A classic , irreverent comedy movie with side-splitting puns and sight gags. It's hilarious to see dramatic actors such as Leslie Nielsen, Robert Stack, Peter Graves and Lloyd Bridges do comedy. The improved Blu-ray video is a must compared to the standard dvd but it could have been better. You should surely buy this movie......and don't call me shirley.

This classic film noir was nominated for ten Oscars and received only one (Robert Towne for Best Original Screenplay) and established Jack Nicholson as a superstar. One of the biggest disappointments is composer Jerry Goldsmith not winning an Oscar for his haunting score which he composed in only ten days after his predecessor's score was rejected at the last minute. The only negative on the Blu-ray is director David Fincher's (who was not involved in the making of the movie) commentary which dominated while Robert Towne was pushed back into the background. It would have been more appropriate to have Nicholson or director Roman Polanski provide the commentary. Trivia: look for Rance Howard, Ron Howard's father, as the sheep farmer in the beginning of the movie.
What's great about it: Engrossing script with excellent acting by Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway and Jerry Goldsmith's score.
What's not so great: Director David Fincher dominated the special features commentary from writer Robert Towne.e
