Brilliant Album

I could write pages on how great this album is. Layne Staley was a master frontman. He had a wonderful voice and with the help of Jerry Cantrell, wrote many superb songs!!! This is the first major label release from AIC and is not too be missed.

A widescreen anamorphic transfer can be found on this DVD of William Hurt's debut from the novel by Paddy Chayefsky. English and French subtitles are included. The picture is naturally colored, but a bit hazy and dark. Although the remastered Dolby Digital Audio produces rich audio tones, the visual special effects are dated and look rather obviously matted over one another. Included as special features are brief cast biographies/filmographies (text only), two theatrical trailers, two TV spots (TV trailers basically) called "The Most Dangerous Experiment" and "Float Naked," and a text-only behind-the-scenes section. A small booklet included with the DVD case offers brief production notes.

All I can say about this movie is that it is brilliant. Buy it and enjoy it for yourself. It is very bizarre, but I wouldn't completely call it horror.

Great movies but box set.. Overpriced
on November 2, 2007

The movies within the box are well worth getting. For some reaon though the box set is way overpriced. Just buy them all seperatly and save yourself a lot of money. Why pay for a piece of cardboard?

For 250 years, a towering man-beast with wings and razor-talons has been snacking on humans in the forests of New Jersey's Pine Barrens, where investigator Christine Tatum (Michelle Maryk) is sent by the District Attorney (Lesley-Anne Down) to get to the bottom of a recent rash of mutilations. Once there, Tatum meets eccentric recluse Shroud (Cliff Robertson).

This is a low budget movie that doesn't produce. Not really worth your time too watch, unless you really love the Jersey Devil.

A child's toy becomes a mother's worst nightmare in the popular 1980s horror movie Child's Play. Sadly, MGM has dropped the ball by producing a 1.33:1 full frame transfer of this film. Overall, the colors appear sharp and black levels dark and solid. However, this image sports a lot of grain, dirt, and some edge enhancement. The audio is presented in Dolby Stereo in French and English and sounds only passable. While the bulk of this track is free of any hiss or distortion, most of the soundtrack is only filtered through the center and front speakers. Also included on this disc are closed captions in English. The only extra features to be found on this disc include a theatrical trailer for the film and a collectable booklet. Maybe in the future MGM will produce a much better edition of this horror classic; until then, fans are stuck with this mediocre disc.

Uli Edel's family friendly vampire movie The Little Vampire comes to DVD with a pair of transfers. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, and is preferable in every way to the standard full-frame image. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include interactive games, monster themed jokes, and recipes for monster themed snacks. Those with a DVD-ROM drive can access the film's website, a screensaver, and can jump from the script to that point in the film. No matter what one thinks of the film, this is a strong release from New Line that contains extras to entertain every member of the family.

Inspired by the popular Disneyland ride, The Haunted Mansion stars Eddie Murphy as the head of a family that finds itself vying against a group of 999 ghosts in the titular abode. Also starring Jennifer Tilly and Terence Stamp, the film comes to DVD in widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. A dubbed French audio track in Dolby Digital Stereo and Spanish are also included. Along with the feature presentation, the disc is packed with supplemental extras. Among the bells and whistles are a blooper reel, a collection of deleted scenes, a virtual tour of the mansion, and two behind-the-scenes featurettes. For viewers with DVD-ROM capabilities, there is additional bonus material, including a history of the theme-park-attraction behind the movie, a ghost maker, photo galleries, and desktop themes. A full-screen version with the same features is also available.

Horrible movie

The ride at Disney World is legendary. This movie unfortunately is junk. The effects are nice, but the story is just plain aweful.

Wesley Snipes stars in this action-packed sequel to Blade, which has been given a slimmed down, but well-executed, presentation for this single-disc edition and follows New Line Home Entertainment's lavish two-DVD release of the same title. Blade II has been transferred to disc in letterboxed format at the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Viewers have a choice of three audio options: Dolby Digital Surround, Dolby Digital EX 5.1, and DTS ES 6.1. All three tracks are in English, and this edition features no language options or bonus materials.

More vampire killing, good action and effects. Not as good as the first, but what sequel is? If you liked the first one, you will like this one.

Directed by Dwight H. Little, Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid is the sequel to 1997's tongue-in-cheek Anaconda, though none of the original cast have returned. The film chronicles a fateful mission ordered by a pharmaceutical giant: to travel deep in to the jungles of Borneo, where a rare black orchid -- one that can be used to attain immortality -- has bloomed for hundreds of years, unbeknownst to man. The eager horticulturists sent have no idea that an indigenous population of bloodthirsty anacondas has been privy to the orchid's properties for years. Not only have the orchids augmented their already phenomenal size, strength, and vitality, they've substantially increased the snakes' appetites for flesh. Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid features Peter Curtis, Johnny Messner, Morris Chestnut, and Eugene Byrd.

I enjoyed this more than the first one. Lots of Snake action in this one. Fairly good Snake special effects, good amount of gore, and decent story.
