Der's Reviews

The thrill and allure of the Skyrim series is that you get to choose who your character will become. Do you wish to uphold the powers of good? Then use your skills to battle evil. Care to switch it up and fight with the bad guys for a change? The freedom is yours. In a game where every choice you make affects the future outcome of the storyline, it's easy to become lost in this ethereal and transcendent land of lore. With The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition, you have access to the iconic story of the original game, as well as the official Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn add-ons for an immersive experience you won't soon forget. The storytelling and adventure of The Elder Scrolls comes to life in one comprehensive experience with this Legendary Edition that places additional weapons, armor, spells and shouts at your disposal. In Dawnguard you have the option of battling the Vampire Lord Harkon as a member of the ancient order to save the sun, or becoming a Vampire Lord yourself. Explore the vast island of Solstheim, off the coast of Morrowind, whose lands are littered with ash wastes and glacial valleys. As you become more powerful with shouts that bend the will of your enemies and even tame dragons, you come closer to facing off against your deadliest adversary ~ the first Dragonborn. Create a home for your character that reflects your style ~ from a simple, single-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with armory, alchemy laboratory and more. Hearthfire lets you purchase land and build from the ground up with tools, such as the drafting table and carpenter's workbench, that transform clay, stone and logs into structures and furnishings. You can even adopt children to bring the light of youth to your hearth. The Elder Scrolls gives you the chance to live another life in another world that has consequences and choices, just like this life on Earth. Except in Skyrim, you get the added perk of battling vampires and dragons to spice things up.

A nice upgrade from Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion

I was a big fan of Elder Scroll IV: Oblivion and Skyrim is a nice upgrade. The graphics are better, smoother and more detailed. The world is still expansive with nearly endless side missions, tasks and interactions to be had. This xBox 360 game does have very long load times at certain points which breaks the game play but outside of that, I'm very happy with my experience.

Finally, a Complete Collection of Blade Runner!

Verified Purchase:Yes
Blade Runner has seen five different versions over the years and this set includes all of them. That means you get the Theatrical Cut, International Cut, Director's Cut, Final Cut and the special Workshop Cut. All five versions come with this set plus a few fun extras for collectors. You can a small model of Deckard's police car, a hologram image from the film and a small hardcover film art book. The discs themselves come in a standard Blu-Ray box with enough holders for the five discs, but nothing fancy on that end.
My Best Buy number: 2017237462
What's great about it: All 5 versions of the film in one box set

Red vs Blue Continues to Shine w/ Better Graphics
on January 13, 2012

from Overland Park, KS
I've been watching Red vs Blue since EB Games was around and sold the DVD's in-store. Season 8 was the first time you saw true, customized CGI animation for the series that broke away from the normal confines of the Halo games, both console and PC. Season 9 takes this a notch higher with more free form CGI and graphics. Rooster Teeth (the production company) is finally able to do whatever they want to bring the Red vs Blue world to life and does so in an intense, dramatic, hilarious 9th season of their famous web series. I can't wait for season 10! PS Tucker did it!
What's great about it: Hilarious, awesome graphics, fun characters and exciting, deep story.
What's not so great: No Blu-Ray sadly.

Pegg & Frost Pair Great With Rogen
on January 8, 2012
Posted by: Der
from Overland Park, KS
I'm a huge fan of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost's first two buddy films, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. This movie doesn't quite rank as high as those two on my list, but it is still hilarious and the cast, for the most part, does a great job bringing the story along. Kristen Wiig's character seems to be pretty over the top as she develops, but aside from her unnecessary vulgar scenes, the movie is fun and enjoyable and I look forward to Pegg & Frost's next film.
What's great about it: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Seth Rogen, need I say more?
What's not so great: Wiig is unnecessarily vulgar

Mario at his Best in First 3D Performance
on January 8, 2012

Nintendo does a fantastic job combining several different version of previous Mario games to bring this beautiful 3D world to life. While the game design, levels, enemies and power-ups are closer to the older NES and SNES Mario games, especially Mario 3 and Super Mario World, they combine the 3D style of Mario 64 and the Mario Galaxy series to give more depth and challenge to the Mario universe.
What's great about it: New power-ups, challenging levels
What's not so great: Only available for 3DS

Futurama's return to a normal season of episodes was a lot of fun. The episodes are new and exciting and it leaves you hoping for yet another season. The season also includes the special holiday episode that came out later in the year.

No one wanted to make this movie...
on January 12, 2011

While it begins as a joke, the idea that the Family Guy team didn't really want to make this movie was made clear. The jokes were more flat than Blue Harvest and more sarcastic than Something, Something, Something, Dark Side. In all, it's Family Guy and if you enjoy those characters and running jokes then I'm sure you'll enjoy this fun parody of Star Wars: Episode VI. Personally, I hope they stop here and don't do episodes 1-3.
What's great about it: Family Guy Star Wars parody.
What's not so great: Jokes becoming stale after the first two parodies.

The Halo universe comes full circle in final game.

Halo, the original redefined first person shooters while the second opened the flood gates for millions of hours of online multiplayer. Halo 3 brought the best of both worlds with an ending some found frustrating but somehow suitable. Halo 3: ODST introduced new characters and new game play to keep the franchise fresh.
Now Halo: Reach brings the best of all four worlds. The graphics are the best yet, with incredibly customizable armor (plus you can even play as a female now). New weapons and a slew of vehicles are added in a new game that ties together the Halo storyline with exciting, fun characters and familiar enemies.
The multiplayer includes incredibly large maps, a Blood Gulch remake (awesome for those Red vs Blue fans), and all the vehicles you could want. Added abilities (including jet pack, invincibility and more), weapons and some very nice enhanced audio giving the action a more real feel.
Overall, this game ends the Halo franchise in a great way. If you have enjoyed Halo throughout the years (and enjoyed not being Master Chief in ODST) then you'll love Reach.
What's great about it: Graphics, weapons, vehicles, multiplayer maps, storyline
What's not so great: Could be longer

Ultimate Star Trek Blu-Ray w/ fun collectables
on December 8, 2009

from Lawrence, KS
J.J. Abrams does an incredible job bringing the Star Trek franchise back to life. This new movie, whether you want to call is a reboot (remake), a sequel or a prequel, bring Star Trek to a new generation in a bold and exciting way while still capturing the essence of what Star Trek movies have been for over 30 years. The new cast does a great job of honoring as well as reinventing the original crew of the Enterprise from the 60's TV show and the action heavy style helps bring in new fans for future Star Trek films.
The special effects really come alive on this Blu-Ray, whether it's the newly designed Enterprise or just the transporter sequence.
I've watched this movie with fellow Trekkies/Trekkers as well as some who have never even watched a single movie or episode but EVERYONE has truly enjoyed this movie and can't wait for the next one.
A couple fun cameos, which I will not name just in case you don't know, really bring in a couple laughs for all and some fun memories for true Star Trek fans.
What's great about it: Incredible special effects. Tons of extra features. Great reboot/sequel/prequel to continue the Star Trek Legacy
What's not so great: Collectable Star Trek insignia pins don't really come with a special display case like the product describes.

Does Verizon have SIMM Chips for cell phones?

I am working in China and bought a SIMM chip from China Mobile. It works in any phone that I want to buy. The phone I purchased has two SIMM slots for travel. One now has the China Mobile chip and I'd like to get a Verizon SIMM when I get back to the US for leave. That way I don't need to keep up with two phones, charges, etc... I am currently a Verizon customer and would like to keep the service I have.
I'm sorry but Verizon does not use SIMM cards in any of their cell phones. Most companies do, but Verizon does not. Depending on the phone, if it is unlocked, should be able to be put on the Verizon network, but it depends on the phone model. Your best bet is to contact Verizon to find out. Otherwise you'll have to go with a different carrier or get a different phone.

Do I have to start a new contract to get a new smart phone?

Do I have to start a new contract if i want a new smart phone?
You do not have to start a new contract, however, depending on how upgrading works with your current provider or plan, you might be required to pay full price for the phone which can be significantly higher than the price you get with a new contract.

Example: Verizon's Motorola Droid is $199 with a plan but $599 without a new plan.

It is best to contact your provider and find out when you can upgrade next or stop by Best Buy Mobile to see what phones cost without a contract.

Hope that was helpful.

choose btw tmobile my touch and iphone

My contract with sprint has being over and i want to go to a different phone company. Please help decide btw tmobile mytouch and iphone and the contarcts.

Annonymous
The real trick here comes down to which is more important to you, the phone or the network. AT&T's network is far superior to T Mobiles, unless you live in a major U.S. city (E.g. Philadelphia, Chicago, L.A.). However, the MyTouch is a more reliable phone than the iPhone. While the iPhone has many advanced features and more Apps than any other phone it has recently been voted as the Worst Cellphone of all time when it comes to actually making calls. It has a very high call drop rate. The MyTouch is also more customizable than the iPhone but in reality the only phone that truly rivals the iPhone's abilities in the new Motorola Droid from Verizon which I currently have. It essentially does all that the iPhone does, with a smaller app store (which is growing every day) but it does have a slide out qwerty keyboard which the iPhone doesn't. Verizon's network is a little more reliable than AT&T's so that might be a good option. As far as price goes, Verizon and AT&T are pretty even but T Mobile will be the cheapest out of the three.

I hope this helps you.
