Cut meat, hard cheese, bread and vegetables quickly and easily with this food slicer that features a 7-1/2" stainless-steel blade and durable, nonabsorbent components for simple cleanup.

Part of the slide is plastic and the grip does not hold items well. The motor does not turn the blade that fast. It also has plastic gears inside. It does clean fairly easy. Probably good for smaller meats and such but not for larger items. Overall for the price I say fair but not great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
