Great Size, Great Display features
on July 14, 2011

I have owned this alarm clock for about 3 months. The compact size is the most appealing attribute to me. I also like the display how it shows the temperature and which nature sound is on. It also has an auxiliary input. I do think the overall sound could be louder, but its not bad. I wouldn't recommend this alarm clock to those that need a very, very loud alarm to get up in the morning.
What's great about it: Compact Size, Clean Display
What's not so great: Sound could be louder.

Enjoy rich, lush audio with these surround sound speakers that feature 75W RMS power. A down-firing, ported subwoofer with a 5-1/2" driver controls powerful sound. The dedicated bass controller lets you customize the bass level to your liking.

Great speakers for a bedroom

I have owned this set for about a 2 weeks, and use them everyday to listen to music. I really have to say for the price they are more than worth it. The sub really kicks for a small sub and the surround sound is surprisingly nice. It is really great that the sub has its own volume control. I have a little white noise, but it is hardly noticeable. I do wish it had its own remote control, but for the price I am very very impressed by the quality of this Logitech product.
What's great about it: Surround Sound, great bass, Price
What's not so great: No remote

Solid Netbook, Great Value.

I actually traded in some credit card points for the diamond black AOD250-1151 and have owned it for a little over a month. I have used it everyday. I changed the operating system to Windows 7 32bit, the installation of 7 was seamless (all the xp drivers from the acer website can be used with Win 7), and the netbook seems to run a bit quicker with 7 compared to xp. The build of the netbook is very good, the keyboard is not as spacious as some of the other netbooks out there, but is very acceptable and is a breeze to get use to. The screen is very bright and vivid. The 3 cell battery sits flush in the unit and lasts about 3 hours with the screen set to the dimmest setting, just cruising the net. Also replacement 3 cells are relatively cheap, I have researched. The touchpad has multi touch function and is a little small but still responsive, the right/left click buttons are on a rocker button which is very responsive. The web cam is not the best, but does video chatting like a champ, built in mic is really good. No bluetooth. The hardrive, ram, and wifi card are readily accessible on the bottom of the netbook for upgrade purposes. It has seperate mic and headphone jacks, vga out, 3 usb's, ethernet jack, the charger brick is also very small. So far I am very impressed with this machine. I was going to upgrade the ram to the max of 2GB, but after installing Windows 7, I don't think it's necessary. This netbook has a solid feel and is great for video conferencing.
What's great about it: Size, Weight, Vivid Screen, Build Quality
What's not so great: Speakers, touchpad a tad small, keyboard is good but not as good as others.

Preferred by DVD drive manufacturers, Verbatim DVD media continues to set the standard for high-speed disc performance, reliability, and compatibility. DVD+R Double Layer nearly doubles the storage capacity with two AZO recording layers on a single-sided disc. Certified and supported by the industry high speed Double Layer writers, Verbatim discs are approved for high speed burning up to 6x speeds. Store up to 8.5GBs of video in approximately 16 minutes or less while maintaining compatibility with most DVD video players or DVD-ROM drives. All backed by Verbatim's limited lifetime warranty.

Best Dual Layers on the Market
on September 14, 2009
Posted by: FLhd

The dye that Verbatim uses in most of their blank media is of much higher quality than some of the other brands on the market. The new Memorex dual layers produce many more errors compared to the Verbatim products. I download Xbox360 backups and burn them to dual layers via my Toshiba notebook and have nothing but success with the Verbatim media.
What's great about it: Great for burning Xbox360 Backups
What's not so great: Usually not on sale.

Definitely Not the Best Dual Layers for Xbox 360
on September 5, 2009
Posted by: FLhd
from nola
I have a Xbox 360 with a flashed drive that allows me to play Xbox 360 backups. I download backups online and burn them to dual layers. Out of 3 packs of 25, maybe 4 or 5 have burned correctly. I thought it was my burner, but when ever I use the Verbatim or Sony Dual Layers the margin of error is far less and far more with the Memorex brand. Unfortunately the price of the Sony and Verbatim brands is far more, they never go on sale. The Memorex seems to always be on sale for about $23 to $24, but overall they are very low quality, especially for burning Xbox 360 backups.
What's great about it: Cheap, Storage capacity is there.
What's not so great: Definitely not good for burning 360 games.

Great Value

This product is a real bargain at $79.99 and includes the text to speech. The firmware update is on Sony's website, very easy to download and install. Just remember when you download the file, place the file in it's own folder before you use Sony's updater to install the file. The GPS has all the features needed in a simple GPS, no bluetooth, no traffic updates, no cheapest gas price. I hope Sony will offer updates when needed. If you can find this item, buy it. I have had this product for about 20 days and do not regret this purchase what so ever.
What's great about it: Text to Speech, Simple User Interface, POI's are pretty decent.
What's not so great: Hopefully Sony will stay in the GPS game.
I would recommend this to a friend!

that is the differance between netbook and a laptop

Essentially they are both computers, but the netbook gets rid of the CD drive, to make it even smaller than the smallest laptops. The netbook is just a small laptop.

I have a vsx-819h-k Pioneer receiver, what would be a good subwoofer for it?

Difference in volume control on tv with no blue ray player and volume control when playing disk on same tv

I have a Sony 40 XBR 6 tv and a Sony BDP-350 blue ray player conncected by HDMI cable.

When watching tv only I have the volume control set at 35. When I watch blue ray I have to set the volume control to 70 to be able to hear clearly.

Why such a disparity in volume control? Anyone having this problem?
I have the same issue with my TH-58PZ800U and my DMP-BD35K.

Can I mount a flat screen to the walls of an armoire?

My armoire is only 35" inches wide, so that leaves me with only the choice of 32" flat screen. I would really like to go up to a 37" tv. Can a 37" be mounted to a well crafted armoire?
If it's solid, like you say. Should work fine.

What's the best plasma?

I play xbox 360 and watch sports a lot. gonna have hd everything for tv. I think since I want plasma, I should go with 1080p. So far I'm looking at a panasonic 42" for 999, a samsung 50" for 1399, and an insignia 50" for 1199. I'm really not looking for anything huge so I'm leaning towards the 42" will I notice a difference between the Panasonic and Samsung?
I personally like Samsung TVs for gaming, my personal pref. Colors are more inky, to me. Everything else Panasonic.
