This is the 2nd in the series of movies that are like the Cars movies... but about planes instead. So it's the same kind of thing. It's harmless, mildly pleasing entertainment for the most part... probably best enjoyed by kids. But the animation is fun to watch if you're an animation enthusiast... and I really connected to this film because it's mostly set in a (fictional) National Park and has a bit of a natural conservation/preservation theme. And I like aviation topics a lot. So it was a win/win for me.

As a Transformers fan, it hurts me to say this - this movie is terrible. I like a mindless action film full of explosions as much as any other fan of summer blockbusters, but this series just gets worse and worse with every entry. The characters get more and more unlikeable (and less and less like their original animated counterparts) in every entry of this series. And the humor is just juvenile and tasteless. And perhaps the most insulting part: in a film called 'Transformers', they rarely show any cool scenes of the titular characters actually transforming anymore. It's like they've gotten lazy in the FX department. Too much time rendering scenes of mass destruction I guess. They forget to spend any time making you like the characters.
From director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg comes the best TRANSFORMERS ever! With humanity facing extinction from a terrifying new threat, it's up to Optimus Prime and the Autobots to save the world. But now that our government has turned against them, they'll need a new team of allies, including inventor Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) and the fearsome Dinobots!

2029 a female government cyber agent and the Internal Bureau of Investigations are hot on the trail of the Puppet Master - a computer virus capable of invading cybernetic brains and altering it's victim's memory. Created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and codenamed Project 2501, this 'hacker' is actually a prototype virtual agent which has now defied it's makers by seeking asylum within a new host body outside of the electronic net. Now the two agencies must maneuver against each another in a violent, high-tech race to capture the omnipresent entity. GHOST IN THE SHELL took the world by storm exhibiting a new dimension of anime with unprecedented and mesmerizing cinematic expression. Seamlessly merging traditional cel animation with the latest computer graphic imagery, this stunning sci-fi spectacle broke through the boundaries of mainstream animation with detailed artistic expression and a uniquely intelligent story line. The film has gone on to inspire a generation of filmmakers and has become the most revered anime feature of all time. Veteran anime writer/director/producer Mamoru Oshii, working in conjunction with the animators at Production I.G. (BLOOD THE LAST VAMPIRE, KAIDOHMARU, KILL BILL) brought to life Masamune Shirow's vision. This excellent cyberpunk thriller was co-produced by Manga Entertainment and enjoyed both critical and popular success at the U.S. box office and was the first Japanese animated film to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Top Video Sales Chart.

This is a well known anime film that introduced a lot of fans to the work of manga artist Masamune Shirow. There have been other films and TV series made since, but this is the original film. I haven't really been too much of a fan of anime produced in recent years, so I'm glad to be able to owner an older classic on Blu-ray finally. Animation quality is nice, and it's also a lot more thoughtful in terms of its themes than the average action anime. I recommend checking out the original manga as well, which is in my opinion the definitive version of the story.

In the new season, we see Rick and the group of survivors fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison only to have it short-lived as the group loses everything, their home, family, and friends to the threat of the walkers, outside threats and the hidden dangers brewing inside the fences. The group of survivors are broken apart and sent on divergent paths, unsure of everyone else's fate as they are exposed to new dangers, new enemies, and heartbreaking choices. They will have their faith thoroughly tested - a faith that breaks some of them and redeems others.

You probably already know if you're a fan of this series or not. I will say that this season seemed a bit more exciting than the last 2. Plenty of shocks and twists.

This is a film version of a classic sci-fi novel. I have not read the book unfortunately, so I can't tell you if this is a 100% faithful adaptation or not. I can tell you though, that I enjoyed the film. Solid production design, and good performances from Ben Kingsley, Harrison Ford, and the younger cast. The story is not big on action - instead focusing on character growth and some interesting moral/philosophical issues to ponder over. I actually wish this had done well enough in the box office to guarantee some sequels (based on the later books) but I guess that's not going to happen.

A must for any collection of classic Disney 2D animation. The picture quality is great and the packaging/presentation is top notch, as I would expect from a modern Disney release. I had a renewed interest in seeing this again after seeing the live action version in theaters. Was not disappointed.

Probably made as an attempt to cash in on the popularity of other book-to-film adaptations based on children's and YA series (Harry Potter, Hunger Games, etc) - this series does not reach that standard of quality. FX are OK in some areas, poor in others. Acting is OK but the story feels a little disjointed. I suspect it's more enjoyable if you've ready the books first.
