Review Of "Best Day's
on November 16, 2007

After several months of playing shows to promote his upcoming album, Best Days, Matt White's debut album finally hit stores September 18th.
What stands out most on this record is every song sounds so different. It testifies to the diversity of Matt's background and the diversity of his talent. Whether you like the funky beat of "Play" or the simple, undeniable catchy ballad "Love", (I dare you not to bob your head while listening to that track!) to the country and blues flavored "Anybody Else", the record really has something for everyone.
Another facet of the record that sticks out is White's range. This might have something to do with his musically rich background. White was once an Opera student and his range is really showcased on this album. His upper register soars on the title track, "Best Days". What gives each track much more meaning is the velvety smooth sounds of White's voice.
Matt White is a singer/songwriter and his sharp writing gives us such a crystal clear picture of his experiences in life. Like most writers, he draws upon his experiences in love and loss. He has a knack for sucking us in to his world through his rich lyrics. In "Wait for Love": It's like a quarter to three/And I just can't sleep/Cause I'm thinking of you/And all those times we cried/Did we really try/Now I'm dreaming in blue.
Whether you are 15 or 70, this album is a must have for your collection and will quickly become a CD changer regular. Get on board the Matt White train now because the boy is going places and you don't want to miss the ride!
What's great about it: a wonderful variety of musicality featured on the album, the rich lyrics, and the diversity of Matt's voice.
What's not so great: None
I would recommend this to a friend!
