This is an absolute must have for any Blu-Ray collection! Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen are both great movies (ignore the critics!!!!!!!!!). These movies tell the story of the ancient war between the heroic Autobots and the evil Decepticons as it comes to Earth and we are caught in the middle.
Both movies are well-written and very well directed, Micheal bay does a superb job of bringing on bigger than life action and thrills. The visual effects are astounding as well. The transformations all look realistic and the Transformers themselves actually look like they are a part of the live action environment. These are easily two of the most exciting movies around!
The extras discs include the DVD extras (most in HD) and some nice interactive features exclusive to Blu-Ray. Both give some nice insights on the production of the movies, the history of the Transformers and the making of the amazing visual effects.
These two movies took the Transformers from a cult favorite to a pop culture phenomenon. Transformers is exciting and looks even better in High-Def! The detail Blu-Ray shows makes the Tranformers even more impressive and the action even more exciting!
If you have these movies on DVD, you need to upgrade to Blu-Ray!
What's great about it: Two awesome sci-fi actioners
What's not so great: Nothing at all!
I would recommend this to a friend!

WALL-E is one of the best sci-fi films ever made and the music is just one of many things that makes WALL-E such a masterpiece.
The music ranges from some more comical pieces when we see WALL-E at work. This includes a great theme for WALL-E himself. There are also some more etherial and futuristic pieces, such as when we see EVE for the first time. There is even a touching love theme which sounds like it was played on a music box. This is one musical csore that is a vital part of the movie's story, and it does a brilliant job of helping to tell the story of a romance between two robots.
The ending theme, sung by Peter Gabriel, is an excellent original song and the score makes nice use of some songs by Louie Armstrong and Micheal Crawford.
All of the music is exemplary! This ranks among the Star Wars scores as some of the best music composed for any sci-fi film. If you are a sci-fi fan or a Disney fan, this CD is essential!

This happens to be my favorite Pixar movie, and it looks amazing on Blu-Ray (or Bluuu-Rrrayy as WALL-E might call it). As great as WALL-E is, this is one movie that really deserves to be seen in High Defenition.
The animation is truly astounding, as is to be expected from a Pixar film. All characters are brilliantly rendered and move in a fluid and natural manner. The colors are bright and clear. The HD transfer on the Blu-Ray really brings out the quality of the animation. Everything is sharp and crystal-clear with no trace of defects anywhere to be found. All the backgrounds have a high level of detail, detail that Blu-Ray shows of magnificently and the characters all look natural and like they are interacting with thier respective environments. You actually get the feeling of 3D without using 3D! Pixar has raised the bar once again!
The music is great. From comical tunes to more fusturistic and etherial music, WALL-E has an outstanding score.
The story tells of a robot who has developed a personality, WALL-E and falls in love with another robot, EVE. You really come to feel for WALL-E and want to see him succede. He may be a robot, but he has the same feelings we have. There's not much dialogue, but WALL-E tells an a great story without the need for much dialogue. Action, visuals and music weave a brilliantly told tale of love and heroism. Along the way, there's lots of fun and high-spirited action.
The extras include animated shorts and background featurettes on the making of WALL-E as well as a few deleted and alternate scenes. There's even some games with WALL-E and friends based on old-school arcade classics like 'Asteroids', 'Burgertime' and 'Lunar Lander' (if you have a PS3, the Dualshock 3 works with these games).
WALL-E is a fun and exciting sci-fi adventure with a great cast of characters in stunning HD. If you have Blu-Ray, this is an essential part of your HD movie collection. If you already have the WALL-E DVD, it is worth the upgrade, the picture and sound are so much etter on Blu-Ray than on DVD!
What's great about it: Brilliant plot and stunning animation

This CD is a collection of songs and score from Pixar's film starting with 'Toy Story' and leading to 'Up'. This CD boast a wide range of styles, from the big-band flavored tunes of 'Monster's Inc' to the New Agey 'Finding Nemo' to the futuristic 'WALL-E'.
There are a lot of tracks that a Oscar and Grammy winners, and a lot of nominees as well. Randy Newman and Thomas Newman prove to be outstanding and versitle composers and there's even a song from Peter Gabriel. All the songs and instrumental tracks are outstanding and this makes an essential addition to any Disney/Pixar fans CD library. The entire CD is a joy to listen to.
It's a nice purchase for the whole family, children and adults can enjoy listening to music from some of the best animated features ever made.
What's great about it: Great collection of music
What's not so great: I'd have liked more from 'Incredibles'.

Here's an essential Blu-Ray for any Disney/Pixar fan! This Blu-Ray includes the first ever Pixar short film the short films made by Pixar up to 'Lifted' (which was shown with 'Ratatouille').
One of the treats is seeing how technology has advanced over time. Some of the earlier shorts may look dated now but all were cutting edge for thier time. Starting with with 'Knick Knack', the shorts really look good and starting with 'For the Birds' they look spectacular. The animation in 'Mater and the Ghost Light' is astounding, in High-Def you can actually see the details on thier paint jobs. 'Tin Toy', the first all CGI film to win an Oscar (and the genesis for 'Toy Story') is included in this collection. My favorite is 'Boundin', the musical story of a lamb who is helped out by a jackalope. The quality of reproduction is high for all the shorts, Disney did a nice job on the Blu-Ray transfers.
A short documentary on Pixar is included in the extras. This is an nice informative piece that traces Pixar's history from a hardware company that made animated shorts to the Pixar of today which is, in my opinion, the world's premier animation studio.

Ranma 1/2 follows a young martial artist named Ranma who suffers from an unusual curse. While on a training journey through China, Ranma and his father Genma fell in the Cursed Springs of Jusenkyo. Now, whenever doused with cold water, Genma turns into a panda and Ramna turns into a girl! What follows is lots of action and lots of laughs in one of the funniest anime around.
In the first movie, 'Big trouble in Nekonlong China', Akane Tendo, one of Ranma's fiancees (long story) is kidnapped by a band of martial artist from China. Ranma and company follow Akane to China to rescue her (although they do forget to make a little side trip).
In 'Nihao, My Concubine', Ranma and the rest of the gang wind up strnded on a tropical island and face off against a group of martial artist who live on a nearby island, an island which has something that could undo the curse. This movie features a healthy dose of fan service, many of the characters in Ranma 1/2 are cute girls, and in this movie they are none to shy about wearing revealing swimsuits.
Both movies feature good quality animation, a bouncy musical score and lots of Jacky Chan style martial arts hijinks. These are two of the funniest movies you're likely to see and always make for a great time.
Just be sure to watch these in Japanese. The Japanese cast is much better than the English cast. In the English version, Ranma sounds like a girl in his male form and, in his female form, sounds like she's swallowed sandpaper. Not a problem in the Japanese version which is much better cast. You will also be treated to a performace by Kikuko Inoue in a nice supporting role.
Highly recommended.
What's great about it: Both Ranma 1/2 movies in one set
Package Description: From the creator of Inuyasha and Maison Ikkoku come the madcap adventures and wacky martial arts madness of Ranma -- a boy who turns into a girl when splashed with water! Based on the animated TV series, this collection of Original animated Videos is a treat for fans, new and old alike. The world of martial arts will never be the same!

This collects the OVAs (Original Video Animation) made as a follow-up to the long-running TV series Ranma 1/2.
Ranma 1/2 is one of the funniest anime ever made and is truly an essential series to own. The main character, Ranma Saotome, is a young martial artist who suffers from an unusual Chinese curse. When doused with cold water, he turns into a girl! (Hot water changes him back into a guy). His father, Genma, suffers from a similar curse but he changes into a panda!
This sets up one of the most enjoyable anime comedies ever made. Lots of sight gags and some more ironic humor plus some crazy Jacky Chan style martial arts antics makes for one of the best anime series around. Ranma 1/2 is always a delight to watch.
Each episode in this collection is self-contained and tells a fun story. All are based on comedy except for one surprisingly dramatic episode. Each episode is very well animated and packs a lot of action into each half-hour. The series also has a nice, bouncy musical score that fits the light-hearted feel of the series nicely. There are also some excellent opening and closing songs.
The only extras are title free versions of the opening and closing sequences from the Japanese releases. These are like anime music videos with the characters from Ranma 1/2. Fun to watch, but these are the only extras.
The Ranma 1/2 OVAs assume you are familiar with the seies and the characters, but even if you aren't, you won't have much trouble catching up.
Make certain you watch this in Japanese rather than English. The English voice cast is OK, but nowhere near as good as the Japanese cast. Ranma's English voice's aren't so good, his male voice sounds like a girl and his female voice sounds like she swallowed sandpaper, the voices for Ranma in the Japanese version are much better suited to the character. Some of the English cast also sound age inappropriate. This is not a problem with the Japanese cast, they all sound perfect for each character. The Japanese cast also includes Kikuko Inoue, one of anime's finest actresses, in a prominent supporting role.

Stargate Atlantis takes the concept of Stargate SG-1 and expands on it. In this series, a multi-national team steps through the stargate and emerges in Atlantis, which happens to be in the Pegasus galaxy, a galaxy so far away they needed a massive power boost to get there. Once there, they meet the Wraith, a terrifing vampiric race that feeds on Human life.
Stargate Atlantis is an action sci-fi series. There are lots of exciting action scenes in almost every episode. From white knuckle ground based combat to thrilling space battles. Each episode boasts a fine array of visual effects and some nicely executed stunt-work. This is one of the most exciting sci-fi series the small screen has ever seen.
The characters are great too. Some of the SG-1 cast appears here and there, but the focus is one the new cast. From Lt. Col. John Sheppard, the everyman-type, to arrogant genius Rodney McKay, to beautiful warrior Teyla and the rough and tumble warrior Ronan. All characters develop well over time (and reveal a few surprises along the way). In the fourth season, Col. Samantha Carter (played by Amanda Tapping) led the Atlantis expedition but left at the beginning of the fifth season. I would have liked to have seen more ef her as the leader.
The extras are good. Lots of background on the making of the series. The more interesting ones show how some of the visual and make-up effects were done.
I recommend this for any sci-fi fan.
What's great about it: Great sci-fi TV
What's not so great: I would have liked for Amada Tapping to have had a larger role
I would recommend this to a friend!

Stargate: Atlantis [Original Television Soundtrack] [CD]
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie comes to DVD from Columbia TriStar with a widescreen transfer. Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound audio is presented in the original Japanese theatrical version, the fine English dub, or French stereo. Subtitles are available in English and French. The special features start out with two ten-minute featurettes. "From the Small Screen to the Big Screen" is made up of interviews about the production process with the director, character designers, and other crew members. "International Appeal: What's Not to Like?" features a discussion about the show's popularity, as well as a conversation with composer Yoko Kanno about her musical influences. Each individual character gets his or her own featurette, including a profile and interviews with the Japanese and English voice actors and ADR supervisor. The disc also includes conceptual artwork galleries, storyboard comparisons, theatrical trailers, and music videos for "Ask DNA" and "Gotta Knock a Little Harder." This disc is highly recommended for space cowboys everywhere.

This movie has the same feel as the Cowboy Bebop TV seris, which is of course a good thing.
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie concerns a terrorist who seeks to unleash an experimental viral weapon on the unsuspecting populace of the Mars colony. Spike and the rest of the Bebop crew rush to stop him from destroying the colony (and also to pick up the large bounty on the terrorist).
The animation is amazingly fluid and expertly drawn. The music, like in the TV series, is cool and jazzy. There is lots of action in this movie, and all of the action sequences are exciting to watch, from chase scenes to martial arts duels. This movie is ever bit as outstanding as the TV series it is based on, and the TV series is one of the best anime ever made. This is an excellent movie to introduce people to anime. Cowboy Bebop: The Movie actually holds its own alongside such sci-fi greats as Star Wars or Blade Runner. Even if you haven't seen the TV series, you can still follow and enjoy this movie.
Cowboy Bebop has an 'R' rating, and that is exactly the rating it warrants (which I find remarkable because the MPAA tends to give any animated feautre it sees a 'G' rating).
Any movie or TV series should be viewed in it's original language, whether that language is English, Fench or, in this case, Japanese. The Japanese cast is exceptional, the English cast, not quite so good, so watch this in Japanese.
For exciting action and cool anime, Cowboy Bebop can't be beat.

This set collects the first Tenchi Muyo TV series, which is based on the OVA (Original Video Animation) series called 'Tenchi Muyo: Ryo-Oh-Ki'.
The characters are pretty much the same as in the OVA series. Tenchi thinks he is an ordinary Japanese high school student but is unaware that he has a much greater destiny. He also has unusual luck with women, Tenchi tends to attract cute alien women. Within the span fo a few episodes, a space pirate, a mad scientists, a pair of alien princesses (one is named Sasami, who happens to be one of my favorite anime characters), two Galaxy Police officers and a bounty hunter come into Tenchi's life. Tenchi Universe tells a different story from 'Ryo-Oh-Ki', which was done so TV audiences in Japan who had not seen the OVA series could get on board from the beginning.
The first half of the series does not have a central storyline, these are self-contained episodes that are played mainly for comedy. And these episodes are among the funniest I have ever seen, always fun viewing. The second half tells the story of a coup on Jurai (where Sasami and her sister Ayeka come from), the second half has a nice amount of action but this is balanced by some great humor (who knew there were sushi bars in outer space?) and a few dramatic epsiodes. In between, we have the 'Time Space Adventures' which are sort of alternate reality versions of Tenchi Muyo. One has a nice 'magical girl' parody and another is a 'Bonny and Clyde' style adventure.
The entire series is very well done. The animation is good by TV standards and the story is brilliantly written. The comic, action and dramatic elements all work very well together and feel natural. Tenchi Universe also features some great songs (in the Japanese version at least), the opening theme is a great rock-pop number and there are nice songs throughout. All in all, this is one of the best anime around.
The Japanese version features one of the best casts ever assembled. A very talented cast of players that do a fantastic job in this series, the English cast just cannot match the original cast. So make sure you watch the Original Japanese version.

Bad disc - TWICE
ByQuoteMefromLos Angeles, CA
About an hour into Episode II, the disc freezes a bit and seems to skip. Returned to store for a hassle free exchange. The same problem with the new disc at the exact same spot!!!! Haven't had a chance to view all the other discs but what a disappiontment. Question is do I exchange again or simply ask for a refund???? Anyone else have similar problem?
Lots of talk with the First Class movie not working with Sony. It would not work with my Sony BDP S350. Which is NOT 3D. I had to disable the internet connection "Do not allow disc to access internet" or some such. Then I had to delete the data file the Xmen movie had already installed when I tried to watch it the first time. This isn't easy either as it normally doesn't display the stored data in the setup menu. I had to do this by inserting an invalid disc. In this case the digital copy. Then I got the menu to delete the First Class data file. What a pain, I'm watching this now and it BETTER be good, lol. If your not up to this then get the DVD. Hope this helps someone.

Good value for the money. One BRD issue.
ByburrisdfromFredericksburg, VA
As a Star Wars fan I find this a good value for the money. I have a problem with the blu-ray discs, which is in no way a fault of Best Buy. Every single disc seems to enter a pause mode during the movie and then speeds up without audio. I have to stop playing the disc and restart it again. This happens regardless of which blu-ray player I use. Other than that, I would recommend this product.
