Went OTA but was missing some of my "cable" channels so I added Sling TV which is nice but the interface on my TV alone just wasn't smooth. I bought this and the new TiVo OTA 1TB (both free service) and tried them out side by side.
First impression is the Tivo is a much more thought out and slick device BUT it does not support SlingTv.
What is nice about this unit is it seemlessly ( as much as possible) integrates your OTA and the "cable" channels on Sling.
TiVo only integrates Netflix but I have Netflix and Amazon built into my TV so I don't need that option.
This is as close as I could get to cable or satellite and I only need the one supplied remote to enjoy OTA(with a guide and DVR) & "cable" . ( none of the OTA DVR's will record streaming services only OTA programs).
The wifi adapter works good but I did see an improvement when I plugged it into my Ethernet in quality of picture and channel change times (about 1.2 seconds on Sling) so if you have Ethernet available save the $50 and don't get the wifi adapter .
Oh, this unit is amazingly small

Once it is up & running it is a great tablet, if using outside look for an anti-glace screen protector. Sound is decent, screen is very good. Operating system is way better than 4.4. Only draw back is it takes for ever to start up. 5.x operating system seems to have a hiccup in the wi-fi connection, sometimes full strength then no connection. My first one would never connect, my second one is pretty stable but it does drop from time to time for no reason. hopefully they will fix that issue soon. But for the price vs features it is great deal.

Got this for my son in his first apartment , what a deal! I like this model because you can fine tune it , we actually ended up with a setting with fewer channels but the ones that he would watch which is what is important . Pair it up with an internet based tv if you can and you will have all you need

We dumped our PC's at Work

At the urging of my kids, I bought a IMac 3 years ago to replace my PC at home. I've been a PC user since the early days, even learned how to program back in the Intel 8086 days(late 70's). After a month of loving it and kicking myself for waiting so long to convert, I took it to work and let them 'Play" with it. The next week all our office PC's were replaced with the IMac! Not one service call, virus, spyware etc since. It does everything a PC will do only faster & easier and without the headaches.
I think the negative reviewers here are PC repair guys who are slowly seeing their customer base going away.
The support from Apple when needed is top notch, and the re-learning curve from a PC is short, even my 73 year father picked it up in a day & he too is now a IMac user.
No more PC's for us!
What's great about it: everything (IMail is awesome)
What's not so great: pricey but worth it
I would recommend this to a friend!
