These are, by far, the best sounding PC speakers I've ever listened to. In fact, they inspired me to buy a whole set of Klipsch speakers for my living room.

Do I need a receiver ?
No. These are powered speakers that plug into a standard US 110/120 volt outlet. The audio input is designed to be plugged into a desktop or a laptop's headphone port.
