Star Wars: The Clone Wars has a score unique among the Star Wars movies.
While the two trilogies have grand symphonic scores, Kevin Kiner (the composer) gives us a nice blend of different styles of music. This CD contains themes inspired by Middle Eastern and Japanese music, as well as some nice rock-and-roll style peices. All of these styles work well together and, while this is not a John Williams score, it is still appropriate for Star Wars, particularly for the Clone Wars movie.
I loved the use of Middle Eastern instruments and vocals in the jungle battles and in Jabba's palace. And the use of shakuhaci (Japanese flute) and erhu (a Chinese instrument similar to a violin but with just two strings) worked very well for the scenes in the Tatooine desert.
The familiar Star Wars theme is used, but more percussion heavy than in the live-action movies. There are also some great symphonic compositions, the feel of these is more like the live-action movies but they still have their own style.
This CD is a worthy addition to the music of Star Wars. Kevin Kiner made a very wise move in not trying to just copy John Williams (there's only one John Williams). Give it a listen yourself.
May the force be with you!

This is a fun addition to the Star Wars saga. It's not a high stakes epic like the trilogies, but it's still fun to watch. This movie is first and foremost a pilot episode of the TV series of the same name, and it serves that function very well.
The movie takes place between episodes II and III, during the war between the Republic and the Seperatist Alliance. The focus of this movie is on action rather than political intrigue like Episode III. The action sequences are all exciting to watch and are very well animated. There are stunts in this movie you'd never see in the live action movies, the battle where Anakin Skywalker and the clone troops acsend a vertical cliff is particularly exciting.
Many of the familar Star Wars characters are in Clone Wars and are faithful to thier live-action counterparts. Anakin and Obi-Wan behave much the way they do in the prequel trilogy as do C-3PO, Yoda and Count Dooku. New characters are also intruduced in this movie, particularly Anakin's Padawn Ashoka Tano.
This movie may have been aimed at younger audiences, but long-time Star Wars fans can enjoy it too. Clone Wars sets up the TV series nicely, and the TV series gets better with each episode!
This is a different spin on Star Wars, but is still faithful to the saga long-time fans love. For a fun and action packed movie, Clone Wars is an excellent choice.

This is yet another great soundtrack in a whole series of great music!
'Return of the Jedi' features the great symphonic scores we've all come to know and love. This CD has great music for Emperor Paplpatine, the true villain of Star Wars. The music for the Emperor is dark and frightening and has the feel of a funeral dirge. The three part 'Battle of Endor' contains some of the most exciting battle music I have ever heard. There's also a very nice love theme for Han and Leia.
There's other styles as well. 'Jedi Rocks' is one of my favorites. This is a cool and groovy jazz number with alien lyrics. I also loved the ethnic music for various Ewok ceremonies.
This CD is the end of the original trilogy, possibly the greatest series of motion picture scores ever composed. John Williams outdoes himself once again in this awe inspiring CD.

This is an awesome 2 CD set! Some of the best music from the entire Star Wars saga is included in this soundtrack.
As with all of the Star Wars score, the music in this soundtrack is exceptional from beginning to end. John Williams composes yet another unforgettable symphonic score to one of the greatest movies ever made. What is particularly noteworthy is that this features the first appearance of 'Darth Vader's Theme' (also call "Imperial March'). This is one of my favorite pieces from all Star Wars music. This theme is powerful, driving and threatening, just like Darth Vader himself.
Another highlight is 'Yoda's Theme', a beautiful symphonic piece that captures the wisdom and benevolence of the character.
'The Battle of Hoth' is yet another exciting battle theme. A heroic piece for a losing battle.
This belongs in any sci-fi fan's audio collection! If you are a Star Wars fan, then you need this CD.

This 2 CD set contains all the music from the first Star Wars movie.
This CD complements the swashbuckling feel of the first Star Wars movie perfectly. Lots of exciting action and heroic themes abound in which is one of the best movie soundtracks ever recorded.
There are so many highlights in this set. 'Binary Sunset' is a great theme for Luke Skywalker, a sweeping theme for one of the sci-fi's great heroes, and 'Princess Leia's Theme' captures her compassion and courage. "Battle of Yavin' is one of the most exciting battle themes ever recorded. And for fun, you can't beat 'Cantina Band' and 'Cantina Band 2'. We also get to hear the 'Star Wars Main Title' as it was first heard on the silver screen.
The only problem is with 'Binary Sunset (alternate)'. It is only listed as one track in the liner notes. There are no glitches or anything like that, but after the alternate 'Binary Sunset' ends there are some alternate versions of the 'Main Title' that are worth hearing. These start up about 2 minutes after 'Binary Sunset'.
This CD is essential! This is the score that established John Williams as the greatest composer of our time.
May the Force be with you!
What's great about it: Great music from a great movie
What's not so great: final track on CD 1 is listed wrong
Specially included with the Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith soundtrack, this collection of music videos highlights sixteen of John Williams' strongest pieces from the film series while setting them to footage from all six films. Glimpses of production drawings and paintings can also be found throughout the 70-minute special as well, some of which had yet to be released in any other format. Taken as a whole, the special not only meant to present the composer's breadth of work, but to reinforce the lyrical themes that had been built up musically, visually and dramatically throughout the saga.

This is one of the best movie soundtracks ever recorded! Arguably the best Star Wars soundtrack ever!
John Williams did his usual fantastic job. 'Battle of the Heroes', a theme for Anakin's fall to the dark side, is the highlight of the album and there is much more great music to be heard. Themes from all six Star Wars movies are woven together seamlessly to create an orchestral triumph. The feel of the score is dark and foreboding, a perfect complement to the movie itself.
This CD includes a bonus DVD which is a nice Star Wars music video collection. The best pieces from each Star Wars soundtrack are set to scenes from the movies and Star Wars artwork for some great videos. I really enjoy watching that DVD, it never gets old!

John Williams has done it again! This is yet another brilliant score in a series of exemplary movie soundtracks!
Star Wars Episode II has a truly outstanding score. A highlight is the love theme (also called "Across the Stars"), this is a beautiful and sweeping theme for Anakin and Padme's forbidden (and doomed) romance. John Williams also makes excellent use of themes from Episode I and from the Original trilogy to highlight the fall to the dark side Anakin is to take. I particularly liked the use of Darth Vader's theme ("Imperial March") from Empire Strikes Back, excellent foreshadowing!
This really is one of the best scores ever recorded for a movie and shows beyond a doubt that John Williams is the finest composer of our time.

The movie itself may not be so good, but that does not diminish the quality of the musical score one bit!
Star Wars: Episode I has some of the best music I've heard from any motion picture soundtrack. John Williams outdid himself with this score and demonstrated very clearly that he is THE finest composer of our time.
The score offers many magnificent and sweeping themes that complement the epic scope of the Star Wars saga perfectly. Every track on this CD is outstanding! My favorite is 'Duel of the Fates'. A powerful theme using instuments and a full chorus that gives the listener an impression of the darkness that is to follow in later episodes.
Even if you don't like the movie itself, you should still get this CD for the phenomenal music. I would recommend this CD to any Star Wars fan and to anyone who likes great music.

If you love Star Wars (I certainly do) then you need to see this movie!
Spaceballs is a hilarious parody of the greatest sci-fi saga the big screen has ever seen. The characters are great from Dark Helmet (the Darth Vader parody) to Lone Star (a parody of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo, with a little Indiana Jones thrown in for good measure) even Pizza the Hutt (Jabba the Hutt). Each character is a brilliantly concieved parody of his or her Star Wars counterpart (no Boba Fett parody though).
Spaceballs parodies not just Star Wars, but also Star Trek, Alien, Transformers, Fantastic Voayage, Jaws, even Lawrence of Arabia and Wizard of Oz. There's even a brief Planet of the Apes parody.
The movie is well-written and well-directed. Mel Brooks put together a story where the gags make perfect sense within the context of the film, even when the characters are talking to the audience. The evil Dark Helmet rushes to capture Princess Vespa (Princess Leia) and the heroic Lone Star races to her rescue. Along the way, we are treated to a whole series of hilarious gags. My favorites are when Dark Helmet and Col. Sanderz (not a parody of any Star Wars character) are watching Spaceballs on video and when the villains capture the heores' stunt doubles. I also like the scene where Dark Helmet is playing with Spaceballs action figures.
The extras include a nice retrospective documentary on Spaceballs and even a scene from the movie shown in Dinkese and Mawgese (it makes more sense after you see the movie).
There is one joke in one very short scene I did not care for (when we hear of the names of the bridgecrew on Dark Helmet's ship), but that does not affect my enjoyment of the movie.
For a great parody of a great series of movies, check out Spaceballs.
May the Schwartz be with you!

This is the second collection of music from the Star Trek TV series from the Original to Voyager.
The opening themes are all there (except the first DS9 theme).
The highlights on this CD are the suite from 'All Good Things', the final episode of Next Generation and the suite from 'Bride of Chaotica'. "Bride of Chaotica' was one of my favorite episodes of Voyager and was a brilliant paraody of/homage to the Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials.
Top notch TV music. I would recommend this to just about anyone.

Bad disc - TWICE
ByQuoteMefromLos Angeles, CA
About an hour into Episode II, the disc freezes a bit and seems to skip. Returned to store for a hassle free exchange. The same problem with the new disc at the exact same spot!!!! Haven't had a chance to view all the other discs but what a disappiontment. Question is do I exchange again or simply ask for a refund???? Anyone else have similar problem?
Lots of talk with the First Class movie not working with Sony. It would not work with my Sony BDP S350. Which is NOT 3D. I had to disable the internet connection "Do not allow disc to access internet" or some such. Then I had to delete the data file the Xmen movie had already installed when I tried to watch it the first time. This isn't easy either as it normally doesn't display the stored data in the setup menu. I had to do this by inserting an invalid disc. In this case the digital copy. Then I got the menu to delete the First Class data file. What a pain, I'm watching this now and it BETTER be good, lol. If your not up to this then get the DVD. Hope this helps someone.

Good value for the money. One BRD issue.
ByburrisdfromFredericksburg, VA
As a Star Wars fan I find this a good value for the money. I have a problem with the blu-ray discs, which is in no way a fault of Best Buy. Every single disc seems to enter a pause mode during the movie and then speeds up without audio. I have to stop playing the disc and restart it again. This happens regardless of which blu-ray player I use. Other than that, I would recommend this product.
