray Harryhausen became one of the first great special-effects experts in Hollywood. This box set combines five of the films that best display his unique talents. Jason and the Argonauts, The Three Worlds of Gulliver, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, and The Golden Voyage of Sinbad are each presented in their original theatrical aspect ratio.

This low-budget, tongue-in-cheek horror film of the slasher genre -- which had recently been popularized by Halloween (1978) -- stars that film's lead, Jamie Lee Curtis, as Kim Hammond, a prom queen who becomes a scream queen. Six years ago, a little girl was taunted by four classmates and fell to her death from an abandoned schoolhouse. The quartet of kids promised to keep their complicity in the accident a secret. Now it's their prom night and they've got the jitters because they have recently been receiving phone calls and notes from an ominous, unknown individual claiming to have witnessed the girl's death and vowing revenge. At the prom, the four become fatal victims one by one of a mysterious, axe-wielding, masked, and hooded stalker. The many possibilities of the murderer's identity include Kim, who is the little dead girl's sister, her school-principal father (Leslie Nielsen), or her disc-jockey brother, Alex (Michael Tough).

Jamie Lee Curtis does fairly well in this movie. Good story, lower budget horror movie. Somewhat of a classic. Good fun, just not great.

The second and third installments in the chilling Poltergeist film series come together in this set from MGM Home Entertainment. Both films star the late Heather O'Rourke as young Carol Anne and are presented in widescreen with English and French Stereo soundtracks, Spanish mono soundtracks and subtitles in all three languages. Also included are the films' original theatrical trailers.

These movies are ok. The bonus is they come together for roughly the price of one movie. Do not expect too see a movie as good as the first one though.

Fox offers yet another excellent DTS audio transfer for Predator. During the scenes witnessed from the eyes of the alien, the rear speakers are wonderfully utilized to hear the soldiers' barely comprehensible voices. The depth of the sound field in these scenes helps to heighten the suspense of the film. The crisp DTS sounds shine during several shootout scenes, especially when all the soldiers fire at the unseen jungle for several minutes. This disc also includes a well-done 5.1-channel Dolby Digital transfer, as well as a decent 2.0-channel Dolby Surround track. The 1.85:1 widescreen anamorphic transfer on this disc is surprisingly uneven and varied. During certain scenes, the events on the screen shine with brilliance and clarity, while other portions contain large amounts of grain that hinder the overall presentation of the film. Overall, the visuals are stunning and work well, but the intermittent poor moments keep it from being an excellent transfer. This disc contains no extra features except for a brief theatrical trailer, which is presented in a full-screen format that is around VHS quality. It's nice to see a preview that gives away very little about the plot of the film. Of course, at that time, Arnold Schwarzenegger's name was enough to draw hordes of fans to a picture. The menus on this disc are amateurish and poor; in fact, they rank with some of the worst on any recent DVD.

This is one of my all time Arnold favorites. You also get Rowdy Roddy Piper and Carl Weathers. Great movie with lots of action and gore.

The Micmac burial grounds in Ludlow, ME, are once again used to bring back the disgruntled dead in director Mary Lambert's sequel to the Stephen King-inspired movie Pet Sematary. Pet Sematary Two features an anamorphic 1.85:1 widescreen transfer that looks fairly well done. While some defects are present, including some grain and edge enhancement, colors look bright overall and black levels are solid. Audio is presented in a Dolby Digital 5.1 mix that sounds very good. All aspects of the dialogue, music, and effects are clean, with no distortion present. There are some instances of directional sound with the 5.1 surround feature, but overall this is a slightly subdued track. Also included on this disc is a Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround track in English and French, as well as English subtitles. Those looking for some insightful extras about this movie will be apt to look elsewhere. The only extra feature Paramount has decided to add to this disc is an original theatrical trailer for Pet Sematary Two presented in non-anamorphic widescreen.

Watchable yet bad. Edward Furlong is in this movie, if that does anything for you. I bought it because it was cheap and I buy practically anything horror related.
