I had a set of nice bookshelf monitors before these and I found that both sounded great. Plus you get a sub with the system. It is a bit more expensive than other 2.1 but well worth the premium.
So try it out for yourself, I'm sure you will be pleased.
What's great about it: Setup was a breeze, I got it on sale for $130 after tax so it was a great price.
What's not so great: Maybe could use an update on the appearance, since it hasn't changed in a while.
I would recommend this to a friend!
