This movie is terrible. It is a direct to video, extremely low-budget "mockbuster" designed to siphon sales off of the "Battle: Los Angeles" market. The story is laughably holed and terrible, the digital effects come straight out of 1994. The sets, wardrobe, and props look like they were raided from the Eagle River Community Theater Playhouse... I could kick this sorry, shameless piece of profiteering all day long. No reputable retailer has any business selling this title. The only people to whom I would recommend this travesty are those with too little regret, too much time, and the cash to waste (and I do mean waste)... this will cure all three problems at once.
Skip 'er like a flat rock.
What's great about it: It's better than MercForce.
What's not so great: It's only slightly better than MercForce.

I really rolled the dice on this one, and I'm glad I did. There are few movies like this that display such a loving execution of technical production. Visually, it's astonishing. The 3D rendering on blu-ray is second to none, and is so crisp that there is now a dent in the floor in front of my TV where my jaw kept hitting it.
The story will not surprise seasoned moviegoers, and the arc is a bit predictable, but this does little to detract from the experience overall. Younger viewers (preteen and younger) needn't worry about that so much, but may be a bit put off by the intensity of some of the scenes ( you won't see blood or gore, but there is no shortage of theatrical implications of violence). This film also addresses some fairly heavy social issues, so some parental guidance for the aforementioned kiddos would probably not be a bad idea.
Also, this movie is FULL of fowl language.
Get it? Fowl ? Man, I'm funny.
And no, I don't recall hearing ANY profanity.
What's great about it: Great family movie, only the most emo of teens can dislike it. Fantastic production values, top notch cast, AMAZING 3D.
What's not so great: Potentially a bit much for the young 'uns in a few scenes, and the story may not surprise you.

This has got to be one of the best films I've seen in a very long time. The acting, direction, and production are superb. The subject matter is more than a little dark and the film definitely earns its R rating. Tommy Lee Jones delivers an excellent performance as a small town west Texas sheriff, and Javier Bardem's performance is absolutely classic. Some people really hate the ending to this movie, but I personally think it was perfect commentary and suited the story quite well. It's grim, darkly funny, exciting, and exceptionally well-paced. Great film. Make no mistake, however, this is NOT a family night movie. Check it out.
What's great about it: The Coens are at the top of their game
What's not so great: A little dark for a lot of people, the ending may make you angry :)

This one is a real stinker. I bought it for the 360 and within an hour made it my life's mission to let everyone know that this thing is the video game equivalent of the bubonic plague. It's pretty to look at, but the game play itself it atrocious. Here... here's my strategy guide... are you ready? 1. Run up to enemy (or stand still and let it come to you) 2. Tap the button 4 times. 3. Repeat. 4. You win!!!
You will have more fun watching the movie while holding your game system controller in your hand (don't forget to keep pressing that button over and over and over and over and over and over...) than you will playing this hunk of offal. If the ratings could go into the negatives, buddy, you better bet this game would be there. Avoid at all costs.
What's great about it: Pretty Visuals, Good voicing.

This title absolutely blew me away. Watching it in 1080p hi-def is a gorgeous visual experience. The story lacks the excessive convolutions and pretense that usually accompany anime 'masterpieces' and provides a well-paced, expertly directed odyssey into a vision of a darkly lined but optimistic high-tech future. John Woo's fingerprints are all over this one, as well. If you haven't seen the first two, this one may have a bit of a learning curve, but it's an excellent watch and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys stunning visuals with their fun stories. 3 thumbs up.
What's great about it: Fantastic Visuals, Well Written, Incredible Direction

There's nothing I can say here that hasn't been well encapsulated by the previous reviews. There's a reason this thing has a 1 star rating. Nothing about this game is done well, or even right. Everything about it is broken, faulty, or laughably low quality, except the main menu which I must say works like a champ. Skip this one. If you want some good WW2 shooter action try the COD series, or MOH Airborne. All are eons ahead of Minute of Defeat.
What's great about it: Game comes in durable green box
What's not so great: You actually get the game with the box

Based solely on research through press conferences and videos it looks like Rockstar has done it again. Based in the late 40's, you are a WWII hero trying his hand at law enforcement. You start as an officer on beat patrol and work your way up to traffic, homicide, arson ect. Solve crimes based on true stories along the way. With the occasional gunfire it has a taste of the classic GTA freerome feel mixed in with Heavy Rain. Rockstar always had problems making detailed players until Red Dead Redemption, but for L.A. Noire they used a method 5 years in the making and developed by Rockstar which implements 32 High Def cameras recording every little muscle movement on the actors faces. This is especially helpful because you have to determine if a suspect is lying based on voice tone and facial/body expressions. I will definitely be pre-ordering this little gem. Its not often Rockstar comes out with a game, but when they do its a game fit for the Gods.

It's called a preview.

Surely you've heard of one. It's where folks go to present their opinions, hopes, and share information they have gleaned about a title BEFORE it releases. Pretty much any retail online shop allows them.
Didn't like the movie, 3D effects were even worse.

The movie itself was just lame. But that might just be me. 3D though was really bad, and that's a fact. I'm using LG 55LX6500 and that so far was the only movie that showed considerable amount of ghosting. Others like Resident Evil 3D for example was flawless when it comes to 3D quality. As I researched it seems not all 3D movies are created equal.

I own this movie, have watched it more than a few times, and on my rig, it's spotless.
