Buffylvr's Reviews

Chris Columbus' wildly successful adaptation of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English and Spanish soundtracks are rendered in DD-EX 5.1. Subtitles are accessible in both of those languages. Supplemental materials include a handful of interactive activities and games, deleted footage, and a tour of Hogwarts. Those with a DVD-ROM drive can access trading cards, sign up for Harry Potter emails, and play additional games.

good movie. the worst one in the trilogy so far though. i just saw the third, RE-Extinction, and it was great. kind of short though. the first one was better than this one too.

Not so good

this is a wannabe horror/thriller movie. It's kind of a ripoff of the stephen king book and at the same time, pirates of the carribean.

The DVD of this direct-to-video sequel to Disney's Pocahontas boasts a widescreen 1.66:1 transfer. English and Spanish soundtracks are available in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a French soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. English and Spanish subtitles are also available. Supplemental materials on this disc include a Pocahontas 2 DVD storybook, an interactive trivia game, and a cartoon featuring Little Hiawatha. Though there is no information about filmmaking in the extras, kids should enjoy them all.

Best Horror

This movie gets you scared right from the beginning and then never lets up. Also, there is no annoying background music like in The Cave, which makes it more scarier.

Horror-rocker Rob Zombie's directorial debut gets a polished treatment in this DVD release. House of 1000 Corpses has been given a letterboxed transfer at its original widescreen aspect ratio, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. In addition to the film, the disc incorporates several bonus features, including an alternate commentary track from director Zombie, several deleted scenes, the film's original theatrical trailer, and another alternate audio track which isolates the film's musical score.
