I bought these from Best Buy in August '09 to replaced the earbuds that came with the iPod Touch (8GB). After it has been "broken-in" the sounds are well balanced. The highs, mids and the lows all complement each other. Speaking of lows, for an in-ear phones I was astonished. It's not muddied/boomy.
These headphones are not noise-isolating. However, they do block a majority of the sounds when you're listening to music. Altec Lansing did include extra earbuds for different size ears. The pre-installed earbuds fit my ears perfectly. They are very comfortable to wear for hours. My only complaint is the cord. It's made out of cloth for durability. But it makes too much noise when it rubs against your clothes. Which can be annoying at times.
What's great about it: Comfortable to wear
What's not so great: The cord is made out of cloth

2009 Game of the Year

I just finished the campaign mode last night. While the story line was good, it was way too short. As a matter of fact, I think it's shorter than CoD4 MW. The graphics were, once again, top notched. The controls are familiar. When you play any of the CoD series you pretty much played them all as far as the controls are concerned. Which is good!!!
I wished that you and 3 other friends are able to play the Spec Ops mode. That would have been more fun. But only 2 people are able to play.
The campaign mode picks up 5 years after the events of CoD 4. There are new characters as well as a couple of returning heroes ones from CoD 4. Soap Mactavish and Captain Price. Soap is now a Captain and sporting a mohawk. As stated in other reviews regarding the "No Russians" mission, yes it is disturbing. You kill the innocent civillians in the airport. However, Infinity Ward does give you the option to skip the mission at the beginning of the game.
There is a twist at the end. No, not everyone died. But it is a safe bet that there'll be MW3. I don't see this franchise going anywhere anytime soon.
No comment regarding the on-line play because I've been concentrating on the campaign mode. But I will be playing it on-line this weekend.
What's great about it: Spec Ops
What's not so great: Spec Ops...only 2 people are able to play

One of the better FPS
on November 10, 2009

I have been playing BF: Bad Company on-line for a year now. It's one of the better FPS available. The story line was funny and entertaining and the on-line experience was a mix bag. When you play on-line and you die, sometimes you respawn right next to the opposite team (spawn kill). Hopefully EA has that problem fix. Other than that, if the sequel is anything like the original, off-line & on-line, it's going to be fun.
What's great about it: The environments are destructible
What's not so great: The release date

A change of pace from CoD series
on November 9, 2009

If you're looking for a change of pace from the ususal run 'n gun style FPS this, maybe, is what you are looking for. CoD Modern Warfare, in my opinion, set the standard for graphics. The graphics for this game comes close to it. What it lacked was texturing. This is a difficult game and I'm playing on "easy" mode. I can only imagine the "hard" mode.
One shot one kill does apply here and that is often you dying if you don't plan it out. However, I find it annoying that you can't kill enemies with just one shot. If you're near death your AI teammates do not come to the rescue. Although, if you get shot and depending on the seriousness of the injury you are able to heal yourself with the medic kit by holding down button "B" to select the kit and then holding down "RT". Yeah about that. About the button pushing in this game. It's not very responsive, to say the least.
Speaking of your (moronic) AI teammate, I ordered them to stand behind a wall to suppress fire but they stood out in the open doing it. Needless to say a couple of them died which, in itself, is a blessing in disguise. Because I was doing all the work anyway and you're able to take what they left behind (i.e. weapons and ammunitions). It seems that the enemy AI is smarter. However, your AI teammate is good for something, they'll alert you of the enemy's postion.
If you run for a long period you will get tired. You can feel the heart beating through the controller. You're able to stand, crouch or go prone.
I have not played on-line yet. So no comment on that. I also have not played co-op either. But if you like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas series then this is right up your alley. If it's anything like RBSV, it should be fun. All in all it is a fun and interesting game because it makes you think.
What's great about it: It's a tactical FPS
What's not so great: Idiot artificial intelligence (contradiction-in-term)

Where's Ace Combat 7??

I've been a fan of the Ace Combat series since Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies (PS2) and I owned all of the games since then. The graphics are good. The controls are all the same. There are a good selection of aircrafts to choose from and weapons. What it lacked was co-op play. Ace Combat 6 was the first game that I played on-line and met many friends. Speaking of on-line, it was fun at first until people started to cheat. Anyhow, I am hoping that Namco Bandai will make AC7 and add co-op play.
What's great about it: Good selections of aircrafts
What's not so great: lack of co-op play

Another great game from Ubisoft/Tom Clancy

I wanted to start of by saying that the graphics on this game are excellent. As far as the game play is concern, it's too easy even on the hardest setting. The controls are similar to the Ace Combat series. Except for button A is for shooting missles, button B is for the cannon and the D pad is for the missle selections. You rank up faster if you complete the challenges in the campaign & on-line mode (just like any other game). What I noticed is that all the matches now takes place in the "Player Match". Not too many people are playing the "Rank Match". Speaking of on-line, it lags. It doesn't happen that often though. It is a fun game overall.
What's great about it: A change of pace from Ace Combat 6
What's not so great: It lags

So close yet so far

This game is comparable to Gran Turismo & Forza. It is not like the Need for Speed from the past (Most Wanted & Carbon). Having said that it is an entertaining game. Some races are too easy and some are challenging. The graphics are excllent. I was disappointed at the lack of a lap counter. If you're in an endurance race and there are some with 30 laps it would be nice to have a lap counter. Also it does not tell you which position you are in the race. I was leading a race and spun out, once I was back on the road and there were no cars in front of me I thought I won the race. Needless to say, I did not. However, it's only a minor inconvenience. Overall I do enjoy the game.
What's great about it: Excellent graphics
What's not so great: Not a big selection of vehicles
