The Canon EOS 7D is Canon's semi-pro / enthusiast digital crop sensor SLR. It's a terrific SLR that shines in photo quality, control placement, speed, and viewfinder size and coverage.
First, let me tell you a little about myself so you can gauge what my expectations for the camera are. I'm strictly a hobbyist photographer and use my camera a couple of times a month at museums, outdoor parks, and vacations. Besides photos of my dog, my photography consists primarily of static subjects. This is my second SLR.
Enough of me, onto the camera. The 7D is a fairly bulky SLR and dwarfs "entry level" models such as the Olympus E-510 (see my photos), though it's no bigger than Nikon's D300s. With that said, it's not uncomfortably large and is easy enough to carry around all day. Build quality is terrific and the camera has a solid, luxury feel to it. The 7D fits very well into my average sized hands and, with the kit 28-135 lens, is nicely balanced. All the buttons are easy to reach and, if you've used a Canon camera before, easy to figure out. The magnesium body is sealed against moisture and dust. The shutter button is well placed and has a nicely defined halfway point. A control dial is on the back of the camera and behind the shutter button too. There is also a joystick-like toggle on the back of the camera as well.
A large (3") and high-resolution (920,000 pixel) screen is on the camera back with a secondary status LCD display on the top (with backlight). The screen is a pleasure to use when reviewing images for focus, and when manually focusing in magnified live view mode.
Photo quality is terrific. There are various Picture Styles you can choose to alter the contrast, sharpness, color tone, and saturation of the photos. At any rate, 99% of the time, colors are natural, exposure is accurate, and dynamic range is great. At this level of camera, that's expected though. What I really love about the 7D is the high ISO noise, or lack thereof. The luxury of feeling confident while shooting at high ISO is priceless. I've taken a good number of shots as high as ISO 3200 and have no complaints. Of course there is a bit of noise, and the mushiness that noise reduction brings, but for an 18 MP image at ISO 3200, I have no complaints. The ISO speeds above 3200 are OK as well, but I'll reserve those for emergency use only, they get fairly processed looking. (Updating this section a bit: Since the 7D is over 3 years old at this point its high ISO shooting is not as good as it once was relative to the competition. I have a Canon G1 X and the Fuji X100 and they both do a bit better at ISO 1600 and higher. Having said that I doubt anyone would complain about the 7D's high ISO results, but you should be aware that sensor technology has gotten better since the 7D was introduced.) The relatively large APS-C sensor not only allows for low noise, but also allows me to produce nicely blurred backgrounds and great depth of field. I couldn't achieve the same degree of that effect with the smaller 4/3 sensor in the Olympus, and I certainly couldn't do it with my point and shoot cameras unless I was in macro mode. There is an Auto Lighting Optimizer feature that attempts to correct photos that are hard to correctly expose (e.g. big difference between shadows or highlights in a scene). It works well for the most part, but, depending on the subject, the differences are very subtle. There is also an image highlight tone priority option available in the menu system that limits the lowest ISO setting to 200 and helps preserve highlights a bit, but it too, is subtle.

I have a Canon7D which is a heavy camera and I have an extra flash and a fish eyes lens as an add on. I'm a photographer and for the price your getting a great deal. The guy with the bad review, maybe just received a bad one and that shouldn't be a reason to give this great product a great such a bad review. So far I love it, it doesn't have a pistol grip like some more higher end tripods but you get used to this one. I have used it about 5 times and even on some shoots at night while using the bulb mode and when you use that feature in the camera. By any movement causes from the tripod it will make a night pic look blurry and so far it hasn't. My pics look great and if you compare from a more expensive tripod. You'll be happy with this one. I looked every where on the internet and looked at reviews and for this price and with the cool features this one offers, I doubt you have much to complain about. This tripod is about as professional gets for that price and ones you get used to it, you'll be happy with it. It didn't come with a bag but I bought mine on amazon for $20 and now my investment is covered good warranty too. Basically if you have a heavy camera that weighs about 7 pounds this tripod will hold your camera without any problems or movement and for the price you'll love it!
What's great about it: It's a little heavy and seems sturdy for the money.
What's not so great: No pistol grip.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ok, so..... I read a few riviews and I recorded a lil video and downloaded to my laptop before I bought it and I have to say I did hear that you could here some sounds but here's what people should know. Most Hi definition camera's have a very sensitive microphone even if you buy a more expensive one a friend of mine bought a professional one he does comercial and I don't but the video is very close so ok when it comes to the sound you can't turn the volume that loud because if you do it sounds distorded and this microphone is very sensitive period so with just turning it up have way you would get an amazing sound and I turned it to half way and the video and picture was truly amazing and I have to say. I'm truly happy that I bought this camera I could of spent more but that's why there's memory cards and make sure you get one with a class 4 or higher or the memory card won't work it's the little number on the memory card just a thought. A lot of people do not know and I don't want them to buy a memory card that doesn't work and if you don't know ask the guys at best buy and tell them you need a class 4 memory card but this camera is truly amazing and mess with it and you won't find a flaw especially for this prize. Hi definition cameras are very expensive and this one does what a more expensive one would excpet for the bigger hard drive a more expensive one cost but every thing else is the same graphics and microphone so for the prize and what this video camera offers it's truly amazing and I know a lot about technology and I always keep up with everything new that comes out. This camera is actually very easy to operate as well, I might just be good with technology I never have to read any manuals so I was truly satisfied with everything.
What's great about it: The picture and sound it's amazing!!!
What's not so great: Nothing!!!

I bought this game when it came out and man, I was truly amazed by the HD graphics and sounds it offers and the controls of the game are sharp and man it's has to be one of the best game ever! A must have game for anyone with a PS3 period just an amazing game once it's hooked up to an HD tv and wow, the one of the games games, buy it, if you don't already have it!
What's great about it: everthing from the sound and the graphics and the control.
What's not so great: Nothing!

Wow! This game brought back a lot of memories from when I was a kid and and I just like to buy good games and when I got it I was amazed by how much improved it was and I was happy buying this game loved it!

If you hate fighting games, you will hate it, oh. I love fighting games but this game is so much fun and I grew up playing every street fighter on all the systems that came out before the once we have now and when I saw this game on tv I checked it out bought it and you can't say anything about the graphics, if you have a cheap TV, you need an HD TV period. I have mine hooked up to my 40 inch and the graphics and sound are truly amazing and I love it there's not a bad thing about it and some people are just bad at video games period and say its hard. That's so not the case if your into good fighting games you will love the graphics truly the best fighting games and the Combos some are hard but if you practice you will be pretty darn good and if you don't practice of course your going to suck. By far one of the best games I have had and I have had it since it game out and I just can't believe the bad reviews about this amazing game! Dont buy this game if you have a cheap tv because you cant see the game how it was meant to be but if you have an "HD TV" and its hooked up to the HDMI it will look truly amazing and the sound just every thing is crisp about it, don't hate on this game, it's one of the best.
What's great about it: The graphics and the sound in HD!
What's not so great: Nothing!

whats the differance in 720/1080 tvs
1080p is the best picture and LED is the best so far but 780 is just as good it's very hard to tell the difference just as long as you have a Hi Definition source such as cable or satellitie it will look very good the most important thing when you buy a tv is the brand and I have 5 LCDS and just bought a 65inch LED and it looks the best from all of them. Go for the brand when yu buy a tv and Samsung and Panasonic make the best tvs so maybe that should help you.

How do I get my TV picture to look as clear as the TV in the stores?
I purchased a Sharp flat screen and the picture isn't as clear as it appeared in the store?
First of all, do you have a Hi Definition source? Such as cable or satellite? If you don't you can buy a Hi Definition antenna and recieve your local and your tv is Hi Definition so your tv has to be hooked up to a bluray player to the HDMI or the cable box or the Satellite. The thing the new LCD tvs such as the PLASMAS and LCDS are Hi Definition and it has to be hooked up to the cable that says HDMI and those cables are seperate from the bluray player and the tvs the HDMI aren't included so you haveto buy it seperate and you will get the best picture and sound as well.

Will a 720 TV not need a converter box to receive local channels?
Pretty much most Hi Definitions need an antenna to get the best signal possible and know the more you spend on your antenna the more channels you will get my sis and her husband is never at her house and they don't have cable but they do have a 40 inch samsung and they are always outside the house but anyways my brother in law got an antenna and he spent about 70 buck on it and he gets actually a lot of channels and all her cares about is the local to watch the weather and news mainly, so you need an antenna to get local and even more channels than the local once my bro in law gets about 25 channels in Austin and I guess it depends on the place and the antenna you buy, so the more you spend the better the reception you will get.

How can I use my 8 ohm speakers when 16 ohm is required?
I just bought a Insignia stereo amp model # NS-R2001. If I use channel "A" or "B", 8 ohm speakers are ok. If I want to use Channels "A" and "B", the speakers must have 16 ohm impedence. Can I put an 8 ohm resistor in series with each speaker? can I series two 8 ohm speakers per output? Is there a device to change the impedence of 8 ohm speakers? What do I do?
ha ha that's funny but here's the thing you can use any speakers just don't turn up with ohm too loud other wise you will blow them up just try and keep them too loud other wise you will blow them up!

Is there any device that will amplify my wireless connection?
Hubby just got a new fixer up classic car and we expect to be spending a lot of time in our garage which sits about 50 feet from our house. Our wireless internet modem is in a downstairs room (small house) on the opposite side of the house. Is there any product out there that would AMPLIFY or extend the range of the signal, while keeping it still secure (password enabled)? As it is right now, I can get a signal on my netbook at the garage door (while standing OUTSIDE) but is lost once you step into the garage...
Would love to be able to access my neat car sites live and have something to do (surf!) while keeping my husband company...
Realize such a device will cost, but do not want to invest in anything that requires a subscription or NEW connection.

here's the thing there are ways to expand the signal but the truth is you don't need it, the once they have now are g and if you have an n ultra, the n ultra is faster than the g so you would only lose speed and I suggest get an N ultra linksys router or one with dual band I have an N- ultra I have had it for about 5 months and I have be a black away and I have tested it and I still get 3 bars even when I'm that far and the N-Ultra dual band wireless routers usually cost from $100 and up if you want a good quality router with great access so that when your far away you get a great signal get this one.Cisco Linksys - E3000 High-Performance Wireless-N Router this one cost about $180 and this other one Cisco Valet - Plus Wireless Hotspot M20 cost $130 so if your going to be far away from your modem and want to get an amazing signal go with the first option my friend, hope that was helpful to you and you won't need an expander at all to get an amazing signal!

WHAT DOES HZ MEAN?
that's the refresh rate that the tv processes for example, if your into sports the higher, the higher the refresh rate the less distorition there will be when your watching like the UFC or NFL since those are a few of the many sports that anything can happen at the blink of an eye and there's your answer I have 4 LCD and a new LED and I have to say most tvs will have lil distortion some times it depends on the cable you have or satellite but if you connect it to your HDMI you will get the best picture and I promise it's pretty impossible to tell a difference but a tv with a very decent refresh rate are the once with 120 hz but just know the higher you go with the refresh rate the more expensive they are and I have to admit all my tvs are Samsung so go with a Samsung and look at the hz next time you go and you will see that and you will know that the higher the refresh rate the more expensive and also the once with a higher refresh rate they tend to also look way better so just find with around 120 hz and a tv that you like and that your happy with the price.

What is the range of a Wireless N Router
If you want a good signal about 15 feet and a lot depends on if the signal is straight from each other and there aren't any walls but the more expensice ones are the once that you can be a block away and still get a pretty darn good signal so there's your answer or get the medium priced one it will have further range and it will also have a better signal and of course the more you spend the faster it sends the signal so just get an ultra or the one that is above the n which is the ultra.

Looking for a Samsung Plasma TV
I have consumer reports they rate the samsung plasma model PN58B650 highly rated, Best Buy has a 58 inch model PN58C550G1F, can someone tell me the difference in these two models please? Is it just output sources and such or is the tv totally different?
Honestly Plasmas get better darks but who cares about dark colors really if you want nice and bright colors LCDS are always the best option if you notice LCDS are a lil more expensive and that's because they are better so get any samsung really even if you get a plasma, SAMSUNG are always ahead of everyone else! LCDS are more for gaming and the picture won't get stained LCDS are more for having on as much as you want and they stay cooler than plasmas so I say you should buy an LCD they stay cooler and just overall they are so much better!

I need a basic vcr to paly some tapes. Do you sell them?
they do have them and use type in VCR and they have refurbished it will be hard finding a new vcr they stopped selling them a long time ago so get one before they aren't any left! On the keyword I have seen a few BEST BUY offers for cheap with a dvd player they are about 60 if I have old tapes I would hurry and get one as soon as I could.

HD BROADCAST CHANNELS
i have hd programming from cablevision on my sony 46in bravia and my 32in ADvanced insignia. the hd cable box always displays 1080i and hdtv whenever i tune to a hd channel. am i getting the correct broadcast from the hd channels? i have only hdmi cables connected to both tv's. should i add a componet cable also? any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks
HDMI offers your best picture but the 780 or 1080 you can set those settings depending on what tv you have if you have a 780 tv set it to the same settings other wise your tv won't read anything but HDMI gets your best picture and best sound as well never use Component unless you have an regular dvd player or anything that only offers those cables. HDMI is your best picture and best sound, always! I have noticed that in some cable boxes you have to set the resolution to how you want them and to the appropriate settings as well.
