This is my second GPS, replacing a make which is no longer supported (not Garmin). As with anything, you need to perform some tasks differently. One thing that seems to be easier: Setting a 'favorite' spot for your current location. Ran a couple test trips & it worked fine. When necessary, I was able to alter the route (using waypoints) to match my given route preference.
I either have not had a traffic issue or don't have the Navteq in Chicago so I can't comment on this feature.
Besides my personal unit I also bought two more, for my college age kids who need to travel to clinicals, student teaching sites, etc.
What's great about it: Very easy to set-up, intuitive to use.
What's not so great: I have not used it enough to find any issues.
