Katsuhiro Otomo's legendary Akira gets the deluxe treatment on this twin DVD release from Pioneer. The disc boasts a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.78:1. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while a Japanese soundtrack has been recorded in Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the option to have the graffiti in the film translated into English, an interview with the director, original trailers, and interviews with the people responsible for restoring Akira into the beautiful shape it is in on this DVD. This is the definitive home video release of Akira.

One of the best

Akira is a classic anime. To some people, it is one of the best anime out there. While I don't think it is the best, it is really high up on the list! The animation is top-notch, especially it being done in 1988. The voice/lip-sync is right on, if you watch it in subtitle that is! The story is extremely intelligent and sometimes brutal. You will not be disappointed!

True to the orginal!
on September 14, 2007

This is one of my favorite movies for several reasons. One: I'm a huge monster movie fan (Kong, Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, etc...). Second: It holds true to the orginal (unlike the 1970's remake). Third: I thought the relationship between Ann Darrow and King Kong was the truest sense of love (the orginal failed to accomplish this).
The acting was really well done. The action was well above my expectations, and I was expecting a lot! The CGI was very realistic, except maybe in a few spots, but the rest of the movie made up for it. The music was right on!
Overall, a great movie with everything done the right way!

This is a must watch for any person that lives on the Planet Earth. An Inconvenient Truth focuses on global warming and what is currently happening due to it, as well as what the future could hold for us if we keep this negative pace up. Al Gore's Slideshow will open your eyes and will make you feel motivated to make a difference in how you live your life. This is definitely something you'll want to see, and you'll want to share it with as many people you can.

Excellent Game!

This is an excellent game. It plays extremely well on older computers, even with max settings. It is very user friendly, and easy learning curve involved! All the professions are fun to play, and you get a good number to pick from. I have played most of them, but Hunter is my favorite as it is a pet class. There is also crafting in WoW, and not as in-depth as some other MMOG's, it is still done very well.
If PVP is your thing, they offer many different options. From PVP servers, to Battlegrounds. You'll definitely be pleased!
