First of all, this is a great anime. For the most part, all of the characters are true to the video game. Dante's non-chalant attitude is captured well, almost too well. At times his character in the anime made me think of how Dante was characterized in DMC2, which any real fan of Devil May Cry will tell you was the worst DMC game by far. At times the anime made him seem like he had no personality at all. This Dante is far more serious and dry than the Dante from the game series (minus DMC2).
Don't get me wrong, I totally loved this show. The voice acting is some of the best that I have heard in any anime. Also, the level of detail in everything from the layout of Dante's office to the intricate details of his sword Rebellion is truly a remarkable tribute to the game series.
I only wish that the organization that produced this anime would have worked more closely with Capcom to truly capture Dante's personality.
What's great about it: Great Action! Excellent Voice Acting! Remarkable Visuals!
What's not so great: Too much gunplay, not enough swordplay!
