How does one take a large body of work--5 albums to be exact--and boil it down to 15 songs? The answer: not easily, but this album does a pretty good job. Of course, every fan has his/her say as to which songs *should* be on a "Best Of" album, and those arguments can go on forever; this album, however, has some real no-brainers in terms of track listing. I'm talking about "Every Day Should Be a Holiday," "Bohemian Like You," "The Last High," and "Smoke It," which are amongst the most well-known Dandys songs, unless you lived under a rock and avoided any and all alternative radio in the late '90s/early '00s.
Whether you're a long-time Dandys fan or new to their groove, this is definitely worth adding to your music collection. Chances are you'll be like me and wind up owning all their albums.

Fishbone is probably the biggest and baddest band you've never heard of. Their signature has graced the west coast since the '90s, be it a sticker in a locker from "Beverly Hills 90210," a t-shirt worn by castmembers of "A Different World," or the actual song playing on John Cusack's boombox in "Say Anything," Fishbone is a force to be reckoned with. Fusing jazz, funk, ska, soul, hip-hop, reggae, and just about everything you can possibly imagine, this band will blow you away with every song and have you coming back for more.

If you're anything like me and enjoy a good old-fashioned monster movie, you'll definitely enjoy this re-make of the original Wolfman. From the excellent acting through the compelling plot and the wonderful special effects, this is what modern re-makes should be like. The story starts off slowly and takes time to build each of the characters into individuals as opposed to rushing through their development--you wind up caring about the characters and become invested in them.
Not enough movies are made with the level of care and skill as this one.

When talking about music, one question inevitably comes up: Which band is better, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, or The Who? The first two choices are by far the most popular, but one listen to the concert recorded on this CD will ultimately lead you to the correct answer: The Who!
Arguably at the pinnacle of their career, one of the greatest foursomes to ever grace your ears unleash what is widely considered the greatest concert ever recorded. Period. If you don't believe me, buy this CD and just listen. You'll instantly become a believer. That 15-plus minute version of "My Generation" is just one of the 14 precious rock & roll gems found within.
From start to finish, this is one concert that you won't ever stop listening to. Just try to take it out of your CD player (or off of your iPod/mp3 player). I dare you.

One name is synonymous with '80s synth-driven pop music: Depeche Mode. An utter powerhouse from 1980 through the 21st century, this band has cut and released more hit singles than your average band, has toured the world several times over, and has undoubtedly rocked your world on at least one occasion. Part one of the best of everything they've recorded in the studio, this CD contains more than enough hits to keep the average music fan dancing in his/her seat for years to come.
But when they decide to drop volume 2, you'd best watch out...

I grew up on a steady diet of Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, and other such great bands. And while Black Sabbath, in my opinion, is the epitome of early, old-school heavy metal, Deep Purple comes in at a VERY close second. Their careers ran parallel to each other for many years, though when Black Sabbath imploded due to too many drugs and way too much alcohol, Deep Purple kept the spirit of heavy metal alive and kicking. Not to mention loud. Very loud, actually. It is, after all, how they got their reputation as the loudest band on the planet.
So buy this CD, put it in your CD player (or on your iPod), crank the volume up to 11, and prepare to have your mind (and your eardrums) blown away.

A quick Google Image search will reveal the iconic image of, "Clapton is God," spray-painted on the side of a fence with a dog...relieving himself on said wall. And while some might consider it blasphemous to compare one of the greatest guitarists on the planet to the creator of the known universe, it seems a rather apropos comparison. This CD alone will help all who listen to it to realize one very specific thing: Clapton is God(like).
From his early days with Cream through Derek & the Dominos, Blind Faith, and his solo career, this CD captures all the songs you know and love as well as a few that may not have graced your ears. An absolute must-have for anyone and everyone who even remotely likes music.

Whether you're new to the music of Billy Idol or are a long-time fan, this disc is truly essential for your music collection. To be perfectly honest, this should be in your music collection regardless of whether you like Billy Idol or not. Though Generation X didn't manage to make it big (except for "Dancing with Myself," of course), Billy has masterfully blended punk with the pop music genre and should be hailed as the King of Pop Punk. And when you look back at his accomplishments, you begin to realize just how much of a forward thinker he both is and was, managing to stay just ahead of the curve.
If you haven't done so already, buy yourself a copy of this CD today. Listen to it. Love it. Be it. Idolize it. Then you can thank me later.

Flogging Molly is hands-down one of the best live performers out there. Having just recently seen them play in Baltimore as part of their big St. Patty's Day tour, I really wanted to pick up this CD/DVD combo and re-live my own personal concert experience. And in no way does this album disappoint. Whether you're a long-time fan of the band or looking to pick up a "greatest hits 'til now" CD, this album truly is a must-have for any music lover.
What's great about it: Fantastic quality, great price

Whether you're a casual or die-hard fan of the Foo Fighters, this is an essential album in anyone's CD collection. Every single one of these songs helped cement this band in the annals of rock & roll history, and not one of them doesn't kick some serious @$$. And unless you've never heard the Foo Fighters before in your life, chances are you know at least one of these songs by heart. C'mon, you know you wanna buy it....
