I've been a huge Blizzard fan since I started gaming oh so many years ago. Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, not to mention their old school games. They are really great.
This time though, I'm not in their corner. I DO understand why this is a hugely popular game, but for someone who really appreciates a good game this just isn't one of them. The system is far to simplistic and unoriginal. Few races and few jobs make each character so similar to the next. The pointless and very thoughtless quest/rating system is not worth the time it took to create.
Picture 3D Diablo, and you've got World of Warcraft. Did I have a problem with Diablo, certainly not, but is this an original and entertaining game worth the annoyingly high monthly fee: Not even close! If this game were $XX.XX to purchase and then the online experience was free (aka Guild Wars) then heck yeah I'd be all about WoW. But for the price of the game + each "expansion" and then the monthly fee. I'll stick with ANYTHING else thanks.
Overall: Amusing for a moment, but not nearly worth the time or expense
