Okay, I admit it, Halo 3 doesn't set any new trends in the field of FPS games nor does it dramatically change or revolutionize the gameplay from its previous sequels.
What Halo 3 does do however is put everything in the game to make the fun last as long as possible. And that's pretty much what any gamer could ask for in a game.

Fun game

I like the fusion between first person and third person view. This is the next evolution in shooter games. Taking cover and shooting from behind cover adds a new dimension to an already bland and saturated field of first person shooter games.
A.I in the game is good for most of the time. Your teamates will occasionally shoot out in the open without trying to find cover during intense fire fights, which is annoying. But for the most part they do what you tell them to do and avoid going down a majority of the time.

Learn more about Gears of War. (Flash demo) SynopsisIn a frightening future, humanity faces a new enemy of warlike creatures that have risen from the depths of the earth. As the Locust Horde marches forth, you'll take on the role of Marcus Fenix, a former war hero with his own internal demons to contend with. As he faces his most dangerous enemy yet, he must learn to lay his past to rest and lead a troop of soldiers to victory. In this epic tale of blood and glory, the fate of humankind rests on his shoulders alone. With realistic environments rendered in stunning detail, you will be immersed in a living, dynamic world governed by the laws of physics. Utilize the game's interactive environment to turn ordinary objects and natural elements into tools of war. Wield a massive arsenal of weapons designed to give you the power you need to succeed against your foes. Advanced artificial intelligence means the soldiers you command are nearly indistinguishable from human players. Multiplayer options abound via Xbox Live capabilities that help you take your online gameplay to the next level.

Excellent Game

The campaign is extremely well done. Granted it is a little short at about 8 hours if you're playing on easy. Bump up the difficulty and you'll probably milk 10 hours out of the game. If you like horror movies, this game has plenty of missions where your palms will start getting sweaty and you're heart beats at 100 mph wondering what's around that next dark corner. The sound is excellent and so are the graphics. Definitely should play on hd and surround sound on this one.
Gameplay controls are user-friendly. The A button makes you take cover and the right bumber reloads you're weapon. I liken the gameplay to playing paintball. You'll be spending the majority of your time shooting from behind cover while avoiding incoming shots and running (using the A button) from one cover to another.

Beautiful game

Oblivion is still one of the best looking games out there on any platform. Gameplay can be hard if you end up messing up your character creation. Which is really easy to do. Leveling up your character requires planning ahead and only raising the attributes that play to your character's strengths to avoid having a weak character. Not doing so can make the game incredibly difficult because as you level up, so do the enemies you encounter. When that happens, you just end up quitting and start over creating your character again because there's really nothing you can do at that point.
I think this is why some people find the game difficult and end up never completing it, including myself. Reminds me of Grand Theft Auto. Who's finished that game? seriously.

It's watching your dreams go out on a stretcher and fighting for inches that feel like miles. It's the hard-hitting, nerve-rattling world of NFL football as only Madden can deliver. I've been playing Madden since 2000. But this one has to be the worst ever. The animations seem choppier, players look akward, and you lose the feeling of being in a packed football stadium. Maybe it's just the PS3 version that is suffering from the frame rate, but I don't think the graphics are just PS3 exclusive. I can't say because I didn't buy the 360 version. (Had to buy something for the PS3)
On the plus side, I like the playmaker controls and more pre-snap audibles you can do on offense and defense. Although they've had that in previous games before, aside from the playmaker control.
