Best computer speakers

I have had these speakers for a few years now and I can say they hold up awesome. For there size they sound clean, crisp and powerful, and they get really loud. The only way they could be better is if they made a 5.1 set for gaming. As far as computer speakers go you won't find a better setup. Including anything Logitech has.

Can these be replaced.
The subwoofer started making a huge static noise, and i am getting bass only from the noise.
Sounds like the jack isn't plugged in all the way or has a short, guessing it sounds like if u touched the plug to your hand with it on? That sound?

Can these speakers be wired to an older stereo
I have an older steel that uses speaker wire will these work?
I wouldn't wire it. If it has a headphone jack I would imagine it's 1/4 inch u can get a 1/4inch to 1/8 inch adapter to use this with it

Would it be possible to use this sound system to connect to an mp3 player to create my own little bedside stereo system if I wanted to?
Yes that would work perfectly. I've used mine with my iPhone and MP3 player multiple times.

Do the speakers have Speaker Covers. I see some of the Pro Media 2.1 with and without Speaker Covers.

Can the Subwoofer be connected to AV Receiver Subwoofer preamp out?
No it can't, well not without cutting wires and modifying. The powersupply and amp for the side speakers are in the sub. The sub gets its audio signales internally from the front speakers audio, it doesn't have its own source cable.

Where's the earphone jack for private listening?
If I put the sub under my desk, will I have to reach under the desk and spin the sub around any time I want to plug or unplug headphones? I'm assuming any kind of plugging in mutes the speakers for the headphones.....?
No, one of the front speakers has the volume, sub volume and a headphone jack right in the front where it is easy to get too. And yes when you plug in headphones it mutes the speakers.
