This triple-disc set provides convenient one-stop shopping for fans of The Young Ones, compiling both of its seasons plus a handful of worthwhile extras into one compact set. The set devotes one disc a piece to each season of the series and allows the viewer the option to play the episodes separately (each is broken down into six chapter stops) or all in a row. Video and audio quality are only average due to the show's rather low-budget nature, but Warner has done a solid job of preserving these elements in the cleanest possible style. The Young Ones: Every Stoopid Episode also offers a bevy of bonuses on its third disc that are likely to please the show's hardcore fans. First up are "Creating The Young Ones" and "The Young Ones and the '80s," a pair of excerpts from BBC documentaries that use interviews with the cast and crew to explain the show's genesis and significance in British culture. Both are insightful and revealing, leaving the viewer wishing the producers had included the full documentaries they came from. This disc also throws in the pilot episodes for Filthy Rich & Catflap and Bottom, a pair of later BBC series that were penned by Ben Elton and feature alumni from The Young Ones. Neither show is as consistently inspired as The Young Ones, but both are fairly entertaining and offer the show's fans the opportunity to see the gifted cast tackling different roles. Rounding out the bonus disc is a brief but informative set of talent bios that provides the viewer with additional credits and biographical info for the supporting cast and musical acts that appeared on The Young Ones.
