Sleepy Hollow, Tim Burton's evocative, somewhat grisly adaptation of the classic Washington Irving story, comes to DVD with one of the most lavish and fully realized presentations yet for a Burton film. Starting with a widescreen, anamorphic transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 and Surround Audio, the disc also features extras like an engaging and informative commentary by Burton, cast and crew interviews, biographies/filmographies, a photo gallery, the theatrical trailers, and a "making of" featurette. The commentary and interviews are especially entertaining, revealing how much camaraderie Burton has with actors like Jeffrey Jones, Johnny Depp, and Christina Ricci. Though separate, more in-depth sections on how the film's special effects were achieved would have been nice, the featurette covers enough of Sleepy Hollow's behind-the-scenes work to make it worthwhile. Along with the DVDs of Edward Scissorhands and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, this disc plays to the strengths of Burton's quirky, visually striking directorial style -- and also suggests that deluxe versions of Batman and Batman Returns will be even more impressive.

This movie brings back too life the tale of ichabod Crane. The movie is also from the mind of Tim Burton. The mix of the two as well as the acting of Johnny Drpp and co-stars plays out brilliantly. Very well done, great effects. Superb Dvd!!!

The original too me was scarier. That may be because it scared the crud out of me when I was little. This movie has awesome effects and is one of the better remakes out there. This movie also has a lot of jump out of your seat scenes. Very good movie!!!
What's great about it: Ryan Reynolds acted very well in this film
Johnny Depp, Frank Langella, Lena Olin. Directed by Roman Polanski. An occult book dealer hired to locate two rare books finds his search becoming increasingly disturbing-and dangerous-in this haunting thriller. 2000/color/133 min/R/widescreen.

I enjoyed this movie more than your average reviewer. I thought it was a very interesting story and Johnny Depp acted great. Wierd ending that made sense but it was just kinda nuts. Nothing too special about any extras on this dvd. Just a good price and decent movie. Worth picking up.
Halloween: Resurrection is presented beautifully in super-clear 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with crystal-clear English 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround that makes the great soundtrack pop. Also included are French 5.1 Surround, English captions and subtitles, and Spanish subtitles. Buena Vista jammed the disc with hoards of goodies that promise to keep viewers entertained for hours. Nothing too earth-shattering is present, but plenty of "film fluff" to satisfy the cinema sweet tooth. To start, there are nearly ten minutes of deleted scenes and three alternate endings presented in 2.35:1 non-anamorphic widescreen with optional commentary. Three schmaltzy featurettes and a stills gallery are provided. The "WebCam Special," a 40-minute film sequence of the Myers house, is a must-see. Lastly, there's a rather dull screen-specific audio commentary with director Rick Rosenthal and editor Robert Ferretti.

It's about time that The Lost Boys got a two-disc special edition, delivered here by Warner Bros. in a packed release that truly lives up to the hype. With a brand-new digital transfer, the anamorphic 2.35:1 widescreen image wondrously shows off Michael Chapman's photography, and the Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track is full of the stuff your speakers are made to pump out. Bonus features are filled with high-class documentaries and innovative bonus features that will give even your most average Lost Boys fan enough to geek out about. The fun starts with a commentary by Joel Schumacher, a guy who deserved a bad rep for his crippling of the Batman franchise, but is still entertaining in his own right and, as the rest of the disc will tell you, is the main reason why this film is so greatly loved as a horror comedy classic. The track is pretty fun, as the director quips out his "Joelisms" on everything from Ms. Piggy to oral sex (though very thankfully not together!). Additional material includes the 24-minute "Lost Boys: A Retrospective" documentary and four more featurettes that make up the "Inside the Vampire's Cave" section. Both feature interviews from producer Richard Donner and others (Dianne Wiest, Jami Gertz, and Jason Patrick excluded) while covering the production's history through the long-rumored sequel -- which Edward Herrmann is all about, by the way! Add in another featurette on Greg Cannon's makeup effects that features a few cut creations that never saw the big screen and a photo gallery, and you're just getting to the really good stuff. Ten minutes of deleted scenes, an interactive map of vampire mythology from around the world, the original theatrical trailer, and a music video from Lou Gramm also grace the disc, though the big news comes with the return of Sam and the fabulous Frog brothers! That's right, first there's the obnoxiously titled "Haimster and Feldog: The Story of the Two Coreys," which finds the ex-stars looking like they're on the mend (even if one's a little less frazzled and bloated than the other) as they take the viewer through their incredible rise to fame and eventual separation under the spotlight. The second gets right to the goods and presents all three actors -- including the elusive other Frog brother, Jamison Newlander -- in their own selectable video commentaries played over an 18-minute compilation of all of their scenes together in the film. While it would have been nice to have had them all together, this is an interesting way to approach the material and is worth it to see more dead-eyed Corey Haim. Given the film's wide following, this edition is sure to be a moneymaker, and deservedly so. Extra credit goes to the studio for using the now-iconic cover art instead of the miserable Photoshop work that graced most re-releases during this time.

This movie was very fun to watch. Heck I paid twice as much as it is now, and still love the movie. This movie is down right amusing, and has lots of gore, guts and splatter. You will recognize lots of actors in this movie. This movie was made too be gross and fun, and it hits that mark perfectly!!!
What's great about it: Tons of Splatter and Carnage

This movie when it came out, seemed too freak a lot of people out. I also remember many people actually thinking it was real!! That was great work on the directores part. Overall this is a very enjoyable movie too watch. IF you could watch it outdoors in a woods, it might be very scary. Inside though on your couch, not that scary.
The unstoppable Jason is back for another round of knocking off teens in the ninth installment of the Friday the 13th series, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. The film is presented in a passable 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. While the image often sports dark scenes and even darker color patterns, overall this is a decent print with solid black levels and little-to-no edge enhancement in the picture. The soundtrack is presented in both Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround as well as DTS Surround, both in English. Both of these soundtracks feature a full range of Surrounds and directional effects. Each track is clear of any hiss or excessive distortion, making this one of the best Friday the 13th audio mixes available on DVD. Also included on this disc is a Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround soundtrack, along with English subtitles. Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday includes a few extra features that should really "slay" fans of the series. Starting off the disc is a commentary track by Adam Marcus and screenwriter Dean Lorey. This is a very humorous track that features tons of gooey info on the production of the film. A few deleted scenes (originally used to pad the TV version of the film) are included which allow the fans a glimpse of what ended up on the cutting-room floor. Finally there is a theatrical trailer for the film and a fun "Jump to a Death" scene menu.

I would say this was the worst one of the Friday the 13th's, but hten they came out with Jason X. This movie is still enjoyable especially if you are a Jason fan!! This movie has its good death scenes and gore. Not scary though.
What's great about it: Jason
What's not so great: Way too unrealistic, even for this series.
