Entertaining

I love all the transformers movies, just because they're entertaining. I know they're not critically acclaimed for the acting or the heart-wrenching story like say a Terms of Endearment, but they're not supposed to be. They're action, they're visually spectacular, and very fun! It's escapism at it's best. Watching these movies with a nice surround system is a must. The explosions, the sounds of the transforming, all of it is a much better experience with surround and a good subwoofer! I can do without 2 things in the movies...the eye candy that is the chicks in short shorts! To me, it just doesn't add to the movie. I guess because I'm not a adolescent teenage boy. Secondly, is the language. it seems like all sequels, things are pushed further each time another one is made. There was more profanity in this one than the others. It too doesn't add to the movie. My 4 year old son loves Transformers, too and I don't want him picking up the language. I know one day he will be exposed to it, but c'mon! These movies are enjoyed by all age groups, Michael Bay, please tone down those 2 things and all will be well. Mark Wahlberg did a good job in the movie... I like his movies anyway. I didn't miss Shia LaBeouf or any of the other actors from the previous ones. Also, this one had more work done on the video side. The greens were way greener. My wife noticed that almost everyone had colored eyes, and over exaggerated at that. I didn't mind all that, but it did seem a little weird. I loved the robots! All of them were too cool...Lockdown is a bad dude! His walk, his whole demeanor...I found myself liking him. Those Dinobots were massive! I can't wait to watch it again...and for the next one, which is probably already in the works.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is an absolute blast and fans young and old will be delighted with how well it establishes Captain America as the hero we've always known him as. It is in my opinion the finest movie Marvel Studios has ever made(Iron Man being a very very close second), and also the darkest, and i mean dark. This is NOT the family friendly action film that the first Avengers and Iron Man movies were, more people die in this film than all the Rambo films combined, even the comedy people have become accustomed to seeing in a Marvel movie takes a backseat in this Espionage action flick. I applaud Marvel Studios for not compromising Captain America and the Winter Soldier's characters to give this movie a more family friendly feel. This was such a massive improvement from the first Cap movie whose focus was more about being the catalyst for The Avengers film than as a fully fleshed out Cap film. From the acting, to the action/special effects, and the story, this is everything that a Captain America movie should be, even the Apple customer service guy was awesome, and just try to keep your eyes from watering up when Cap visits an old friend from the past. Here we're shown the life of a man who is living a mentally and physically punishing existence, still trying to get a better understanding of the decade he's living in, all the while shouldering the responsibility of being a figurehead and an essential member of a global organization. From start to Finish the tension remains high as Cap and the others put their lives on the line to stop Hydra, and blood will be shed. This movie has raised the bar to a whole new level for Marvel and i can only hope we get another one like this, not only is this an excellent standalone film, but it also perfectly sets the stage for an even more interesting Avengers 2. So check this movie out and see the most bad-A 95-year-old the world has ever known, Cap's orders.

great movie

Great movie probably the best in the series... but, apparently it's not the full movie! This came on sale early through AIV and I had promotional credits. WIN/WIN. Except, now it's been revealed that there will be an extended version including scenes with the character Rogue. So, I'm glad I got to watch this movie early, I am NOT happy that I own the movie in its short-version and the longer one is coming out later. With the LOTR series I know not to buy the initial version and always wait for the extended. Now I'm hesitant to buy any movie out-of-the-gate because of this irritating double-dipping of the studios. They should always announce when there will be an additional/extended/director's cut of a film before the movie goes on sale. Or maybe I should always download a movie and not buy it until I know I'm getting my money's worth.

FANTASTIC MOVIE
