Modern Warfare 2

I have been off and on with this MW2 since its' release and I have to say that it is a very enjoyable game. The fact that I keep coming back to it speaks for itself enough considering how easily I tend to bore of a game.
+
First, I have to touch on what everyone is saying about the campaign. Personally I enjoyed it. The storyline was decent and most definitely an interesting concept. It wasn't the hardest campaign to finish, but it was fun none-the-less, I have a decent amount hours logged on the campaign itself.
+
The key highlight for me has been the multiplayer and xbox live play. I have spent a significant amount of time on live, as well as just doing some free-for-all matches with some friends of mine. I have found the weapon leveling system to be very fun! I like how you have to posses either a certain amount of skill or large amount of freetime to unlock upgrades for your weapons. I always hated the person who would run around with the best weapon and equipment on a game and obtain a decent score just because of their inventory.
+
Now, on the other hand, one bad thing about the live play and weapons... The akimbo shotguns... Just in case you are not familiar with this, it is a dual wielded shotgun that does very high damage and has a rediculous spread that will hit its target if you are even remotely close. It takes little to no skill with this weapon and every online game, there seems to be some no talent idiot running around blasting people with these. Last I checked, video games are quite a bit more fun when there is some sort of tactics or planning employed.
+
Overall, I have found this game to be great! Great graphics, awesome leveling system, fun campaign, and intense multiplayer action. I would recomment this game to any FPS lover.
What's great about it: Weapon/Player Level System on Live & Multi, Graphics, Gameplay Controls, Level Detail, Weapon Selection
What's not so great: *Multiplayer Advancement Does not Coordinate With Live, Multiplayer Live is Limited to One Screen
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Incubus Cd to date...
on April 20, 2009

This is definately Incubus' best CD yet! I can listen to this album any time of any day! Me and my friends are always looking for great music to cruise around to, and we definately found it with "Morning View".
In this Cd, Incubus finally found their distinctive sound. From the first song to the last, you'll realize that the amazing first half of the album isn't "Just a Phase". Most bands put all their good songs at the beginning of their release; Incubus made sure that every song on the CD was a worthy of those first three song slots! Get this Cd and you won't be disappointed!
What's great about it: The music!!!

Best GTA I have played as of yet.
on April 6, 2009
Posted by: Volearix
from Zionsville, IN
Though this may not be the most in depth game that I have ever played, it is probably the best GTA that I have ever played. There are more than a couple reasons that I say this, but let's start with the bad...
+
1.) The Vehicle Handling - The worst thing about this game in my opinion is how the vehicles are controlled. There are only a very select few cars that I am willing to cruise around in throughout the game because of the poor handling! That is probably just personal preference however.
+
2.) Still working on finding this one!
+
Now, onto the good stuff...
+
1.) Niko - The main character is so much better than that of the previous GTA "heroes". He doesn't have that, "I'm CJ *****" attitude, he isn't completely silent, and he isn't convinced that he is the king of the world. Really laid back and only seldom does he spout off some pointless quip.
+
2.) The Map - Though I was a big fan of Vice City's map, I have to say that thus far I am enjoying the new Liberty City more. This could just be because of the massive dissapointment they offered up in San Andreas (what a stinker!!!)
+
3.) The Minimal, but sufficient customization - I want to start by saying that I am a character customization "NUTZOID", but I found all the different systems that were offered in San Andreas to be neat, but for the most part dead-end wastes of time. GTA isn't really about being this custom character, it's about playing out the story that is in front of you, and besides, you can change up your clothing however you wish and you can still obtain certain properties! That is really good enough, in my opinion, for this game.
+
4.) The missions - So far, what I have played, this game is pretty fun. It offers up some fun missions that aren't impossible, but that aren't just a walk in the park. It seems like the faster that you complete the mission the easier it is (once you have played a while you'll know what I'm talking about).
+
5.) The Combat - There is a new and vastly improved hand-to-hand fighting system. This new system allows you to punch, kick, block and even disarm your opponent! Also, when wielding a weapon, you can blindfire around corners, and even use cover.
+
All of that just begins to cover the things that I have found better about this game than the previously released versions! Overall, this is a great game, I would suggest it to any gamer, especially fans of the GTA series!
What's great about it: Niko, weapons, missions, the map
What's not so great: The driving controlls.

I bought this cd along with a Basshunter cd hoping that I would find a couple awesome new cds... I found one, but this is unfortunately not it.
+
I was basing my whole perception of this band off of the song Don't Cry Out. I really loved that song, the chorus was so ambient and had such an amazing flow to it. Someone told me the rest of the cd was like that... it wasn't.
+
Now, not to say that a ton of people don't like this music, but I guess that I was just disappointed because it wasn't what I had expected/hoped for. Some of the songs are pretty decent, though not my cup of tea.
+
I can't really say that I would tell people to steer clear of this album, especially for as cheap as it is, but I can say that you should really begin listening to it without any real expectation and with more of an open mind.
What's great about it: Don't Cry Out, some of the actual instrumentals.
What's not so great: Just wasn't what I expected due to hearing Don't Cry Out first.

Awesome Techno Rock!

Originally I discovered Basshunter from a friend of mine. He showed me Dota, awesome song, and I was hooked!
+
The whole cd contains upbeat, happy, dance music. Great music for clubs or just parties in general. The songs are all so very similar to each other that if you like one song, you will probably like them all!
+
Good cd overall, contains some strange remixed versions of the first few songs, definitely worth 8 bucks! I would check it out if you are into happy techno, or just great dance music in general!
What's great about it: I Miss You, Angel In The Night, In Her Eyes, Love You More, Dota
What's not so great: Every song sounds exactly the same, but, it's still good!

Die Hard
on January 2, 2009
Posted by: Volearix
from Zionsville, IN
I have never been a true fan of the Die Hard series, but I do have to give this movie its' fair credit. The whole thing is based on the theory of a computer massive scale "firesale".
+
In this installment, McClane (Bruce Willis) teams up with Matt Farrell (Justin Long), a computer hacker that accidentally helps an anarchist group begin their large scale hack.
+
From the beginning of the movie, as one would come to expect from the Die Hard franchise, there is a ton of action. The plot is not initially defined, but slowly peaks it's head out into the light as the movie progresses.
+
Mcclane will have to save the world from computer terrorists this time, and as you quickly learn throughout the movie, technology is not his strong suit. I would probably say that this movie is at least worth seeing once or twice. Not too bad at all.
What's great about it: Well rounded movie with a consistant plot...
What's not so great: They kill Maggie!!!

Great movie
on January 2, 2009

With all the game to movie adaptations, the ones that are complete bombs, I was hesitant about seeing this movie at first. Then Christmas rolled around and my girl bought it for me...
+
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the film as a whole. There was a ton of action and an interesting storyline. I really think that the cast delivered extremely well, way better than I had suspected.
+
As I was saying, there is a large amount of action, but best of all they get the point across without blood flying all over the place. I hate when movies have to have unrealistic blood exploding all over the place!
+
Since getting the movie on Christmas, I have watched it three times and it hasn't yet become boring. I would certainly recommend at least seeing it once. Good stuff!
What's great about it: Olga Kurylenko, Casting was pretty good, good story, lot of action with not a lot of "blood and guts"!
What's not so great: Alternate ending

Bombs Away...

I am a major AVA fan, love their music, it heavily influence the music that I write and I have to say that while this wasn't the best DVD out there, people should really take it for what it's worth. It seems to be more about the creation of the band, what lead to the Blink-182 breakup, and just a little insight to the mind of Tom Delong.
+
In the end, I found this short video pretty interesting, but I really do wish that it had more live footage. Every video that Tom releases is always short on the live action! If you are a REAL Angels fan, you can probably appreciate this video, if you just want to see a live concert, don't bother getting this dvd, just get the cd.
What's great about it: Shows some of the creation process for AVA, gives some insight to the "Blink Breakup",
What's not so great: Just like any DVD that Tom is in (All Blink DVDs), THERE ISN'T ENOUGH LIVE ACTION!

This season is short and bittersweet!
on November 26, 2008
Posted by: Volearix
from Zionsville, IN
This season is very, very short, and very to the point. It ends with an odd finale, one that I certainly didn't see coming. Overall, it's a great collection of episodes, I just wish that it was a little bit longer, I hated to see it come to an end after a measley 11 episodes. Don't expect the same barrage of hospital antics in this set as they have delivered in the previous, but expect to enjoy the one disc of entertainment that you'll be watching.
+
I would most definitely recommend purchasing this season, if nothing else, for the ending. Just a warning, not that it really matters, but they cheaped out a little bit on the video casing (No longer the interesting doctor chart, just a plain old DVD case.), not a big deal, but I just like the novelties.
What's great about it: Some good episodes, unexpected ender!
What's not so great: Very short, not many episodes, case is not typical of all the other Scrubs seasons... just a regular box.

Daniel Craig bursts into action as the newest addition to the Bond anthology! This movie sets the stage for all the Bond movies that were ever made. It finally ties up the loose ends of the woman he loved and how he became the famous 007.
+
The plot takes multiple twists and turns and somehow managed to maintain my interest even in the second hour! Great acting, great plot, great action, great new Bond girl (Eva Green), great flick!
+
This episode plays to a slightly different tune than that of previous Bond movies, but they have definitely hit the right note with this one. There are really too many different things that happen to even bother explaining the basis of the movie, but to sum it up in a few short words, Bond is back, and better than ever!
+
See this movie!!!
What's great about it: Great new Bond choice, awesome storyline with multiple elements, smart
What's not so great: very long movie!

how to hook up my pc to play files on my media player through the reciever?

go to any store that sells component to 1/8 inch or 1/32 inch (whatever your computer sound hookup uses). In other words a red/white to 1/8 inch hookup.
-
Take the red/white part and hook it into any slot of your receiver (doesn't matter if it is labeled as DVD/VCR/CD/V-AUX, they'll all work), then hook the other end into your PC. When the corosponding channel is selected on your receiver, and the music is selected on your PC, the audio should be routed through your surround sound system.
