I don't know why people are complaining; this is a great album. Although the playing skill may not be the best, the band does a great job to make the sound completely their own.
From the start, it sounds dark and gloomy, but somehow it sounds right, if you know what I mean. But on the very last song, the mood changes, and it sounds happy. It's a very satisfying way to end an album that sounds more or less down in the dumps throughout.
Also, the choir and strings add an incredible quality to the overall sound. Not to mention the amazing voice of Amy Lee.
