So Good I sold my 40D and 5D!

I LOVE this camera. I initially bought it as a replacement for my 40D which my wife was shooting with. I was primarily shooting with a 5D. After using this camera two things happened (1) we both wanted to use this one instead of our other cameras and (2) we sold the 40D and 5D on eBay.
We are primarily wildlife / nature photographers so capturing birds in flight is something we like to shoot. Having 8 FPS really helps for this and some sports photography we do. In fact one or our recent sports photos is going to be run as the photo of the day on a local news web site.
Image quality is very good. Not as good as the 5D in very low light situations but the digital noise can easily be taken care of in post processing. Overall I'm extremely pleased with the 7D. It rocks!
What's great about it: 8 Frames Per Second

The Remote Works Great but I Wonder....

If I really needed for someone else to setup my remote for me. I watched as the Geek Squad technician went through the process of setting up the remote and he had the remote working properly in about 10 minutes. If you think about it his 10 minutes of work cost me $150 or about $15.00 per minute. That's pretty dang expensive in my book!
I had my remote setup in December 2008 and am just now posting the review because I wanted to spent some time using it to make sure I got my money's worth from it. I have and it's really nice to have one remote to control all of your devices instead of multiple remotes. If the price were lower I'd give this service a 5-star rating.
What's not so great: Price

Looks Great!

Our room was pre-wired for 5 speakers so our Geek Squad guy had the pleasure of installing 5 speakers for us. He did a fantastic job and was very particular about making sure the three speakers in the front of the room lined up perfectly and the same for the rear speakers. Before doing any work he made sure anything that could possibly get dirty was covered with a drop cloth. The room was spotless when he finished.

Excellent Job!

I was very impressed with the technician that setup our system. He had a lot of stuff to do on his trip to our house but he was very professional and efficient at doing his job. He spent time with my wife and me going over everything he installed and making sure everything was setup just like we wanted. If I ever buy another system for another room I'll certainly have the Geek Squad come out and set it up again.

Well Worth the Cost

We knew we wanted a nice media room in our new house so we spent the $$$ to have a consultant come out to our house while it was still being built. This way he could see the location where the speakers would be pre-wired, etc. He asked lots of questions about the things we planned to watch and to our surprise even recommended a smaller TV than we were originally planning to buy. After taking inventory of the components we already had he emailed us a couple of lists of things to buy. We were undecided about wall mounting the TV so he provided a list of options with a wall mount and without. He also provided multiple choices for TVs and Blu-ray players.
Shopping list in-hand we headed to the store and bought everything on his list. The best part came when the price he quoted for one item was lower than it should have been the folks at the store honored the lower price without question. We are extremely pleased with our consultation.
What's great about it: Complete list of eveything to buy once consulation is completed

what kind of sd card do I need to buy for my garmin nuvi 1300?

I am confused on what kind of micro sd card to purchase for memory. I would like to purchase a 16 gb but am confused. What is the class 2, or 4 card ? I dont know what kind of card to buy??
The manual doesn't list any special requirements for the card so I would buy the cheapest one you can find.

What are the best GPS models for Geo Cacheing

What are the best GPS models for Geo Cacheing.
It depends. If you want an all in one solution where you can do paperless caching then you'll want to get one of the Oregon models. Note: You'll need to be a premium member at geocaching.com to download pocket queries which can be imported directly into the GPS.

If you just want a good GPS for finding the cache but not storing logs then use the GPSMap 60C series. I use my iPod Touch with Geosphere caching application and a GPSMap 60Cx for my caching and love this setup.

Does gps help locate vehicle in emergency like Onstar?

does gps help locate vehicle in emergency like Onstar?
No, the GPS can be used to tell emergency crews your exact location or if you have one that supports bluetooth you can place calls from it but otherwise the GPS will not send out any kind of emergency messages. There are devices that can perform this function but your average GPS can't do it.
