Horror to Brutal
on October 12, 2007

I must say that this is the most gruesome horror movie I have ever seen. Flesh eating zombies killing humans. This is a great horror film. This is a unique film and its brutal to the eyes but I love it. I love horror movies and this proved to be one of the best horror movies i have ever seen. If you love horror movies you will definitely love this movie. Imagine flesh eating zombies walking around eating people; how sick is that?!

New Line has produced an excellent DVD package for James Wong's Final Destination, despite the fact that beyond its novel premise the film is just another teen slasher flick of limited appeal. Presented in anamorphic widescreen, the film looks absolutely terrific, maybe as good as home cinema can get. The Dolby Digital 5.1 Sound is impressive on a more subtle level, but is certainly never found wanting. Beyond the so-so theatrical trailer and some DVD-ROM features, there are some fine extras on this disc. Of the two featurettes, the 20-minute study of a real-life psychic is the less interesting, although it may be of real value to anyone interested in the subject. The 13-minute look at test screenings is more compelling, illustrating with humor the enormous bearing they can have on a movie's final edit. This ties in nicely with the inclusion in the deleted scenes section of a strangely sentimental alternate ending, which was passed over after test screenings in favor of the crowd-pleasing ending eventually used. The feature commentary by director Wong, producer Glen Morgan, editor James Coblentz, and (intermittently) writer Jeffrey Reddick is mainly standard fare, but with some good insight and interesting background (apparently Tobey Maguire was the first choice for Devon Sawa's role!). The commentary by Sawa and three of the other cast members is more light-hearted but actually quite dull. A third commentary of sorts is provided on the film's isolated score, with composer Shirley Walker offering a truly fascinating insight into the process of creating music for a motion picture. However silly Final Destination might be as a film, the presentation and content of this DVD are absolutely outstanding.

This movie is one of the best horror movies I have ever seen. Death stalks a group of tenagers; killing them one by one. no one can escape death because its our destiny to die sooner or later. i mean how these characters died was quite scary. I have nightmares every time i watch this movie.

Jack Nicholson stars in a retelling of the famous werewolf legend in director Mike Nichols Wolf. Presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, this is a very solid looking transfer that features natural flesh tones and well saturated colors. While a few imperfections exist (including a smattering of edge enhancement), overall this is a pleasing transfer which should excite animalistic fans everywhere. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround in English as well as Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround in Spanish and French. The 5.1 mix is not quite as exciting as one might hope (while there are a few directional effects and the range seems to be confined to the front and rear speakers), though it does offer up crystal clear dialogue, music and effects. Also included on this disc are English, Spanish and Korean subtitles. As for extra features, Columbia has apparently decided that a bare bones disc was the only way to go for this release. Not a single extra feature is included on Wolf.

Reporting:Vampires

I love vampire movies so you know I was going to love this movie. Brad Pitt stars in this movie; he makes vampires look really handsome. (lol) This was a great thriller; it was an interesting movie. A mortal interviews a vampire who talks about his life story; how cool is that. Imagine if there was a real life vampire in this world and you were interviewing him/her; how cool would that be? If you love vampire movies as much as I do and you love Brad Pitt you should definitely buy and watch this movie.

Stephen Sommers' summer movie extravaganza Van Helsing comes to DVD in this full-screen edition thanks to Universal Studios (the fully recommended widescreen edition is also available). Packed to the gills with extras, this disc presents the film in a cropped 1.33:1 full-frame picture that fails to present the film in its original format, with both 5.1 and 2.0 tracks for your home theater to sink its teeth into. The multitude of extras includes an interactive tour of Dracula's castle, where the viewer is given the option to listen to Dracula (Richard Roxburgh) ramble on about the different sections of his homely abode. Other features include a ten-minute "Bringing the Monsters to Life" making-of that introduces the audience to the master effects technicians who brought the film's many pixels to life, while "You Are in the Movie" presents a look behind the scenes by an unprecedented amount of hidden cameras on the set. A blooper reel has also been included, as has a ten-minute "Legend of Van Helsing" special that delves into the character's lore from books to the big screen. Two commentaries are available for your listening enjoyment -- the first with director Stephen Sommers and producer/editor Bob Ducsay, and the second featuring actors Richard Roxburgh, Shuler Hensley, and Will Kemp. Finally, a playable version of the Van Helsing game can be accessed through an Xbox game console that allows you to play through the first exciting level of the game. If you're a pushover for Sommers' brand of over-the-top adventure antics, then this disc is for you. This movie is also available in the three-disc Ultimate Collector's Edition featuring an additional feature-packed disc along with another DVD that includes Universal's original Dracula, Frankenstein, and Wolf Man movies, which inspired Van Helsing.

I love this movie because it is based on my favorite classical horror creatures. Dracula and werewolves. The van helsing character was really cool. He kills dracula by turning into a werewolf and biting dracula. This was a intriguing movie because I never saw anything like this before. It was a great movie!

I love this movie! I loved the songs and the plot of this movie. It is set in the times of adolf hitler. How a captain wants to move away and escape adolf hitler. Julie Andrews is great in this movie; I love all the movies that she stars in. She is a great actor. This movie is music to my ears and I treasure it with all my heart. It is the best musical I have ever seen and nobody has been better than it yet.

My heart will love this movie forever! I mean its a bitter sweet movie but I just love it. It stars Kate winslet and the handsome Orlando Dicaprio! This movie is all about a girl who meets this poor guy and they fall in love. However, they are faced with hardships and have to face many obstacles to be together. They are on this huge ship named the titanic that sinks because it hits a huge iceberg. The guy dies and the gils lives a long full happy life and she also dies at the end. Its a beautiful movie and it will make you cry. This movie is still 1 in the box office! It has the highest box office revenues! My heart will go onnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Pop singer Mandy Moore stars in her first feature film, an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' young love tearjerker, A Walk to Remember. The film is presented in its original anamorphic widescreen 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Both English and French soundtrack options are available, along with English, French, and Spanish subtitles. Special features include two feature-length commentaries. The first is an amusing commentary by Shane West, Mandy Moore, and director Adam Shankman. The trio discusses cut material and gives entertaining insight into filming the movie in Dawson's Creek territory. The second commentary is a more serious narration by novelist Sparks and screenwriter Karen Janszen who talk about the differences between the book and the movie and the film's overall themes. Moore's "Cry" music video is included with the film's theatrical trailer and cast and crew filmographies. After listening to the first commentary, it becomes obvious that outtakes and deleted scenes should have been added to the disc, as they would've been a great addition to this too-sparse package.

I liked this movie because it had a great plot. Its all about a girl who has cancer and is an outcast at her high school. She falls in love with this popular guy and then this movie becomes a bitter sweet romantic movie. It's a beautiful movie and it has a sad ending. Bring out the box of tissues.

A classic story for all ages. In the summer of 1963, innocent 17-year-old Baby (Grey) vacations with her parents at a Catskill's resort. One evening, she is drawn to the staff quarters by stirring music. There she meets Johnny, the hotel dance instructor, who is as experienced as Baby is naive. Baby soon becomes Johnny's pupil in dance and love. Starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
