First what I am used to: Fronts Klipsch Cornwalls, Center Klipsch RC3, Surrounds Klipsch RS3's, Sub SVS Cylinder, with a 92" 720P HD projector. I have downsized as now all my viewing is for me alone and not for friends/parties. I still own the above. I now use a 2012 (delivered 2013) iMac with the Klipish Pro Media 2.1's and like the system a lot! If this caliber of computer + (low cost) speakers had been available then I may have saved a ton. Can the sub tear down my house (like the SVS can)? No, but it is accurate at normal listening levels. Do the speakers compare to the Cornwalls? No but again at normal listening levels they are VERY good. Bottom line for what you could pay for speakers alone you could get a VERY superior computer to watch your iTunes movies and still have a very good sound system.
