when i first saw this movie, i got chills. it was equivalent to listening to your favorite song and the rush that comes along with it. there's not a lot of action in the movie, seeing as the writers had to cover all the back story to bring non-iron man fans up to speed with the rest of us. and that's not to discredit the action: every scene where tony stark(iron man) is in his costume is amazing. the special effects weren't over the top to the point where they were unbelievable: you could actually see this happening in our modern times. and downey jr.'s deadpan delivery of his snarky one-liners make for, quite possibly, his best perfomance ever. after seeing this movie, you'll be hooked and anxiously awaiting any snippets of information on the sequel to be leaked on the internet.
What's great about it: robert downey jr.'s dry, deadpan delivery, "The Dude" with a bald head and a beard, everything else in this movie.
What's not so great: you'll have to wait another couple years for the next movie.

after the release of "everything goes numb" in 2003, we were left to wait for an ungodly amount of time for the newest offering from streetlight manifesto... and they really came through. "somewhere in the between" is well worth the wait and any dollar amount you pay for it. if you though "EGN" was dark, "SITB" has some of the darkest lyrics ever written for a ska song. with lines like "No matter who you know, you will be alone, when the silence turns to crys of why. what a way to begin, we inherit sin, and nobodies gonna quench your thirst when the well runs dry and nobody's gonna hold your hand on the day you die", this album may be enough to push a manic depressive over the line. but for all us sane folk, this is just an amazing album that is well worth the wait. the three best tracks are easily "we will fall together", "down, down, down to mephisto's cafe" and "forty days", but that's not to say the rest of the album isn't amazing. four years later, we can finally say enjoy. :)
What's great about it: everything.
What's not so great: we had to wait four years for it. hahahaha!

streetlight manifesto, a ska-punk ensemble hailing from new jersey, effortlessly technical guitar riffs, searing drums and blazing horns with some of the catchiest lyrics you've ever heard. SM frontman tomas kalnoky, of catch22 fame, writes lyrics that stick in your head and make you think, making "everything goes numb" one of the best ska albums for your money.
What's great about it: great lyrics, amazing technicality from all musicians.
