Great sound at a great price

I bought these when one of my vintage Cambridge Soundworks Series 6 fronts blew the foam around the woofer, and we couldn't have Christmas without music. Best Buy had these on sale for $59 the pair, Polk has always been a reputable name, so how could one go wrong for the short term while the mains are being repaired? One simply can not go wrong with these speakers, even at their full price of ~$99. No, they aren't as warm as the CS's, and maybe don't have as smooth or deep a bottom end, but just by themselves, no sub, they sound pretty darn amazing, especially since they are itty bitty. These will replace the small Sonys I'm using for rears when the mains come back with fresh foam, as the Polks have way more presence.

My previous surround speakers were hardwired up through the ceiling and across the attic. Not this time. My son had a similar set up and recommended it. I wasn't all that convinced after seeing some of the issues noted in reviews, but can happily report none of those quibbles apply to my set up. There's no noises coming from the rear speakers, the sound field is excellent, and I am a satisfied customer. It's not completely wireless, as you do have to run wires from the rear box to the speakers, but that really shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone.

Enjoy rich, immersive bass with this Pioneer SW-8MK2 subwoofer that features phase and frequency controls, so you can easily customize your sound. High- and low-level inputs allow flexible installation.

Was forced into buying a powered sub when I bought my new Yamaha AV receiver, an unexpected expense. So I had to look for the best sub at the best price, and I found it. This sub adds a natural sounding bottom to everything, and will rock the house when I want it to I am satisfied, and even happier that I got it on sale for less than the listed price.

Speakers are not loud enough
I have the dial set to loud, but the speakers are not that loud. Is there a way to boost the sound output. Maybe an amplifier?
As I understand it, the Rocketfish box in the rear is also the amplifier for the rear speakers, so that's pretty much it.
