works with non-apple router and android smartphone

I use it in...:Apartment
You've already read many reviews about how the Apple TV inregrates seamlessly with new apple devices, but what about non-apple devices? Well, first off, I am using a Netgear wireless router. Streaming to the Apple TV using pre-installed apps (Netflix, YouTube) was flawless. but I could not get Airplay to work. After scouring the internet for a solution, it turns out the fix is this:
Go it the router's settings (mine was web-based). Find the "Qos" setting and disable "WMM".
Now all my iDevices stream flawlessly. I also have an Android smartphone and using a free app called "Twonky Beam" I am able to get videos and pictures to the Apple TV.
What's great about it: small, easy to use, great integration with new apple devices
What's not so great: set-up with non-apple devices was complicated
I would recommend this to a friend!

Epic rock zeuhlness

If you've heard about this CD, then you are probably already a fan of Magma. Just go ahead and buy it. Now. For where ever you can. This is the best "new" composition from Christian Vander. The sound harkens back to MDK, Wurdah Itah, Theusz Hamtaahk. Sure you've probably heard snippets of it from Inedits, but in this album it is coherent and magnificent. I always get goosebumps whenever I get to the "alleluia" ending. I was very fortunate to see and hear the band play it live. Talk about a religious experience!
My Best Buy number: 2134770743
What's great about it: best "new" music from the band
What's not so great: Not actually available in store

Mario may be one heck of a plumber, but he's a pretty stingy penny-pincher. For all the coins he's earned over the years, you'd think he'd gladly pay you the fees for visiting your string of shops. But after you've allowed him to enjoy a nice visit, the hairs on his mustache stood on end when you gave him the bill. Oh, well. He may have saved the Princess, but that doesn't mean he's getting a free ride. Rules are rules, and Mario owes you some moola.Use your money-making skills to play the real estate game and stock markets as you race around more than 15 game boards in Fortune Street. Select your character from an impressive roster of classic Nintendo characters from Dragon Quest, the Mushroom Kingdom and more, or choose to play as your own Mii character. As you move around the board, collect symbols to cash in at the bank, buy property and string together shops to increase price value ~ so you can charge players more dough for landing there. Learn the basics in "easy rules," and once you've got the hang of it, challenge yourself with deeper strategy options and the ability to play the virtual stock market in the more advanced "standard rules." If you keep buying property, the Mushroom Kingdom will have to pawn the throne to pay you your dues.

Monopoly + stock market + minigames

It's "monopoly" at its core, so the gameplay is long, really long. But if you have at least an hour or 2 to kill, this game is great. There is save option, so you can always exit the pick up where you left off. I played the "normal" version (with buying and selling stocks) and it's really not that complicated. The does a great job of explaining the game mechanics on the fly. That said, this game is best suited for an older player, maybe not your 3 year old.
What's great about it: Beautiful graphics, sounds, it's Mario!
What's not so great: long, really long gameplay

I can't wait to get home to play the game

Awesome story. Stunning visuals. Haunting soundtrack. There so much to enjoy and love with this game. By far the best Wii U game I've had. The processing power of the Wii U really shines with this game. The game does get a bit laggy when the screen is full of opponents. Despite this, the fight gameplay is so satisfying and beautiful to play and watch. Replay value is awesome. I played it once to get through the story and get all the trophies and complete all the side quests. I played it again in "plus" mode. Now I can't wait to create a new profile and play it again. The game did hang on me, maybe 3 times where I'll need to unplug and restart the Wii U console. Also, I can't advance in the Harley Quinn campaign when I'm playing it the second time around.

What's not so great: slight lag, a few glitches

What a great idea!

This product is a no-brainer. It mounts my GPS on the dash and does not slip. It is not permanent so I can hide it (and my GPS) when not in use. It's amazing that this simple product just simply works.
What's great about it: Non-permanent on-dash mount. So easy!
What's not so great: Pricey, looks weird at first.

Best Guitar Hero game out there.
on November 7, 2009

Out of all the iterations of Guitar Hero this may be the best once yet -- but for reasons of gameplay and compatibility and not song list. It seems like the best songs are already taken by previous Guitar Hero and Rock Band games and I will not fault the game for this.
The best features of GH5 are:
1. the ability to play 2 or more guitars - instead of having to fight over who will play guitar or bass
2. party play - anyone can drop-in or drop-out as they choose
3. compatibility with Rock Band instruments (finally! RB instruments are so much better)
I still prefer Rock Band 2 over GH5 though. In GH5, the note charts are still overly difficult (a good thing for other players, but not for me) and graphics are still cartoony (which bothers me and not others). I predict that the success of GH5 will be determined by the growing number of pay-to-download songs (in which RB2 already has a massive collection) and the ability to import songs from older Guitar Hero games (such as World Tour and Smash Hits) for a small fee, which I haven't yet done.
What's great about it: Play 2 or more guitars at the same time, compatible with Rock Band instruments
What's not so great: Still too cartoony, note chart still too hard

Good, if you are a fan of Wii Fit.

If already own the Wii balance board and like Wii Fit, I would say go ahead and buy Wii Fit plus as this is more or less an expansion pack. You get more balance games, a couple more yoga poses and exercises. The best new feature of Wii Fit Plus is the option to choose a workout regimen tailored to the time you have to exercise or to your target areas. Being able to weight your pet is also nice. Navigating around the menus is better but still a pain.
If you are new to Wii Fit, don't expect it to be your only source for losing weigth or getting buffed. Instead, think of it as an additional tool to motivate you to live healthy.
What's great about it: More games, weighs pets, prepared workouts
What's not so great: menu navigation still too tedious

A perfect album
on July 25, 2009
Posted by: DocZeuhl

I've always maintained that "Throwing Copper" was one of those few perfect albums - no filler tracks, each song as strong as the other. I bought it on cassette tape when it first came out, I got bought the CD after I got my first CD player. I've lost the CD twice and re-bought it twice. I took a long break from popular rock songs but now I have been craving to hear this album again. I'm not even a big Live fan - there are a couple of great songs on their first album, and Secret Samadhi and later albums do nothing for me. Throwing Copper remains to me a perfect example of great 90s rock music.
What's great about it: Each track, including the bonus tracks are very strong.
What's not so great: Nothing.

Magma iss de hundin!

Wow. Just. Wow. KA comes decades after their last (andt least, in my opinion) album, Merci. However, Vander has not been idle - aside from various solo and collaborative projects, he has put together a new Magma line-up, polished their sound, and now comes back true to form. Culled from various musical pieces over the years, KA is a complete epic masterpiece. Fans of Magma's classic pieces MDK, Wurdah Itah, and Theusz Hamtaahk will want to hear KA and get it for themselves.
What's great about it: Magma's recent is also one of their greatest.
What's not so great: Import price.

One of my all time favorites.

Electronica, Progressive Rock, Art Rock, New Age, Synth Rock...whatever you want to call it -- this is simply a great album. All instrumental, heavy on sequenced synthesizers with hefty rock-driven drums, "Stand By" is my favorite Heldon/Richard Pinhas album. In fact it is one of my favorite albums. Period. Fans of Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze who want more "rock" in their synth-music should pick this album up.
What's great about it: Great synthesizer-driven rock instrumentals.
What's not so great: Nothing.
