If you've ever worked in the food service industry, "Waiting" is a Must See. Ryan Reynolds, although not typically my favorite actor, does an excellent job as the main character in this movie about working in a chain restaurant. As a former waitress/host/bartender I found this movie to be a good, hilarious reflection of what really goes on in the kitchen. My favorite part of the movie centers on a rude customer who gets some "extra attention" to her meal. Also hilarious was the dopey restaurant manager trying to help out in the kitchen, but rather just gets in the way. I'm usually not into the crude type of humor featured in "Waiting," but I couldn't help but love some of the practical jokes and rites of passage featured at the restaurant. This is definatley a must see movie for anyone who has EVER been so lucky to work such a thankless job in the food service industry.

Tom Petty's latest album "Highway Companion" is definatley worth a listen. As a die-hard Petty fan, I was very impressed with the track "Saving Grace" featured on this album. This track is reminisent of any essential rock song in my book....starts out slow and then, all of a sudden, starts jamming with heavy guitars and a catchy back beat. Definatley a song to crank up in your car on the highway. When I listened to this album, I thought about previous Petty albums and what those songs represented for me. Petty's earlier work reminds me of being young and free and living life on the road while this album in contrast made me think, "I've lived that life, now what." Overall, this Petty album, though not my all-time favorite is definatley worth a listen.
